Except that you would never agree to swap back which results real Viola not being able to get her body back since she would just kill you. For a body swap to happen, both must mutually consent for it to happen.
@@unknowed5048 tbh I always figured this was how it goes down: We know that Ellen promised "just for a day, and I'll give it back." If we're being true to a lot of folklore/myth, creatures like witches and demons need to stay true to their literal word. Which probably eased Viola's decision to trust Ellen to begin with. The catch is that, if Viola dies in Ellen's body before the day is up, well.... that's why Ellen mutilated herself right before they switched, as we can see in this ending. (this also tracks with the idea of such dark creatures being tricksters.) So, if Viola(Ellen) catches Ellen(Viola), I assume she just holds her hostage in the house, until the spell reverses. Honestly, since in one of the other endings she dies after an hour of absence anyways, I think part of the reason why Ellen (in Viola's body) probably goes back into her house to begin with, is to fill her soul with even more despair for the demon to eat up. :P
I just realized. Letting Viola (Ellen) get caught by the legless girl (Viola) is the best good ending, because she'll switch back to her body and escape, while Ellen remain in her rotten body, nearing her deserved death. 😊
Unfortunately, from what I've heard about the lore, both parties have to consent for the spell to work. Also from what I've heard it requires a vocal component, which makes her burning the throat an extra layer of fucked up.
No you can't! In order to make the swap magic work! Both side need to agree to swapped souls! What make you think ellen would agree to go back to her original form! The only good thing if you let viola grab ellen is Ellen wouldn't get her new body and new life ,her plan died with her! That's the best outcome! Viola in Ellen body slis still dead!
@@starlyght9390you can look up Ellen’s diary and find the information online. You can also look up The Witch’s House manga as it’s discussed in there too I believe, which you can read online too.
Here’s an except from Diary of Ellen’s (prequel story) from the black cat’s perspective that gives some closure that maybe karma will be served “Oh well. To put it right out there, I doubt she can live a decent human life. I mean, she’s an unbelievably sheltered girl. She’s clever enough that I’m sure she can avoid suspicion for a while. But she’s a witch, y’know? Everything about her invites ruin. Who’ll break first: her, or her father? Either way, I don’t doubt she’s on the way to destruction. I can’t even imagine a peaceful life for her. I could see her showing up any second now to tell me something. Will you be smiling or crying when you do? That I don’t know. But I’m sorry, Ellen. When that happens, I just feel like I won’t be as interested in you as I used to be.”
Right... karma to the girl deceived and manipulated for 250 years and not the demon who orchestrated all of it. Great karma bro. Did you even read that monologue lmao
@@proteg30tbf after a bit of time it was more on her than the demon. She kept it all going he just gave her the resources. She's a sick and twisted individual who ruined many good people's lives, Viola is just one of her hundreds of victims.
@@proteg30 Ellen was evil from the beginning. Her mother is about to abandon her, and instead of breaking down and crying like a regular kid of 7, she straight up stabs her to death, and then kills her father shortly afterward. All the demon did was invoke the evil in Ellen. Can't blame a demon for doing what it's supposed to.
Anyone know games like this where the bad guy win in the end? Most game always had the good guy win in the end and tend to shy away from cruelness which makes witch house very UNIQUE
So... the secret ending is just the true ending but it reveals ahead of time that the person inside Viola's body was Ellen... considering what you have to do to get this ending, that isn't that worth it IMO HAHAHAHA
You know, Ellen didn't need to go back to her own house since she could have just waited it out. But the reason why she did come back is because it was her only chance to prove that she is the master of the house after having body swapped (and consequently losing her powers) since it was going to disappear.

You know, I feel a lot less guilty killing "Viola" all those times over during my first playthrough after getting the true ending.
Love that detail on the cat's carcass when you step over it multiple times
How to get best ending:
1.Reach endgame chase
2.Let the legless girl get you
3.Enjoy

A sequel where Viola's dad gradually grows suspicious of his daughter being possessed by a demon would be so cool.
