You forgot about the "____ Ending", where you have to wait an entire hour in the start of the game and never enter the house. After an entire hour is done, Viola (actually being Ellen inside of Viola's body) will escape the forest and can walk away freely: because you waited an entire hour for Viola being trapped inside the wounded body of Ellen to die, it can be theorize how cruel Ellen can become as every seconds, minutes and moments of this hour is an intense pain while being in complete despair. So far the most scary ending.
Spoiler: the waiting ending gives ellen the feeling of full despair with no hope, that ending gives me hope that in her last moment she can find some peace. But the true ending is the most dreadful to me as the witch sadistically goes back just to give ellen some hope to only have her own father kill her.
It's also worth noting that besides the obvious reason of Viola desperate to get her body back, it is heavily implied in the novel and manga that Ellen has an Electra complex. Just as Viola was ready to accept dying in Ellen's place and let her live on in her body, she saw a vision of Ellen with her father with a seductive smile before holding onto him. This of course revolts Viola, wondering what Ellen plans to do with her father in her body. The very last section in the kindle version of the novel is the demon reflecting on the events, while also giving his own speculation as to what will happen after the game. "Oh well. To put it right out there, I doubt she can live a decent human life. I mean, she's an unbelievably sheltered girl. She's clever enough that I'm sure she can avoid suspicion for a while. But she's a witch, y'know? Everything about her invites ruin. Who'll break first: her, or her father? Either way, I don't doubt she's on the way to destruction. I can't even imagine a peaceful life for her. I could see her showing up any second now to tell me something. Will you be smiling or crying when you do? That I don't know. But I'm sorry, Ellen. When that happens, I just feel like I won't be as interested in you as I used to be."
7:26 Fun fact: In the original version of Witch's House, Froggy would appear behind you right as you exited the snake room. If you immediately re-enter the room the walls and floor become a stomach that pulses and squishes when you walk around.
Gosh everytime I see this game I get hit by the same feeling of sadness for viola. Knowing that no matter what route you go she ends up suffering and even dying to the hands of her own family as she's in agony is really sad. I'm totally one of those people that prefer good/happy endings XD way too much of a sap for tragic ones
Fun fact I learned from tumblr back in the day; If you go through the game without saving and interacting with the cat, some special things change. Specifically, the Witch's room where everything changes from "A vase of flowers" or "A drawer full of cute outfits" to "A vase of flowers, I love flowers", "A toppled chair" to "A toppled chair. Viola would sit in this and talk to me", and "A drawer full of MY cute dresses." What is horrifying though is that she reads her bookshelf and it says "Lined with books on magic. It's not so bad being powerless FOR A WHILE." In addition, Viola will instead find that the black cat has not been reduced to a corpse, contrary to the previous endings. Through a one-way dialogue between the black cat and Ellen, he mentions that the magic is about to fade in the house, and everything in the house will die once the "witch" dies, since "she" seems to have the magic again. In the middle of his dialogue, his name will change from "Black Cat" to "Demon." He mentions that while demons have no physical forms, this does not mean that they are immortal. The demon's final words to Viola are, "Good luck with the rest, Ellen. My faithful witch." The demon's dialogue confirms that the black cat that helped Ellen throughout the house was indeed the demon that made the contract with Ellen. After watching the credits and/or returning to the main menu, if you select "Continue" it will say "My Room" rather than "Witch's Room" in the slot you saved in before the chase, if you have reached the secret ending. It's so messed up. All so very messed up.
I am pretty sure Ellen will be noticed by Viola's father. After all he may not notice Viola is now Ellen but in the future he will. If he put one piece with another, maybe he will realized he had killed his own daughter and in revenge for his daughter...... Ellen may not get the ending she wants.
Nah. It's stated in game that she is regaining Viola's memories. She knows how to behave and how to act. She also seemed earnest in reciprocating the kove towards her father, though her intentions are probably far less wholesome in nature in the long run. She stole her entire life, truly and completely. What's even worse is that by the same logic Viola is probably experiencing the same thing with Ellen's body and realizing that despite her sickness, Ellen was a truly wicked and evil person to have had a house like this.
I think in a way the house was really trying to help her. For example that one body of armor , when you head for the library, suddenly walking away as if it was about to attack her but was seen walking away instead as if it was watching her also it seemed to have saluted at her as she passed by. Then there are the chairs and cracks/holes in the floors, that seemingly look like they were getting in her way but if you really look at it in her perspective they look like they were trying to slow down Viola as she was chasing Ellen. Maybe Ellen was moving all those objects and making those holes, I'm not sure if she still had a bit of her witch power to do any of that but it could be a possibility. And perhaps in some cases the house could get confused on who she is since she took Viola's body and attack her. Then again some spirits in that house could be out to get her for the messed up things that she has done in the past.
Do one for “Angels of Death.” Another horror RPG game with lots of interesting story and plot twists. There even extras and a manga that speaks more of characters back stories
Absolutely love this game. Will never get old, I do have a suggestion, there's a sires called the man games, crooked man, boogie man sandman and hangman. I've played 3 of them and seen the last one. There really cool and have interesting plots and endings and they are all connected to each other. There really interesting games if you haven't done them yet.
In the ending where Viola's spirit was in Ellen's body, after she gets shot the cat's spirit walks up to her to Ellen's body AKA Viola in Ellen's body and stays there for a lil while with her until the cat disappears...I think this moment portrays that the Cat loved Viola very much until Viola's Spirit disappears with the cat following suit soon afterwards, well at least that is what i think happens.
Oh god no, it's infinitely worse. The cat is possessed by a demon. Given Ellen probably made a pact with said demon and how that scene plays out, the cat was probably owed the soul to that body which is why it disappears. Viola doesn't just die, more likely than not she is whisked away to Hell.
I don't know if this because of the remake or not, but, in 2012, for having the story of Ellen stealing Viola's body, you were forced to rush to a chest of drawers (seen at 2:07, locked at the beginning of the game with the message saying "will open when the house returns to normal"), which allowed you to retrieve a letter/diary page from the witch. Without it, you just had the scene with the father shooting Ellen's body, without "Viola" giggling. That ending made us think that Viola was in her body, and Ellen was in hers trying to; accurately, switch them. It was kind of a hidden ending, which could totally change your mood if you had the fake good ending just before. I'm French and I'm trying to understand your (amazing) videos as best I can, so I don't know if you mentioned it in your video (I based it on the images, and I didn't see a moment showing the message on the closet) so I'm giving the info :)
I wish there was some way they could've saved Viola but in every ending her fate gets more and more tragic especially finding out that because of the black cat when Violet dies her soul will be trapped in hell forever. So the best ending for me is to create this one, in the part of the game where Viola chases you to get her body back, fail to get away and let her make your game over, then quit the game and THE END.
Even that wouldn't save her storywise. The black cat is a demon who made a contract with Ellen. He'll basically revive her to have another chance many times needed until the contract is fulfilled. So it's a matter of time before ellen does outrun Viola and the ending pursues. The lore is written so tight you can't meta your way to a good ending that makes sense. It's brutal
@@kaiser8659 Well if you choose to not continue after you get a game over at that point we can just say perhaps the Black cat changed it's mind? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

While Viola, i really hope she could end that sorrow without the curse placed on Ellens body originally. It would be pretty evil if she were being kept alive with that body totally destroyed. So, my theory of Ellens future is that wont find the happiness and peace she wanted. Violas father probably assaulted Viola in the past, and will do again with Ellen in Viola bodies.

Your narrations are getting better and better, and that's hard to say on something that started out damn near perfect! It's not often you can find someone able to put in a chilling read and voice over from chipped, garbled text, but man you pulled it off amazingly. I legit had to pause towards the end when listening to Viola gasping for her father to save her -- absolutely stellar work!! And idk if anyone's ever mentioned it, but one of my favorite parts of your videos are whenever you say "...something we will get back to......... later~" It's such a silly inflection and personal touch and it makes me smile each time I hear it
The funny thing is Ellen before becoming a witch punished herself for no reason. She could go outside! But chose not to. She pretended to be more ill than she actually was. Proof is when her mother left she started taking care of house work and feeding herself. The only reason her legs hurt when she tries walking is because she has been pretending she can’t walk and hasn’t used her muscles for so long. She is a complete psychopath. They say she was born ill because of her ancestors wickedness but after the wicked life she lived I believe that even without the demon’s pact she would have still turned into a cold blooded murderer
Aside from the fact she was only seven, and there's little more terrifying and awful an experience than being abandoned or betrayed by your own parents at that age, it seems a stretch to say she did it for no reason considering she did it so her mother wouldn't abandon her, and the very day she went outside on her own, her mother abandoned her.
I would love to see the story behind guardian tales I believe it is a very underrated game with very deep lore. It starts out really cute but then slowly gets darker as you progress.
This story has a very gruesome reality, so desperately because Viola never really escaped her demise, and Ellen only made the naive girl realise what she got herself in. Gamersault did a really good job in making this story sound interesting. I really like listening to the way narrarates everything.
I never understand the story too well, but im happy you coverd it so incredibly well! Its so good! (Still hoping for the cube escape series, sorry for bringing it up,i hope not to be pushy, sorry)

I didn’t understand the story before in the past but now watching this, I understand everything so thanks!! Still, quite the dark story and sad…I like it :)
Your narrations is really calming even though what you're covering is horror themed, I hope you cover tormented souls one day since the story is very intriguing. Cheers to the growth of your channel :)
I recently read the manga, and it makes me wonder if the crow in chapter 4 has a connection with the crow in Mad Father, and we all know how many consumable souls there are in Mad Father The parallels I've noticed is that both the Black cat and the Crow are used for saving the game in their respective games And if ever there's a connection between Witch's house world and Mad Father world, then there's a chance to get Viola's body back (that is if Ogre decides to entertain himself with Ellen's and Viola's story) Also notice the talking doll in chapter 1, a TALKING DOLL that could think and feel, does that ring a bell?

all i rememv3r from way back then is that the girl you play as is actually the witch, and she stole the life of the purple haired girl, they switched bodies, and the real ending is the one where you find all this out.
the game is quite short but i liked it. i cant tell if i like or dislike the ending since both are bad for our protagonist but good for the story, giving us an unexpected plot twist.
This is my favourite game of all time. I've never found myself enjoying another game like I have with this one. The soundtrack, the jumpscares, the puzzles! I love it all I wish more modern games were like this. They just don't do them as good anymore
Can you cover 'Selma and The Whisp' sometime? It is more of puzzle platformer game where we play as a whip guiding Selma from point a to point b. The game story is mostly told by the background stuff and the ending really confused me. Nobody can seem to explain the story so I was hoping that you could cover it.

So it’s still a really interesting game but I did guess the ending quite early on but I wasn’t 100% sure til it is ravelled to us, I was like “”no they wouldn’t, would they?”” and yes they did. I recently watched Matt pat play it on his channel and he so wanted there to be a good ending and I have to agree it really sucks that the bad guys win it’s so rear in media I mean I can only think of three other works that have the bad guy winning (invasion of the body snatchers, SW empire strikes back but it’s not a full win as some hero’s escape and infinity war but as that film is shot like Thanos is the hero it’s hard to count it)

And idk if anyone's ever mentioned it, but one of my favorite parts of your videos are whenever you say "...something we will get back to......... later~"
It's such a silly inflection and personal touch and it makes me smile each time I hear it
Thanks dude, really glad you enjoy it :D
The manga and novel are awesome, I'd love to see you talking about them.
I've read the online novel. Its really good.
@@Phoebe5448 where did you find it?
I'll get around them at some point, there are basically many instalments and going over them would take several days, but at some point!
Don't know why but I also wanted to suggest this lol
@@gamersault
Im sorry if i was annoying,it juat was a topic that i thought it would be nice to cover, sorry
@@gamersault good to know you're planning on it someday, they are very convoluted but very cool anyway
Man i really love the effort you put in your videos non stop even though you dont have nearly as much views as on your LN2 theories. I'm really glad i found you during the LN2 hype and stayed my guy, i can also see you're improving with your editing style and such, also remember to not forget me when you're famous af thanks ^^
I seen this one comment and it said the happiest ending that you can get in this game is technically getting caught by the legless girl.
There's this game call House. Its super weird yet disturbing with some lore. It could be fair to do that as it have frogs involved
I didn’t understand the story before in the past but now watching this, I understand everything so thanks!!
Still, quite the dark story and sad…I like it :)
I love the story, the ending, and well everything about it. I been waiting for this video and you did a great job! ☺️
I love your videos!
Maybe you could do the "Crooked Man"? That one confused me a little! Enjoyable game though!
I loooove so much the witch's house!! I remember being so obsessed with the story the first time I knew about it, so interesting!
Im really glad rpg maker horror games continues to get spotlights like these
I hope there'll be one for mermaid swamp soon :
Your narrations is really calming even though what you're covering is horror themed, I hope you cover tormented souls one day since the story is very intriguing.
Cheers to the growth of your channel :)
The Mad Father and Misao series interested me. I'll be looking forward for more like these.
I'm so glad you read the manga too.
I didn't know there was The Witch's House manga till now. :)
I recently read the manga, and it makes me wonder if the crow in chapter 4 has a connection with the crow in Mad Father, and we all know how many consumable souls there are in Mad Father
The parallels I've noticed is that both the Black cat and the Crow are used for saving the game in their respective games
And if ever there's a connection between Witch's house world and Mad Father world, then there's a chance to get Viola's body back (that is if Ogre decides to entertain himself with Ellen's and Viola's story)
Also notice the talking doll in chapter 1, a TALKING DOLL that could think and feel, does that ring a bell?
mr. frog the mvp😔 rip homie
You should do a story explained on Layers Of Fear
2:25 "Which is spread through Novels and AMONG US"
Mermaid Swamp is a really good one!
This is very interesting and really cool I’ve seen this game but didn’t want to play it until this video game out, fantastic job with the story and ending explanation as well as convincing me to get this game
The lesson here is never agree to swap bodies with anyone.

I think the crow is the bird you find in a cage in game. You basically have to let him out to eat flowers blocking your way.
RIP Mr. Froggy 😔 and the ending is a great twist
I think this is like Mad Father in a way
all i rememv3r from way back then is that the girl you play as is actually the witch, and she stole the life of the purple haired girl, they switched bodies, and the real ending is the one where you find all this out.
I discovered this guy by accident and I absolutely love his videos. I like the depth and approach
the game is quite short but i liked it. i cant tell if i like or dislike the ending since both are bad for our protagonist but good for the story, giving us an unexpected plot twist.
This is my favourite game of all time. I've never found myself enjoying another game like I have with this one. The soundtrack, the jumpscares, the puzzles! I love it all
I wish more modern games were like this. They just don't do them as good anymore
Do a video on pathologic 2, you won't regret it
A great overview of the game! Great job!
I forgot that the game had a manga series and I remembered all the games also if u want a old school one I suggest Aoi Oni and I'm not sure if you know but there's a secret ending if you play Witch House and don't save
Just one thing comes to mind when I look at this game.....😱 Chilling!
don't know why but I really get this age that this would be a really cool things of playoff of for a D&D campaign that's horror mystery oriented or if you just want a good plot line to continue off from
Wasn't there an easter egg of sorts where you wait an hour in game and the roses die?
There was. The roses as a spell die as Viola in witch’s body dies.
Did u ever did Ib before? That one was pretty good too
He already did a vid for Ib. You can look it up on his uploads
he did
Yes! Please talk about the books and mangas!

I wish there was a good ending for Viola
I remember that plot twist blew my mind and watching MARKIPLIER play this
Thank you and good job
I have watched several of these videos and in the end it is this one which broke me. I cannot bring myself to finish the rest after that poor little frog like, it literally helped you with the puzzles and it’s low key adorable and you literally see it scared over the snake and YOU DO THAT? I-
I felt that too and after I watched the full video and read the manga I'm not even surprised :/
If Josuke appeared in the ending he’d heal the viola in ellen’s body, but would ellen in viola’s body would switch back body’s again?
You're gonna need Silver Chariot Requiem
Played this one as a Teen and Loved It. Time goes by so fast..
Keep Up the good Work ❤️
Name of that sad piano music?
Hey, it's RPG maker again. It's nice seeing it used for something popular
When you read newspapers the purple girl show in mirror in some seconds
*why the frog I loved them* 😭
This game was great. Cheers!
Please do corpse party next!!!
Popcorn time. The amount of time spent in GR's videos are insane
I remember playing this game myself but i couldn't bring myself to kill the Frog, so i never finished it. Thank you for making this Video.
7:15 i would’ve shut the game off forever so i didn’t have to sacrifice it 😭
read the manga, its cool
cool isn't the right word , its just sad
the manga gives a clearer backstory of Ellen and the things she did to the children that came (including viola)
*CORPSE PARTY PLEASE!!*
So it’s still a really interesting game but I did guess the ending quite early on but I wasn’t 100% sure til it is ravelled to us, I was like “”no they wouldn’t, would they?”” and yes they did.
I recently watched Matt pat play it on his channel and he so wanted there to be a good ending and I have to agree it really sucks that the bad guys win it’s so rear in media I mean I can only think of three other works that have the bad guy winning (invasion of the body snatchers, SW empire strikes back but it’s not a full win as some hero’s escape and infinity war but as that film is shot like Thanos is the hero it’s hard to count it)
And so with this video, i pledge my undying love
Can you do mad father! I loved that game as a kid, it was so creepy!
He did a few a little while back!
He has already done it
Awesome Video 😊
You know there's a manga telling the witch's full back story too.
I have a game to recommend to do a video on called The Crooked Man
It's um, pronounced as V (the letter's sound) and ola (bye in Spanish), so Viola
Probably one the best japanese horror games ever made. The manga was also damn creepy.
Ah I miss games like theses.
Have you done the mermaid swamp?
RIP Frog :(
1 minute and 30 seconds in she already tries to go into the house and not out of the forest...
LIKE DO HORROR THEMED STORIES OR GAMES EVEN EXIST IN THESE GAMES!!!
What a twist! Going through all that just to find out you were actually the evil witch all along
Hey, could you check one great game. It's free on steam. Another rpg called "Ann". Won't say too much, not gonna spoil anything
Still requesting My Big Sister. Short game but interesting.
7:27 or as nothing is as it seems the frog could actually be the one to eat the snake.
Okay, the voice that reads the diary is certainly Alastor's from HH.
So the thing is that Ellen cut of he legs, cut out her eyes and drank posion so she coulnd't talk. She did want to hear helserlf scream. She did all this before changing bodies with Viola leavin her to be in more pain than Ellen was
Please cover the novel and Manga

Omg this game!!!! So interesting!!!
Also, would you at all cover Corpse Party? That would be so good!
I’m are your narrator.
I always thought the intro to your videos said that, and I just realized you meant “R” not “are”.
Oh my god, I am so fucking stupid
do the jolly timeline
I remember playing this and when I figured out what happened at the end I was always so shocked even when I played again.
I love your content
100k completed yay
