I consider myself so blessed to have live during a time when a member of the Disney family like Roy Disney was still involved with the company that his Uncle Walt has created many years ago. I still cherish my memories with Disney when I was a kid especially with this VHS opening.
Disney was getting the use on technology when DreamWorks was born.
Paul Boon
same here, 90s kid and let me tell you no Disney era will EVER match this, its called the Disney Renaissance for a reason. As a kid i didnt understand it but now i too feel blessed my childhood was during this time
Sad that he passed away
19EHF I didn’t grew up on the Disney renaissance sadly .I was born in 1998
Classic intro. Pretty cool that Roy Disney came on to give the movie-a ginormous staple of Filmmaking-the fanfare that it even got say still rightfully deserves.
I watched this movie every single time I visited my grandparents when I was a kid to the point I could quote this disney segment
Roy just look like his uncle Walt in this and I bet ol Walt will be proud Of his nephew carrying the tradition of presenting his Works to new generations all over the world
Now that I am 28 years old, I can understand EVERYTHING that is being said! The ambition that Roy and Disney was striving for is NOTHING like what they strive for now. Their ambition has died. 😔 Maybe I should get these VHS version someday!
It certainly won’t be hard to find.
I've been looking for this specific commercial since forever! To relieve my childhood memories.
Happy 100th anniversary to the Walt Disney Company!!!🎉 And Snow White was one of my childhood movies!!!💖👸🍎
Seems like perfect timing I decided to revisit this VHS intro, because it's no wonder they decided it was best to wait until the Masterpiece Collection entered the scene when the inaugural entry of the company's overall animated features would finally receive its very first physical release, hence the reason for the intro that was provided by Walt's own nephew that I obviously remember. Man...it's no wonder it wasn't until I was six when I finally got to see it in its entirety in the comfort of my own home!

Simply one of the best animated films ever made:)

Yes. Snow White was the origin of Disney Animation.
I not only grew up alongside this VHS tape but I still have it. I have an old VHS player that I hooked up to my flat screen tv and I'm able to watch old video tapes that I used to watch twenty years ago. In fact, during the corona lockdown I decided to do a Disney marathon. I have 19 different Disney films on VHS. From Snow White to Toy Story 2 and every film in between. I intend to continue watching these video tapes until the day they burn out!!!
I’m sorry to hear that. But now, I replaced them to 📀 and blu ray disc last 2 years, since my old vcr player eats my 📼 as it wears out badly.
My first vhs my mom bought me when I was 2. I still have it, although the cover art is long gone. It's still in its distinct white cassette case. Love these opening credits with Roy.

90s Disney truly did kick ass.
You can sure say again
Wish they made a comeback that didn't consist of a crappy live action remake.
You’re telling me!
Yep the Disney magic era came back in this era. Born in 1991, I am honoured to be born in the era.
@@CrazyCartoonCat12 The only good ones were Christopher Robin and Cinderella 2015

Thanks for the nice intro, Roy. Your Uncle Walt would have been proud. May you two men rest in peace.
I had this version growing up.

My grandparents saw Snow White when it first came to theaters.
I remember watching this along with the movie itself so many times
I remember my childhood!
LOL when the 1986 WDHV logo just pops up randomly out of the blue after Roy is finished speaking.
I grew up watching this ad on the VHS of Snow White and it still gives me goosebumps as a Disney fan. Also 1:34, that's Jeffrey Katzenburg on the right, obviously must had been right before he left Walt Disney Pictures over arguments with Michael Eisner after Frank Wells' helicopter death.

Yeah and just before the Disney argument with Roy E. Disney before Dreamsworks was created and before Bob Iger took over.
Thank you for posting this in such great quality! Brought back the memories.
With the intro of Walt Disney's nephew, Roy E. Disney!!! (1930-2009) R.I.P.
I think this might have my first Disney movie that I watched when I was little.
6t76t Lol, this was also the very first Disney movie too.
The first I’ve seen were Beauty And The Beast and Aladdin.
This was the Disney that started a trend of Disney animated movies though
It wouldn't be surprising, it was the first for many of us that grew up with Disney
Mine too! Or it could've been something else but I watched it
2:47 “It also helps us preserve the treasures of the past”. Those words are something we should all think about when we watch all this new stuff today

@@watchforever1724 Thankfully, a lot of Disney enthusiasts do. That's why we have Disney+ now, to look treasure many of the movies the company made in the past.
sayyestofairness not everything from Disney plus is on there
@@watchforever1724 True, but I think it'll fill the void Disney Channel left when they decided to abandon being a haven for Disney fans in an effort to compete with Nickelodeon.
@@sayyestofairness4266 that’s right.
What baffles me to this day is why did it take Disney so long to finally release this movie on VHS? I mean, it came back to theaters in 1987 and again in 1993, but STILL wasn't released on VHS until late 1994. I remember watching the musical number "Heigh Ho!" (from the original 1937 movie) on one of the Disney Sing Along Songs videos (when I was 4) and wanting to see the actual movie so badly, but to my dismay, it was NOT available on ANY video format (including laserdisc). As a result, I had to wait FIVE years until it finally was available on VHS for the first time. Considering how high in demand the film was for many, many years, you'd think that Disney would have given us an earlier video format release in the 1980's. Ah well.
Disney originally wasn't going to release on home video ever because they thought the film was too special and important to be released on home video and that it should only be shown in theaters. By 1994 Disney realized that the wait was over and that the time came to release it on home video. So that's exactly what they did on October 28, 1994.

When Walt Disney Company gives credit to the Grimm Brothers .
They always give them credits, i don't know what the fuck are you talking about.
They have to. The majority of the films are based on some novels, legends, and even real people in America’s past. Like Pocahontas.
Shirley Temple @ 0:49. Possibly the most cherished child actress who ever lived.
Thank you Walt Disney for being part of our world throughout the best of 80 years of Storytelling.
Walt Disney had changed my entire life of growing up I love all those instant Classic Movies I enjoyed Pinocchio since when it first came out of the year of 1940. My second all-time favorite is 1985 Black Cauldron.
My third favorite is the 1989 Little Nemo Adventures of Slumberland. Best instant classic films that will treasure forever
While Black Cauldron isn’t that high on my list, I will say I like it better than Dumbo and a good chunk of the later 1990s Disney movies
A movie that was one of my childhood as well
We owe a lot for Walt Disney himself. We went out his way to achieve the impossible. Steamboat Willie, this movie, merchandising, Disneyland and Disney World Resort. In the last year of his life, he kept working on EPCOT, even in the hospital. He died before he could see that work, but he did it for everyone instead of himself. And also, his brother Roy, father of Roy E. Disney right here, finished building Walt Disney World and lived to see it until the end of his life too.
Technically, Snow White wasn't the first full-length animated feature in movie history. There are two lost movies made in Argentina in the 1910s by Quirino Cristiani, and one surviving movie made in 1926 by Lotte Reiniger, a German film called The Adventures of Prince Achmed, which is in stop motion, and uses silhouetted paper cutouts. Snow White, however, was the first animated feature film to be made entirely using hand-drawn cel animation, have full color, and be made in the United States.
Interesting pal
Very quite fascinating
The Adventures of Prince Achmed is available. I've seen it and own it.
This movie still made history anyway
That’s interesting, I’d say Snow White launched the Disney empire
I had this version when I was really little along with the other Disney movies and Sing Along Song videos.
I still have the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD. When the Platinum Edition first came out, I had my surgery to get my tonsils removed and stayed home from school for 2 weeks.

Ah Disney, you had such high hopes for Pocahontas 😅
I remember having this on VHS at the time, and my favorite part of Roy Disney's introduction to 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' was 0:53 when Disney's other classic films were introduced, even the classics made after he died, and as a kid, I used to shout out the names of those other Disney films, and obviously, 'Lady and the Tramp' is my all time favorite, well, 2nd favorite, my #1 all time favorite is 'The Little Mermaid'

This was The Best Walt Disney Movie Ever!
I just wanted to be little Again ✨♥️
I’m blessed to have been born in the 90s. This VHS came out the year I was born
Here’s a story. Disney originally wasn’t going to release Snow White on Home Video at all. They deemed the movie too special for home video and they wanted to theatrically re release it instead. They also had this same attitude towards Fantasia. They deemed both of those films too special for home video. They eventually released Fantasia on home video in November 1991. But as far as early 1994, Disney was still saying that Snow White would absolutely NOT come to home video. But they surprised us and eventually released the film on home video on October 28, 1994
At 2:32 you can actually see a demonstration of the GM EV1, which was an attempt at the electric car. It turned out to be a huge failure, and was discontinued in 1999. Many credit its failure with killing the electric car for some time.

One of the very few VHS children’s movies my grandparents owned.
Magic, excitement, wonders, imagination, romance, music, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), I love that classic movie, based on the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale "Snow White." Brings back memories. I used to owe it on video when I was a little kid, that was a long time ago until I got it Blu-Ray. Walt Disney is still my hero, even after his death in 1966. The evil queen, Snow White, Prince Charming, the huntsman, the animals, and the seven dwarves (Doc, Happy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy, Bashful, and Sleepy). Snow White, the first Disney princess with lips red as the rose, hair black as ebony and skin white as snow. The fairest in the land. Only 14 years old. Fairly young and beautiful, without a doubt. I'm happy to see the face of Roy Disney. I never give up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I knew, especially those from my childhood. I am like Peter Pan and have his youthful spirit. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time. And I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like Tinker Bell, and the other fair folks. Roy, your dear uncle would be proud of you. Believe in fairies and magic and never grow up. Think happy thoughts to make you fly. All it takes is faith, trust and pixie dust. A little bit of pixie dust 🍎👑🏰🎼🎵🎶🧚🧚♂🧚♀
Snow White and the seven dwarfs is very old classic Disney movie.💝

There was somewhat of a competition between Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Roy E. Disney as to who was to become the official face of the Disney company.

Ah the simpler times....
1:17 Walt Disney would've been thrilled to knows the true today's technology, million of peoples were enjoying the animated masterpiece in their homes, from Pinocchio, to Fantasia, to Dumbo, time and time again. Now I would like to take you behind the scene for a look at those exciting new movie project, Disney's 33rd full-length animated feature, Pocahontas. It's the adventure of a young Native American woman who fought against hatred with the power of love. Pocahontas will be coming to movie theaters for the Summer of 1995.
This makes me so sad watching this to see how Disney has changed so much since this tape came out! If only Walt knew what Disney would become today, he would be rolling in his grave😭😭

you know disney company kinda went downhill when Roy DIsney died in 2009. No Disney Family member takes care of the company anymore, either becuase they all passed away or they have other careers. it seems that the disney company cares more about making money than making art. they bought almost every movie studio, but they are lacking of making movies. except for frozen, all disney can offer today are live action remakes of thier past films. they are running out of ideas.
Iman - true .
What about Zootopia, Moana and Raya?
That is true. Roy was an amazing senior executive at Disney. He was the last one to carry the legacy. Even his daughter went against Disney for their work conditions. I don't see Roy Sr's or Walt's Grandchildren taking over, or even Roy Jr's kids.
Well, there is Roy's daughter Diana
Well, the idea that Hollywood has been running out of ideas has been around since the start of Hollywood. After all, there are very few movies with TRULY unique stories. So it's nothing new that Hollywood's been out of ideas, I mean, look at Dracula and Frankenstein in 1931
When it was said that Pocahontas would be coming to movie theatres for the summer of 1995, it came to movie theatres on June 23, 1995 when I was a 13 year old 8th grader which was 2 months before August 21, 1995 when I got my braces as a 14 year old freshman in high school.
