Geist sure knows how to make an entrance. And also, that mechanical city they're in reminds me SO MUCH of Autobot City from the animated Transformers movie.
@@MatthewTheWolf2029 let's shared universe with mature-oritented target (like tokyo ghoul, berserk, akame ga kill, devilman, fate series, higurashi when then cry, or inuyashiki), and soon becoming mortal kombat anime style 😁
Brilliant talent, gone tragically young. Loved him as Oberstein in LOGH, too, plus his VG roles as Grey Fox, Random, and Zato-1 from MGS, Snatcher, and Guilty Gear.
And I thought I reconized Kaneto Shiozawa as the voice of Krauser in this OVA. I remember him most as the voices of Rei from Hokuto no Ken, Shin Kazama from Area 88, Vampire Hunter D, and Vega from the Japanese version of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
Pretty cool, I'd need to watch the first series before giving my opinion about he second and whether or not it would appeal to me. I like how they didn't censor anything, the guy who got shot in the back had guts flying out; that was awesome!
Fortunately, both CPM's Collector's Edition DVD and their graphic novel of M.D. Geist should not be too expensive, the graphic novel is usually called "Koichi Ohata's Complete M.D. Geist" and is not a very long read, but is enjoyable and comes with a bit of extra artwork. As for "play" there were sadly no games made of M.D. Geist, even though there was definite material for some.
I'd recommend avoiding ADV's re-release of the Geist OVAs and going straight for the old CPM release, it's PACKED with special features. The comics of Geist aren't bad either.
The animation in this OVA is okay. I've seen better, and I've seen worse. But it's not bad artwork overall. What I really enjoyed about this was the action and the violence and gore. That's what really stands out in this since that's pretty much what it revolves around. Plus, Geist is badass.
For the love of god do not watch this dubbed, it's impossible to enjoy even in a so-bad-it's-good way, my biggest problem with this is the lacklustre animation due to a limited budget, and how it should have really been a longer episode. The original is largely considered superior (it has more of a definite style), but I like both. Death Force is not packed with gore, but what it does have is very juicy and some of my favourite in an anime, haha.
always loved the music from this, the rift when geist is jumping on the deathforce waking them up is golden
Yep, Kaneto Shiozawa is the voice of Krauser and movie Rei (not sure who voiced him in the series), it's a real shame he's dead.

Transformers but close to Rated R (bit NC-17 due gory)
@@b0rd3n60 True. This show is a pretty gruesome gore fest.

Krauser's voice actor is Kaneto Shiozawa, who I remember as Rei from Fist of the North Star, Shin Kazama from Area 88, and Vampire Hunter D.

@@BIL0471 I agree. Shiozawa was taken away from us way too soon... God bless him forever...
@wingsaber4444 The name of the song is called "Countdown".

Also, epic laugh at 1:46. Geist REALLY loves to troll people, doesn't he?
Reminds Kazuya Mishima's Tekken 😂

Oh boy that was super amazing
Rei just about falls under that, he was still pretty damn manly, I think he was just meant to be handsome and elegant.
Does anyone know the name of that song that starts playing on 1:36? Its so catchy!

Now only one question remains; where the heck am I gonna find to play, watch, and read everything? D:

MD Geist is just like R-Rated Super Robo Wars Series. will it deserves team up with SRW Chara like Mazinger and Getter Robo?
Theres a lotta pulpy 90s OVAs that welcome a spot in SRW sometime. Im hoping the new one theyre making has at least one lmao

some people may say this is bad animation it's not the best bad I wouldn't call it bad as I've seen American animations that are worse
I'd say it's quite bad. The characters almost never move.

Cool, I tend to go with english subs with Japanese voices at first.
