    I bought my first Starion in 1987 when i lived in Florida , it was an ‘84 model with only 19k miles on it . Soon after i bought it , Turbo went bad and since there was a recall Mitsubishi dealer replaced it with a new intercooled turbo . I bought a black ‘87 model from an auction when i first moved to Atlanta in ‘92 and i didnt really enjoy it since it was automatic . Since then i bought and after awhile sold another 3 Conquests , a silver , white and a gorgeuos red one which i kick myself for having sold it about 12 years ago and finally i found a realy nice 2 owner blue ‘86 Conquest that i bought only about two months ago and will hang on to this one . Engine has been rebuilt and some modifications and the previous owner had tears in his eyes when giving me the title since he had it since 1999 and didnt plan on selling it but the HOA had forced him to remove it because of parking space . Anyhow i told the previous owner anytime he wants he can come to my shop and take the car for a short spin because i know how much he loved and had put into this car . I really enjoyed your clip and already checked out your website . Thank you !

      Very cool story. So neat to see how positively certain cars can have on people.
      Blue, white, yellow, black, and red all look amazing on these cars. That's pretty rare.

    Great walkthrough! I had the '85.5 starion ESi and loved that car! it had the factory aluminum rear louvres that made that flat back window not look so severe. Not sure how many of those they made, but I've never seen another one. It was a sad day when I had to get rid of it. It had some mechanical issues and I was young without a lot of spare cash, so had to trade it for something more reliable.

      Nice! I have some of those louvers as well, and I actually had an 85.5 car (no longer) but the 86 is close!

    Nice walk-though. Love the white 87. I HATE the burgundy interior! Black is best and you did an excellent job with the conversion. That 88 is really sweet! All tasteful, factory-like mods - The 83 hood, the seat belt conversion, and THAT ENGINE!!
    Thanks for the video.

      Thanks - it’s crazy that white on black was never an option!?! Trying to find a blue one to spruce up one day soon…I’m saving a couple others as well in the meantime so hopefully a couple more videos soon;)

    Amazing cars. I was brought home from the hospital in one. It got sold when i was 6 but i had great memories with this car, my brother was also brought to the hospital in this car when he was born. -Maybe the 1 time a Mitsubishi Starion even beat a Porsche 😅

    Ive spoken to you over the phone before. Hope to be a customer soon!
    My friend's mom had a new 1985 Starion. She always had cool cars.
    4:38 Im willing to bet all the factory Starion seats were made by Recaro. The '83 seats actually look very similar to tje 4th Gen Prelude seats. They, too, were made by Recaro.

    i am looking at getting a 89 conquest for my first car because i found one for 4k on offerup near me. it does need a hood grill center console lower door seal trim and paint. but compaired to the rest i could find its a steal because it is the widebody style which i love and its got the 5 speed manual. I also think they are the best looking car that isnt a 200k+ car which the next would be a murciallago but this is second for best looks in my opinion. i also plan on getting all the parts from your site.

      Honestly they range so much based on if they are original, been modified, etc. If you really do want a nice one, I have a sweet '89 that I will be selling soon and possible a couple others. You can reach me through my website at www.starquestparts.net and I'm happy to discuss!

    had an 87 with the 83 hood and an 88 front air dam. should have never sold it. I drive a 23 Supra now which is better in every way, but i would love to have a fiji blue 88-89 to park next to it

      Lots of "should have never sold it" feelings from guys about these cars, and for good reason. But hey, we can't keep everything, right? If you really want to get into another Fiji and can do some work to get it back to it's glory days, just let me know :)

    In 90s i had red 88 Conquest TSI, 5 spd. Car would blow head gasket even after replacing it once. I didn't even drive that aggressively. Anyone knows if this was common issue on those cars and why, or did i have lemon one? I remember that car was rare to see even in 90s. Ppl didn't know about them. To me then this car looked like a lambo which is why i got it. I wish i had a old picture with this car. For some reason i snapped one.

    • @andydhillon1977
      @andydhillon1977 6 месяцев назад +1

      It was common. One of the most common reasons so many of them had less than 60K miles and Sat in people's yards.
      From my understanding, the issue was due to the head being aluminum and the block being made of iron.
      The 2nd most common issue was the heads cracking due to the emissions jets in the head.

    • @steves.7933
      @steves.7933 6 месяцев назад

      These cars definitely had their issues, and head gaskets (and cracked heads in general) were common. The good thing is, they are easy to replace and get back on the road.

    • @sebsefyu
      @sebsefyu 6 месяцев назад

      @@steves.7933 So what is the remedy to fix blown head gasket cause replacing it every few months is not a fix and is super expensive in labor costs. Asking cause i never figured it out before mine was gone.

    I've had an 84 Technica, a 86 TSI, 87 TSI, 88 TSI. Wish I still had the 86. And yes, the aweful red interior was a mistake. Black is best for these cars.

    • @andydhillon1977
      @andydhillon1977 6 месяцев назад

      They should've just put black in all colors. But the 80s Japanese cars were known to have odd color interiors. My dad's old '86 Accord had brown interior.
