Same use to watch this on vhs tape with my grandparents as a kid.
Every time I watch this, I feel like my childhood is being relived

“Technology isn’t just about the future. It also helps us preserve the treasures of the past.”
I’d say videos like these are a prime example of that quote.
That process is called restoration, and Snow White is one of many prime examples of something from the past technology should preserve. It was one of the greatest masterpieces of all time, with The Wizard of Oz, Sleeping Beauty and others.
Sure they are. Even RUclips makes a great example of such a technology. It's a video sharing platform where people can not only view videos from AFTER the time RUclips was founded in 2005, but even from BEFORE that, such as the openings and closings to various copyrighted videocassettes from America and overseas, and even the full rips of some.
@@BradyLMarshallThat's what I like about RUclips.
Here’s a story. Disney originally wasn’t going to release Snow White on Home Video at all. They deemed the movie too special for home video and they wanted to theatrically re release it instead. They also had this same attitude towards Fantasia. They deemed both of those films too special for home video. They eventually released Fantasia on home video in November 1991. But as far as early 1994, Disney was still saying that Snow White would absolutely NOT come to home video. But they surprised us and eventually released the film on home video on October 28, 1994
Pretty surprising to me
How do you know that?
@@justinquigley2959 I did some research on it
The power of popular demand compelled Disney!
Interesting but when you think about if snow white was not released on home video my our generation would not have been exposed to a lot of great Disney classics my parents and grandparents watched as kids. The touch was passed on to us to keep the legacy alive.
RIP Roy Disney.
It’s a shame they didn’t put the Roy Disney intro as a bonus features on the multiple DVD releases of this film.
Agreed! Knowing that Disney is well aware of the nostalgia of old VHS releases of their classics, I'm surprised they haven't done that yet.
Happy 85th Anniversary (1937-2022)
I still have this version!
#ThrowbackThursdays Still the fairest of them all. Snow White is my favorite of Disney’s animated features. Along with Cinderella, Wreck It Ralph, Big Hero 6 and Moana
Big Hero 6 is trash.

My copy of this VHS was printed on September 3rd, 1994.
Yep, the day one of Hanna-Barbera's worst productions ever came out: "Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights." (And the "Aliyah-Din" story in that movie was H-B trying their hardest to be like Disney, with copying "Aladdin" and "Sleeping Beauty!")
Happy 80th Anniversary (1937-2017)
I used to have this VHS.
David Jones Me too
Walt Disney movies had changed my entire life since year 1985 the best Cinema Motion Picture animated films I seen the best movies my favorite is Little Mermaid
Aladdin
The Black Cauldron
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White and Seven Dwarfs
Bambi
Fantasia
Rescuers Down Under And when The Rescuers
This movie should've been given a PG rating, as while it's indeed a masterpiece, it is really dark compared to many subsequent Disney animated classics. (Same with "Pinocchio.")
There was no PG rating back then.
Avi Greene I can respect that
I think Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty should have been given a PG Rating as well.
Teacher’s Pet (2004)
A bummer about this tape, knowing you Zak: This tape doesn’t have the “Handwriting” Feature Presentation bumper on it. That would’ve opened this VHS release with even more fanfare!
So they use the 1993 theatrical re-issue of the movie on this VHS release. It looks clean in it's Early 90's look.
Do any of you guys realize that the film's soundtrack on this VHS has been remixed and is echoing a little?
I have this tape, and this opens the same way. My Print Date is September 25, 1994.

2:15 strange when I was a little baby I used to thought those Dinosaurs were Alive and Real.
The Golden Age of Looney Tunes Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Pretty much the golden age of movies and entertainment from 1920 to 1960.
There's a lot of good movies are now part of Walt Disney Pictures now of 2021
Like Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars in Marvel Comics the X-Men animated series and throughout the movies. And Spider-Man.
Animation changed everything lots of good movies come out every single year the best Walt Disney Pictures Cinema films
And I say thank you to mr. Walt Disney and Roy Disney from making the best Cinema films ever.
In another movie was frozen
Movies had came a long time all these movies are now Timeless stories great cautionary storytelling
And Little Nemo. Adventures of Slumberland.
Oh yeah, it went from being physical and celluiods to now digital and CGI...Although I feel there may be too much of CGI and not enough of a variety. Although Claymation and 2d Digital animation does exist, it's not used much as say Computer Generated Imagery and 3D modeling software programs.
It was the VHS release of the 1993 re-release of the film.
Correct. This vhs uses the 1993 re-release version of the film
@@superjackster0165 Interesting
The original Opening to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs had a commercial of an electric car. OMG I was right!! 2:31 i have childhood memories of that commercial
If you watch Who Killed the electric car you will find out the reason.
i thought eltric cars didn;t exsist back then unlike now
@@awesomeninja9178 Electric Cars did exist, although in limited quantities. It eventually became a failure in the late 1980s, and was never attempted again until the mid to late 2010s. So back then electric batteries just weren't capable enough to replace gasoline engines...But nowadays both Gas and electric vehicles are on the road, but ten to twenty years from now, electric cars may be what 90 percent of people may use on a daily basis, if governments don't intervene where people can travel to and what not (Hopefully the ladder never happens in any country whatsoever, but you'll never know.)
I like it
Olivia and Dale are falling in love and best friends forever and ever
Opening To Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1994 VHS
My mom brought us a snow white and my grandparents wrecked the tape when I was 7 years old but my tape was fine and they didn't.
Also I watched every Monday and Friday to watched the Disney princess on archive and on Disney+.
2:00 So what's the music in the background of Disney's intro after The Lion King and Pocahontas?
Orchestral version of Heigh Ho and Whistle While You Work
A GM EV Nice Car
2:29
I like this part!
My print has both the 1986 Walt Disney Home Video AND the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection logos. How cool is that?
Cool! It must've been a rare variation printed between the common first and second versions.
@@ZakWolf Rare indeed. Those prints are so hard to come back Zak.
