I bartended for almost 10 years, mostly as a side gig. I love the small details and hand movements here. Anybody can pour a drink but when it’s made by someone passionate for their craft, you get something truly special. I had no idea this was an anime but it’s cool to see something I did for so long that would seem unadaptable for anime actually get turned into one. Thank you to the original source’s author and to the studio behind the anime. Cheers.
@@EJAXK13 that’s a great question. The bar I worked at would tend to have way more female customers than male so early on I perfected drinks like martinis and pretty much anything blended. One thing I was wildly popular for at that bar, not to toot my own horn I apologize but it was true, I came up with a margarita recipe that I never shared with anyone and to this day I do not reveal what goes in it. Of course everyone can see me build the drink, but I never shared what I would build it with. My mixes were my own and one thing I can share is that you can’t make it in batches, like most places do for mass consumption, it has to be hand crafted every single time. After a few years of learning I started getting into doing private parties, and through some connections I started doing some really great parties for a more upscale setting where I gained experience doing many variations of cocktails like the Old Fashioned, which has limitless ways it can be made. One of the drinks I fell in love with around that time for me personally was the simple but very classy Rusty Nail. Incredible drink to have on a cold night. I did it all, summer parties, house parties, created some drinks myself, one specifically made for birthdays, I named it the One Up based on the green color and the 1 up mushrooms in the Mario games. That one was a massive hit when ordered. I know I rambled forever and didn’t actually answer the question I think because I don’t actually have one single drink I can say that’s the one. It was definitely the experience of sharing my bartending with people that I liked the most. Nothing beats liking what I would created and then having someone completely fall in love with it and becoming a regular to come back just because of you. I met people from all over the world, made very strong connections that I have used to this day and have gotten me where I am now so I’m very thankful for that. And the one thing that I gained that I never saw happening before I even started was how much I broke out of my very introverted personality. That gig was never something I never expected to do, much less long term but when you’re young and need extra money, sometimes you get into something like being a server. One thing lead to another real quick with my bosses and for some reason they really liked my presence and thought I’d be a great fit as a bartender instead. Took a while before truly breaking out of my shell but once I did, man I tell you I felt I could fly. As lame as that sounds, that’s how I felt at my very best. Thanks for listening to my ramblings and for reminding me how much I loved doing that for as long as I did.
When Ryu makes those drinks, I just love how each was animated so clear, so smooth and.... So very elegantly.... It just feels like this is exactly what we all need. So amazing!
Believe me this is one of the best animes for a CHILL WATCH , I RECOMMEND SITTING IN FRONT OF A FAN AT NIGHT WHILE DRINKING SOMETHING COLD WHILE WATCHING THIS , AAAH HEAVEN 🥰🥰
For some reason that moment where she gets her mind blown away from the Highball always sticks with me It's really awesome when you see someone's expectations get blown out of the water like this and it was at that point I knew that this would be the anime for me
"In this world, there are two types professions that absolutely must not deceive the customer. One is the physician or pharmacist." American Hospitals: *laughs in money and big bills*
Only by watching this new version, did I realize that I have a bias towards the old one back in 2006, the old one was such a well directed anime that created an atmosphere that I adored, so much so that I got whiplash from watching the new one, from the more energetic OST to the new OP, mainly due to the fact that I listened to the old one dozens of times. There has only been 1 ep of the new Bartender, but the atmosphere was just not there for me unlike the old one, although I know for a fact that there were a lot of things changed, maybe for the better, I'm still not sure, such as not including the breaking of the Eden Hall ice sculpture, and the manager being the one to visit, instead of the woman. I missed the calming piano songs, thankfully Ryu's voice is quite similar, it has a softness to it that compliments the tone very well. Overall, I am looking forward to how they will handle Ryu later on, as although I loved the episodic nature and the mysteriousness of Ryu back in the original anime, it was quite a missed opportunity to barely covering his backstory, I do still love the focus on the customers. I loved the old Bartender as it was a product of it's time, they made do with what they got and it came out amazing. Now the new one has more than 2 decades of technological innovation and a very different anime industry behind it, it seems to be that the story will be much more structured, instead of jumping between episodic stories, although I do miss it. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
Hi, curious about your thoughts if you continued on to finish the show? I watched this with my partner and we both immensely enjoyed this. I heard the first season was very different in tone, but I think each season must've had their charm.
The OG Bartender is also on CR, also the Hitomi underaged bartender arc in Hinamatsuri is a hilarious satire of this. Restaurant to Another World has similar chill vibes with Youshoku Japanese/European comfort food. Death Parade is also set in a bar but... way less chill lol
Why do i think timing is insane. We have a video game with a bartender character who makes insane level drinks. He was just released the other week. Wow crazy timing crunchyroll. Or whichever studio sent this in for them.
For context, the lady is in charge of a high-end hotel bar that hasn't been able to open even though the rest of the building has, because the hotel owner has absurdly high criteria for the applying bartender. It's gotten to the point that her team has stalled out, unable to finish the bar project, and the accounting department doesn't want to finance them checking out every bar in the area. So coming here, she has extremely high expectations since she's been running around, partially paying out of her own pocket, and just hoping he might be the one. So this is extremely serious business for her, as in literal money and a career is on the line. The Ratatouille sensation flashback, however, is always a bit silly to look at.
Jesus I just about spat out my meal when I saw he was using a Glenfarclas 10 Year Old Single Malt for that highball! Note a bottle of the stuff is about 7,600 Yen
If you mean like the original anime then this will have the same feel as the original anime but they added additional main story to this that focus on the Main Character himself involving his past and reason for being a bartender. We are getting a small bit of it during the first episode and looks like each episode may expand on it. The other main plot added involves the female protagonist trying to have him work in the special bar so he can create the Glass of Gods drink this anime is named after since her boss is looking for that perfect bartender who can make the legendary Glass of God drink to run his special bar.
I try to see it as him grouping those involved with medicine in the first, bartenders being their own in the second. But he can’t say “those involved with medicine” because it would take away the reveal of why - “because what those two make can be either medicine or poison”.
I don’t drink alcohol, but I loved the original and already have hope for this one, because of the human stories that the drinks wind up being the centre of.
I will - and many others who already have it on their list on various websites ;) You should be watching something chill too with that wanna be edgelord personality of yours and grow up.
Me, to point out where the writer is fantasizing, like here where they make a scotch and soda into a mellow and refreshing thing that has never existed.
Come unwind with us after a long day. Watch BARTENDER Glass of God on Crunchyroll! got.cr/cc-bgog
Any Logo png site of these Animes??

@@ProjectPhoenix21 the One Up, nice. I only made one cocktail. Called it the Ace of Spades.
Weird place for your creative writing assignment lil bro 😂
This anime is actually one of the chillest animes to watch with a cold drink, everything about it is just so peaceful imo

The bar was indeed tender
This is why I love anime. It can make a series out of anything and be a vibe.

this bartender deserves a raise
I have watched the 2006 version of Bartender a long time ago. Seeing it back in 2024 was unexpectedly amazing.
A good bartender knows the drink for any and all customers. 🎉
Such a calm and relaxing anime 😊
As a bartender, im exiting about this anime
You should watch the original too
Anime really can make anything look so epic and aesthetic
"In this world, there are two types professions that absolutely must not deceive the customer. One is the physician or pharmacist."

I never imagined I would like to become a professional alcoholic.
But damn… those drinks….
So amazing with the handsome bartender 😍🥰
Dude...that's three professions...
The ASMR on the ice tho. Day 45 of asking crunchyroll to give title-kun a raise.

I recall two scuba divers temporarily become bartenders. Their screwdrivers were legendary.

Terashima Takuma nailed it.
