    Mass Effect: Andromeda is an action role-playing game in which the player takes control of either Scott or Sara Ryder from a third-person perspective. Both Ryders' appearances and first names can be determined by the player. The appearance of their father, Alec, is automatically adjusted based on how the Ryder twins look. Upon beating the game, a New Game+ is unlocked, which allows the player to restart the game with certain bonuses and switch to using the other Ryder, if interested. Players can also choose to continue playing with their existing character and complete unfinished missions.
    Unlike previous installments in the Mass Effect series, where players begin each new game by choosing from six different character classes that each have their own unique set of skills, players instead have free rein to assign any skills that they want and build towards a specialty over the course of the game. For example, if the player chooses to invest solely in biotic skills, Ryder will unlock the Adept profile, which results in bonuses related to that play style. Experience points for spending on skills are earned by completing missions, and there is no cap on the number of points that can be earned. Points assigned to each skill can be constantly reallocated so that players can experiment with multiple gameplay approaches without having to restart their games and build up their skills from scratch again.

    There's actually a pretty disgusting build that uses the pirahna with seeking plasma and a bio-converter (I forget what else) but you essentially end up with a stupidly OP shotgun that does massive damage, ignores range penalties and has unlimited ammo and can be fired on full-auto from behind cover with perfect accuracy.

  • @timogul
    @timogul 7 лет назад +9

    I LOVE the Piranha as a secondary weapon. I'm primarily a sniping Infiltrator, but I also keep a Piranha handy and Biotic Charge slotted, so whenever I'm forced into close combat I just swap weapons and start pinballing around the room, unloading massive damage. I don't even have any points into the Shotgun tree yet and it's still massive.

    Best thing about the Disciple is the weight. Makes it a decent weapon for anyone trying to carry a full loadout without encumbering themselves.

    Crafted Piranha - seeking plasma system, bio converter, kinetic coil. All you need in this game. Effective at short to medium ranges no worries about ammo kills everything.

      @Arkayjiya 7 лет назад

      It does seem to work pretty well from what I've seen. Any idea if the seeking plasma reduces the shotgun damage at short range compared to the normal ammos or is it exactly the same damage except with no fallout?

    • @Menethorable
      @Menethorable 7 лет назад

      wobblypops46 hey did tests on normal un shielded enemies. I couldn't detect any fallout in damage at different ranges. lvl x piranha bioconv + seeking plasma.
      cheers

      @Arkayjiya 7 лет назад

      Yeah I've crafted myself one on my infiltrator and it's pretty godly, Fiends dies pretty quick at level 88, I just hope their health won't raise too much at lvl 132 and make them bullet sponges again.
      I really like the Dhan too though, even though the dps is slightly less on fiends because it's not automatic, the headshots on normal enemies are glorious and it deals tons of dmg even though I've put biotic recharge augs instead of kinetic coils in it cause it's for my vanguard build.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      It appears I missed this originally, sorry about that, I can confirm the seeking plasma does not drop damage off, it's kinda it's thing, straight and steady, thought tbh, at close and the close end of mid range I didn't see damage drop off with a piranha anyway, it's range isn't as much as a dhan at default I don't think but its close.
      @Aesahethr You mention headshots with the Dhan, I had someone ask whether the Dhan does extra damage on headshot (weakpoint bonus essentially) and I hadn't looked for it in the past or had chance yet to test it, if you know whether it does or not i'd be very appreciative.

    • @Arkayjiya
      @Arkayjiya 7 лет назад +1

      EDIT: After testing headshots definitely work with the Dhan on humans. I deal around double damage on head with it. I'm don't seem to get headshots on the sort of armored dinosaur monsters though but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the gun or if head is simply not their weak point.

  • @TheAgentAssassin
    @TheAgentAssassin 7 лет назад +9

    The Dhan can be turned into a sniper , to take down architects on Insanity.
    Mine has two shots with thermal. You have to upgrade the combat tree and choose thermal clip size bonuses.
    Dhan + thermal + plasma seeking (not plasma charge). = sniper

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад +4

      +TheAgentAssassin OK, that thinking and combination is bloody genius!!!

      That with bio convert and life support tech skill and boom infinite ammo/clip size pop a tech skill to heal up.

    • @null_moniker
      @null_moniker 7 лет назад +1

      Alternately, go with Pirhana + Plasma Seeking - you'll have higher overall DPS when you take into consideration the damage/fire rate, and not having to reload as often. Haven't tried it with thermal though. If you want more survivability, add Shield Oscilator to it so you regain 25% shields every time you empty the clip too.

    • @Arkayjiya
      @Arkayjiya 7 лет назад +1

      +Justin Furrow
      Thermal isn't great for Piranha since you reduce your clip size too close to the Dhan's own and end up losing on dps compared to it. Bio-converter however puts the Piranha slightly ahead of the Dhan, especially since it eats your health 2 to 3 times slower too, but it does have a slightly lower DPS though, The Dhan deals 86% more damage, but the Piranha only has 74% more attack per second. Still, since the Piranha is automatic, unless you're ungodly precise or spamming like a mad-man, the dps will be around equal and the piranha gains in other categories.

    • @Arkayjiya
      @Arkayjiya 7 лет назад

      You never have to reload since there's zero reason not to use bio-converter. But yeah Pirhana + Plasma seeking is great.

  • @Kirhean
    @Kirhean 7 лет назад +1

    Since i don't see anyone else mentioning it...the Scattershot has a property where the projectiles it launches will home in on a target at long ranges, meaning that every pellet can hit when fired outside mid-range.
    This, combined with the infinite spare ammo, has made it insanely useful in the multiplayer for me. On a power heavy build the damage isn't as bad an issue either, since you can spam powers for damage and fill your downtime with shots from range.
    I'm sure there's better weapons for that situation, but with my limited choices it really managed to shine for me.

    My set up is Reegar, which is useful against shields and Remnant, and Piranha with Seeking Plasma.
    That means it's range is very far for a shotgun, and you don't have to aim well. Just unload and watch as the enemies die when you've just reloaded (because the plasma flies slower).
    This set up was very fun on my first playthrough on Normal, and is required on my second run on Insanity.

  • @Phoboskomboa
    @Phoboskomboa 7 лет назад +3

    I'm playing a Vangaurd on insanity right now, and the Dhan with the thermal clip augment is the best I've found. It still gets 2 shots, and while it's cooling down, I can use my powers and melee. I don't really miss the shield oscillator, since I have one on my chest piece (which grants the shields on every kill, which is pretty much every shot) and the annihilation ability that gets me 30% shields back when an enemy dies in my field. I've actually been thinking about dropping that in a respec, though, since I'm finding myself with plenty of shields, and the other option for it is so good.

  • @Korica
    @Korica 7 лет назад +1

    One thing that is being completely overlooked when you decided to skip the Vintage Heatsink: not needing to reload opens up new build possibilities. I personally have found that using a Vintage Heatsink Shotgun in a build with Backlash creates a great combat flow where you unload the gun, hold up the shield while the gun briefly recharges, and repeat as much as necessary.

    Working on the N7 Piranha...
    From all the tests I have done, the Regular ammo and the seeker plasma are the 2 best for damage. Sticky grenades are effect, but reduce the magazine from 12 to 5. The rounds do a decent ammont of damage but the reduced magazine requires reloading often to kill high health enemies. Better off with the Regular ammo or Seaker Plasma. Do not combine the seeker with the explosive plasma as it actually reduces the damage and fire rate significantly.
    So lets get to the point:
    After Testing with all possible Augmentation Possibilities, it easily comes down to either regular ammor or seaker plasma.
    Benefit to Regular ammo:
    Doesn't take up augmentation slot, so you can add another damage mode or something else.
    Downside: You do more damage the closer you are so you have to be up ontop of an enemy to get the mose out of it. Makes it not so viable in Insanity.
    Seeker Plasma:
    Upsides:
    Does A large amount of damage, regardless of Range. Allowing you to use the weapon from a safer distance and still deal a ton of damage.
    Seeking plasma makes up for the loss of accuracy the weapon has so you land more shots and pellets find their mark more often.
    From the Tests, it appear the seeking plasma does more damage, However this might simply be that the plasma is allowing more shots to hit sense they track the target. Regardless it means a higher DPS by a large margin at a distance.
    Downsides:
    The Shots have a slow travel time. Making them somewhat easy to dodge at a distance. Few enemies will be dodging though. Regardless the slow travel time is a factor to consider with this weapon.
    Takes up an Augmentation Slot but worth it in my opinion.
    Side Notes: DO NOT PUT VINTAGE HEAT SINK ON THIS WEAPON. The damage is unchanged and it gives you unlimited ammo. However, it reduces the magazine shots from 12 to 7... roughly. For shotguns, ammo normally isn't difficult to obtain. If you feel you need the ammo, go for it, but you would be giving up an additional Augmentation slot, and reducing the magazine. Better off reloading it in my Opinion.

    The disciple is one of those guns you really need to use in conjunction with biotic charge, but it’s by far my favorite vanguard shotgun. It wrecks shop against fiends and as long as you use charge against foot soldiers it will demolish them in short order. The spread is just so wide though as soon as you go back to a medium distance it’s not really effective. You have to just constantly be using charge to make it work but boy does it work well in that role.

  • @ninjaGrim1
    @ninjaGrim1 7 лет назад +1

    rockin the Reegar at the moment, still not really sure about augs to use, but chucked on the seeking plasma thing and the gun keeps its' electric effect which is cool - and changes it to a plasma based thing so no ammo to worry about (not sure about any differences in reload times), aaand that +25 shields per emptied clip. Thinking of experimenting with those +damage given x circumstance met (thinking +dmg when shields are under x% would be pretty good).
    is fun and works with my +combo build (RemVI, fire and some other element, skills invested in recharge time,+primers, + detonators, and that one that increases the chances of priming targets. party members included). fun build, just walk through with big bang combos and fun guns.
    speaking of which - I chuck in augments to increase my (tech) power dmg, recharge time, combo dmg and combo radius on all of my equipped weapons (especially the melee weapon).

    Good Content with solid testing result.
    Aside from the damage of the scattershot, I believe its true power is in its reload time from 0 to 100%. It is less than half of a second and this is not an effect of remnant weapons, because Inferno and paw does not recharge this quickly. Scattershot might be the best weapon to trigger any reload effects from augmentations.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      Happy to help, though on the scattershot issue, I found it was not 0.5, it would be if you didn't fully empty it, but from 0 its more like 1.7

  • @remielpollard787
    @remielpollard787 3 года назад

    The Scattershot becomes amazing if you give it a burst fire augmentation. This, plus incendiary ammo (slap a heat inducer augment in there as well for bonus damage), makes it way more effective against armour. I was actually surprised at how well it worked myself, after using the standard single-shot one and finding it to be as piss as you say it is. I decided to experiment with it a bit, and with the burst fire augmentation, it's actually pretty fucking incredible. I have been using it on a Vanguard build for a while now and have no trouble popping shields or armour. Then again, I do most of my work with Charge and an Asari Sword as well, saving the shotgun for CD periods. But I do recommend trying the scattershot out with a burst fire augmentation. The advantage of not having to worry about running out of ammo is pretty worth it, imo.

    Playing as an Bionic Adept I love the N7 Piranha. I put seeking plasma on it, extra damage barrel, penetrating receiver and any mod for extra clip size. I carry it for those situations where bionics are not so good, such as against Destroyers, Hydra and this shotgun will absolutely destroy an Ascendant. His little floating ball does him no good.....just blast him into oblivion. The gun also eats up the Arkon's Archons Sword (however you spill that) . The Dhan is also very good but.....but........be careful and make sure you enlarge the clip capacity or enemies such as the Ascendant will regenerate before you can finish them, so the Piranha with its larger clip and high fire rate is my choice , just remember to manually reload so when you do run into such enemies you are all set to go. As an Adept things like the Bio Converter are not a choice as one must have Tech Skills equipped matching the Team Tech Tree for the Bio Converter to function. But I have never ran out of ammo so this is a non concern. I got down to like 10 shots left one time fighting the Destroyer in the Remnant Tiller and I think that is the hardest enemy in the game. So use cover and fire away and that Destroyer will go down quick.
    Plus it just looks like a shotgun should look.
    Cheers!

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  6 лет назад

      Yeah the Piranha is awesome over in most cases it's the joint 2nd highest dps weapon in the game and depending on circumstance for a lot of folk it is the best indeed, the only that beat it are the hesh and dhan with specific build but if you aren't using the bio it pulls ahead of the dhan mostly, do you have a seeking plasma in it? it increases the range massively, my piranha which i used specifically for the architects, didn't have bio in that as I had it buffed to such a degree that a full clip would obliterate it's leg before emptying lol.
      I always used bio in my Dhan so never had any problems with it, if you nail the accuracy most of the time you can just sprint through masses of enemies blasting away, great fun as a skirmisher spec.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  6 лет назад

      oh and the hesh and dhan beating it is from a dps standpoint, not utility, the hesh has a shorter effective range due to terrible accuracy and the dhan which it's joint 2nd with is good for shields with piranha being best for armour (armour being the one you want the buff for anyway)

    The N7 crusader was added in the Earth dlc for ME3 and quickly became my favorite (geth shotgun a close second), and I was suprised to see they left it so powerful in this sequel. It has incredible potency even at mid range as long as you take the time to aim. Add the decent clip size and you have a winner.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      +219Thompson definitely an extremely satisfying gun that! Feels great to use

  • @wonderingjibril1210
    @wonderingjibril1210 7 лет назад +1

    I honestly thing using the Vintage heat sink augmentation and trying them out with different shotguns and weapons mods.
    My favorites so far is the N7 Piranha X with vintage heat sink and the ricochet augmentations and damage and penetration boosters added along with the melee damage rare up mods. tears through enemies very quickly and with me not having to worry about bullets and the recharge time when it overheats being shorter on a higher level one it's much more efficient to use.
    The second weapon is the M-37 Falcon X
    which also have the same build as the first gun and the ricochet augmentation it's surprisingly useful especially when you can get multiple shots out on a large group enemies before they can separate all the way. And it somehow works way better against the Revenant enemies. Take out Architects legs or amplifiers with about five to six shots.
    The game does have a lot of problems but finding different weapon combinations is fun you get the hang of it.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      +Wondering Jibril idd, think piranha took the leg out with 8 shots, will have to test the firing rate at some point, i have clip skills so was just one clip but with reload could be a different matter.

    The big advantage of vintage heat sinks, particularly for shotguns is that weapons with that augment appear to continue to recharge during melee and dash animations which interrupt conventional reloading which is very handy for vanguard builds. So against large armored targets like fiends, you can charge in fire a Dahn off at it face at point blank, dash back to avoid it melee. With the VHS you can continue to repeat with without stopping to reload.

    • @TekkitsWorkshop
      @TekkitsWorkshop 7 лет назад

      It's 5% per reload but even on low capacity guns like Dhan its not a problem. And if you really struggle you can use one tech ability what restore HP on every use when you have trait Life Support from Team Support tech line.
      I basically play Vanguard with Charge, Annihilation, and Invasion. With Fusion Mod of Adrenaline Invasion recharge on every kill so my combat on Insanity looks like: Invasion from distance, Charge, 1-2 shots from Dhan and melee attack it a target is still alive.

    I definitely prefer the crusader. It feels like it has a lot of power behind each shot, while having a small spread which I prefer for accuracy. If you use incendiary ammo with the Piranha's large clip, beefy armored targets like Behemoths, Fiends and Hydras can typically go down within two magazines. I used it a lot in the midgame as Vanguard before I had a reliable PAW and boosted melee damage, but in the late game I specifically packed it for dealing with heavy armor.

    Loving the vids, I actually love ME: A and I've been a fan of ME for years. It certainly is a bit different amd has it's mayor problems but the game only falters if you compare it to the original trilogy. I believe the story and the characters have allot of potential and by the end I had grown to bond and love most of the characters (specially Vetra and Drack, but mostly Vetrs :)) I believe this is the start of a brand new story, one that will be greater than what we have now. I believe this 100%. P.S. Keep rocking. hoping for a brand nee trilogy. :)

  • @Nindydar
    @Nindydar 7 лет назад

    One thing you didn't really touch on here is how effective the Bio-Converter mod is with any small-clip long reload weapon. It
    is extremely powerful if your build has any reliable way to get health back, like life support from the tech tree or the kett sword that restores HP on melee attack. I use one on my Piranha and it basically becomes an LMG shotgun hyrbid, just hold down the trigger and mow through waves of enemies, even on insanity. Even works on Architects.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      +Nindydar Its quite a specialised thing requiring skills in tech, I also wasn't convinced with the bio converter at the time, though i am switching to that way of thinking, but in my build it won't be till level 35-40 i actually go for that skill.
      Essentially if i was redoing the guide now, I'd probably put it in

    • @Nindydar
      @Nindydar 7 лет назад

      Fair enough, it does lose some of its appeal if you can't get your health back reliably. I still think that it can be quite strong even without tech skills to force HP regen, just have to play a bit more cautiously. Personally I'm using the Kett Carfelon sword which restores a pretty good chunk of health on hit to help offset the drain from bio-converter.

    • @XainesWorld

      +Marcel Wallace think I'm missing something, why would it after every shot? That wouldn't discharge the clip, unless you mean either use clip debuff mods or discharge then keep discharged?

    • @pjdf1085
      @pjdf1085 7 лет назад

      If you add shotgun mods that reduce the clip size, that scattershot setup works. It burns through the "clip" in one shot, and then recharges after a second or so. In effect, each shot procs the shield oscillator augment.
      It might be unintended, though, so it won't be surprising if it gets nerfed.

    • @evedael
      @evedael 7 лет назад

      Xaine's World the scatter shot build is specialised for use with a vanguard build where you use annilation to get 30% shields back after each kill plus 25% per scatter shot and another 20% per melee hit, if you use the kett Flame sword each tick of the fire damage also restores 20% shields as well basically making you unlikable.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      Damage-wise, the scattershot IS bollocks, but the gist of the setup is survivability anyway, so the main damage dealers would be the powers at that point.
      I've seen gameplays of the Piranha with the seeking rounds and bio converter augments on, and it's an absolute beast. Never needs ammo, but you'll have to find some way to regen health to feed the gun.

    HESH with burst mode augment is a highest DPS shotgun, I think it was intended to be full auto like Pirahna so you would not be able to apply the full auto augment. Also this augment is usefull on N7 fastest sniper rifle.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад +1

      +Phill Gizmo Actually it's not, the hesh with automatic is the highest DPS, and with burst it is dependant on level and target, the he's has bonuses Vs shields and armour but the Dhan only has shields, the Dhan comes ahead on most setup but only by single digit points and the piranha is the same for armour. Burst isn't the best for anything except the Dhan and that is ruined by the fact that a force triple shot is overkill. Also the burst is compatible with hesh.
      Keep in mind the video you just watched was made far before the release of the fire type augments, I remade the shotgun video.
      I've also since built a calculator that allows you to plug in all buffs that effect weapons from melee weps augments, wep augments, mods, armour etc to skills and see DPS and all other relevent info.
      You can find this calculator at www.xainesworld.com/spwepcalc
      Happy to help if you have any questions

    • @phillgizmo8934
      @phillgizmo8934 7 лет назад

      You are right and have much better insight. What I was thinking is that stats of the fire mode augment should vary and depend on what exsisting fire mode you apply it to. Trying burst on automatic Pirahna I'm planning for sure, but full auto on Hesh I haven't because I was afraid that accuracy and stability whould dip too low. Do not all full auto guns have increasing spread the longer you keep the trigger? Shotguns are probably exseptions to this rule and they may be recoilless.
      Still figuring out how to use your calculator. There are no glyphs to scan.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад +1

      Hmm, I'm not sure I fully follow you about the varying dependant on base fire type, do you mean each fire system augment would have 2 sets of stats?
      The best way to think of it is that fire type is just another stat, literally all it does is change the way the other stats are arranged, single shot is just that, automatic is the same as single shot pretty much except you don't have to pulse but burst is a funny one, burst has what's called a burst fire delay, each weapon has a burst number (the bullet quantity per burst) and a burst fire delay (the delay added between each burst set), the burst fire delay is generally based on weapon type, though the talon being a pistol has a shotgun delay etc, so for working out timings for dps you just have to take into account the burst count, then the delay then the mag size which is a pain in the ass with burst count as it's never multiples of 3.
      The game mechanics are super simple, more so than you'd expect, except for stability, I hate stability, it isn't a solid stat, it's a culmination of a bunch of cone effects.
      The Piranha is also more powerful without the burst, I wouldn't bother.
      Spread no, recoil yes, but recoil can be countered with your mouse movements, the recoil doesn't snowball though, it is a consistent level of instability.
      I'd recommend this vid for a good idea of the best builds, you might find it useful as a baseline to plan your builds ruclips.net/video/yoPDsTbgRlA/видео.html
      It's kind of the end all of my entire MEA experience in testing, think I got up to about 300 hours just on weapon combination testing lol.
      Always good to keep in mind though, that if you like the way a gun works and gain satisfaction, that should override min maxing, all weapons can be used to play the game, so go with what's fun :)
      Also, lmfao, yeah the calculator is a bit full on, there's a lot of information to take in, once you get your head around it it'll be easy mode, it's just getting there in the first place.

    • @phillgizmo8934
      @phillgizmo8934 7 лет назад

      Ok, let me clearify what I ment by varying augment stats depending from which fire mode you change. The same example: Hesh is a single shot with supperior rate (like Mattock AR), Pirana has slower rate but full auto, but the stats of the burst mode augment are going to be the same for both cases. Normaly single shots guns have a recoil, and that what makes them unstable in repeated cycling => spread. The burst mode stats of the augment are like they are ment to be applied only to single shot weapons, but you can apply them to full auto guns, but without reversed stats.
      And bioconverter is an OP augment because with energy drain and Cora in your party regaining health is least of your concerns. It's like a chain mag upgrade, that doesn't waste any spare ammo (unless you manually reload). IMBA.
      Off to testing.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      Right, the stats wouldn't be the same with burst as the augment doesn't flatten the rate of fire, the triple burst it adds is fired at the rate of fire.
      All guns do have recoil, it's just not so much that its not controllable. The recoil is consistent and doesn't snowball, it's based of rng to which direction and how far it recoils within certain levels defined by it's stats.
      I don't get why you are saying it's like it's only meant for single, unless that's based off the flattened RoF confusion?
      Bio-Converter is indeed over-powered, though dependant on the gun, it can easily kill you.
      My skirmisher build focuses hugely on health regen for bio converter optimization, yet even with every skill for regen and stacked regen in places, some weapons can kill me, like the isharay with bio, it's a single shot, add bio and burst with huge mag buffs it makes for an insanely high DPS SR, but it kills you in 20 seconds
      The Bio is lethal on low mag weps, I always used on my dhan which throughout its life had 2-3 shots, luckily they are powerful so only 1-2 per kill, still had to keep my eye on health all the time though and ended up focusing buffs to my shields so only the bio ever took health, everything else was shield damage.

    I don't know about insanity, but I had fun in Hardcore by using a piranha to power up my punches (and vice versa) with the last perk in the shotgun tree (and every other perk I could take that made melee better). It was an infiltrator, so generally I'd pick some off with sniping, then charge in. Seeking Plasma works great for the Piranha. The damage doesn't drop off at all and it makes the weapon much more accurate.
      The Dhan's projectile should be left as is. Seeking plasma increases the range on it but lowers the damage. I typically only use the Dhan up close anyway, and seeking plasma actually seems to hurt it's accuracy in close quarters.

    I've been using the Dhan for a while and while the damage is amazing, missing a shot due to the slow projectile and the slight homing it has can cost me plenty of pain from surviving foes. The automatic shotgun sounds more appealing as less damaging shots fired faster means less "overkill damage" and more flexibility.

    • @TheNightOwl11683

      Dual Wield Dhan with Bio Converter would solve ammo issues. Piranha with Seeking Plasma upgrades the accuracy.

    • @glacier4286
      @glacier4286 7 лет назад +1

      Seeking plasma really slows projectile speed down. It sure looks great but the way shots slow down before the target means they live longer. If the piranha brings good dps at close range to compete with the Dhan, that's all I need. Time-to-kill is something I prioritize over time out of cover. As for bio-converter, the loss of hp discourages me from using it. There are times when I'll need all my HP. I know there's healing besides the medkits, but I'm not sure how effective they are.

    • @TheNightOwl11683

      Dual Wield That's where the Life Support skill comes in handy. Every time you use a tech skill, it regenerates health, more than negating the loss from Bio Converter.

      Dual Wield It restores a good chunk of health, but a couple tech skill uses should restore your health, including Tactical Cloak. I don't worry about shield recharging with Tactical Cloak. Hell, I barely use it. Piranha with Seeking Plasma & Bio Converter mixed with Charge, Incinerate, & Turbocharge massively upgrades damage & fire rate, restores shields with each Charge, & restores health with each Incinerate use. Your firepower becomes overwhelming while keeping your health & shields constantly restoring.

      KIRA877 He means that survivability and practicality are vital for Insanity. In the lesser difficulties it just isn't a practical gun to other comparing weapons and considering that survivability isn't such a big deal in the lesser difficulties, it just isn't worth it pay-off wise. Let me put it this way: Why benefit from shields when a decent piranha or Crusader can kill enemies before they damage you too much? In Insanity they do much damage so survivability takes priority.

    • @somelonelyshmuck4274
      @somelonelyshmuck4274 7 лет назад

      Another way to word it is: Say you have a build that relies on tanking and all around taking damage but it uses weapons that don't dish heavy damage in favor of utility. wouldn't that be better suited for an Insanity Build? If you can't die easily you might as well go all the way. The Scattershot combo you are referring to mostly falls under the Utility.

    Interesting biotic (or tech) effect at 00:06. What is that, some kind of cryo-fog? Doesn`t seem to do any damage on the Kett. And I have never seen that kind of shield effect on the armor of my Ryder. Interesting build you have here :)

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      The fog isn't my effect, just very coincidental, if you look carefully, the fog already started appearing before I pressed for cryo beam, and my main use for cryo beam is debuffing armor.
      Other power is also from tech and is energy drain, this is great for stealing shields as it not only take there's but gives some to me.
      The other shield effect where I glowed bright blue with shield effects was from Cora, she has a power to creat a field around her that super charges shield regen for a short time.

      +iconnthecreator well it's already got a built in electrical conduit so augment wise just go bio converter if you have one spare then fill with kinetic coils, if no bio put a double mod extension to use the extra clip mod, if bio just use barrel and receiver job done, though personally for that purpose I'd use a paw or equalizer as the reefer is an anti shelf gun but paw or equalizer with electrical conduits is better

    • @Phoboskomboa
      @Phoboskomboa 7 лет назад

      Haven't properly tested it in this game, but in ME3 the Talon with a scope and accuracy improving abilities had little to no spread. It was my favorite gun in that game, and one of the most powerful, one shotting all normal enemies through their shields on gold and most on platinum with the Turian soldier. Unfortunately, the scopes are weaker in this game, and I'm not sure they affect spread in the same way, since the shotgun tree has separate abilities for spread and accuracy.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад +1

      +Phoboskomboa that may actually be why they put it in the pistol section, so the spread isn't negatively affected

      piranha with seeking plasma and bio converter is a beast, really. combine that with cloak's dmg buff and turbocharge, and it just melts stuff down in a blink, on insanity. energy drain as 3rd skill, just for keeping shield+health up. been going with that setup, run'n gun style, and works like a charm, high dmg constantly with very good survivability. pick a profile + gear for max weapon dmg, naturally. thats all.

    • @TheNightOwl11683
      @TheNightOwl11683 7 лет назад +1

      JussiRu I would go with Turbocharge, Incinerate, & Charge. Make sure to have the Life Support skill so you heal each time you use a tech skill, plus you can detonate a combo while restoring shields with Charge.

    • @JussiRu
      @JussiRu 7 лет назад +1

      Life support is mandatory for any spec that uses bio converter weapons, heh. Kinda assumed it is common logic. With Fusion Mod of Rapid Deployment the skill recharge speed is superb, and -15% weapon dmg (with avp perk) from that mod is no big deal compared to the benefit of having minimal cooldown on Cloak+Turbocharge, coz those are the bread and butter of this spec. Mixing skills that require me to go for melee range isnt something i like to do with weapon dmg build, personally, but, to each their own, heh. Cloak spec'd for weapon dmg and Turbocharge spec'd for weapon dmg + rate of fire i rather keep in that setup. 3rd skill is kinda optional. Few "good" choices for that would be maybe Overload for shield breaking , or Invasion for defense debuff on target, but i rather pick Energy Drain because i get health+shield regen in one skill, it has long range, recharges fast, and i dont have to necessarily aim at anything for it to work. Forgot to add that since this build focuses purely on high sustained dps with good burst capability, my combo dmg cant compete in this case with the weapons dmg output unbuffed. Eventhough if needed, Energy Drain can act as primer+detonator+health+shield regen in one package. No other skill in the game can do that in ranged combat. Thats my thinking process with this. Apologies for repeating some things, and for being vague about details in my first post. thats all.

    My favorite on the whole is easily the Disciple. Lightweight, looks reasonably cool and performs like an actual shotgun, not to mention it kicks like a mule and gets upto 6 rounds.
    I like the look of the Crusader the most, but don't like the slug. If Charging Plasma was actually worth a damn I would turn this thing into the Graal's spiritual successor, but unfortunately it is not.
    The Reegar looks like a double-barrel shotgun, which earns it points IMO.

    • @XainesWorld
      @XainesWorld  7 лет назад

      I'm using Vintage heatsink with double mod and a kinetic coil for last slot, though a biotic or tech enhancing for midrange will benefit most more.
      It should note I have heavy combat skills so huge clip size that negates what vintage heat sink takes away giving me 12 or 13 clip size, with this and sandstorms power and medium rate of fire, I often don't overheat as a clip takes out a good few enemies.

    I was really underwhelmed by all shotguns in this game; and since vanguards are now melee focused, they're practically redundant. Dhan's damage per shot may be high, but DPS is pathetic; it's a real showcase for how bad shotguns are in this game. The disciple is the workhorse, decent in all fields, but again you're better off with an assault rifle. Compared to ME3 Piranha and Crusader were heavily nerfed; it's tolerable with the Piranha, which is still lethal at knife fighting range, but the massive reduction of accuracy for the Crusader is painful for those remembering it as an excellent skirmishing weapon, capable of reliably decapitating goons at medium rages - if that's your thing, you might be better off getting a hand cannon like the Carnifex, which is pretty excellent in this game. The scattershot would've been cool, if it didn't have lowest damage in the category, and there are far better weapons for dealing with long raged targets, maily in the siper rifles category; Reegar has the opposite problem with being only effective at really short ranges, you'd be better served by the Piranha.Still looking for a reliable method for dealing with armored behemoths like the Fiend types; best I've got so far is the Black Widow, but it's problematic in close rage.
