I never knew that you can automatically set it to mute. For 2 years I’ve been pressing mute every time I got on it lol. Even still though the controller still gets low really fast no matter what. I do like the lights and haptic feedback so I don’t think I’ll turn those down but for PS4 games it sounds good to do. A few weeks of having to mute it every time I played was enough irration for me to go into settings looking for a way to completely disable the microphone. Hmmm very interesting. I avoided muting the controller because I figured since there was a light, it would drain more battery. I didn’t know that it was CONSTANTLY listening for voice commands. You Got a thumbs up from me for that one bro, thanks 🙏
I always go through the setting on any new piece of tech I get. And the voice thing was one of the first things I turned off. It just seemed pointless and odd that it is on by default. Never even thought about battery life. But I can't reduce my controllers quality for battery. (Haptics/trigger and speaker). I don't sit far away to play, I'm just in my room at me desk, so charging while playing isn't a problem at all. Plus I do use headphones when I can so the speaker thing takes care of itself. I just can't take away a core feature like haptics/triggers from the dualsense. It would be like getting a new driveway that's heated, but never using the heat function to save on electric bill.
I find that pretty useful if I'm in a hurry I can just use the voice setting to put my PlayStation 5 on rest mode while I'm getting dressed or something.

Yeah, that controller intercom. Nothing worse than getting in a CO-OP/multiplayer game and realizing you forgot to turn it off and people can hear you talk to yourself, etc. The same way around hearing unwanted noise from others. I simply muted the mic, turned off vibration & haptics, the audio and change the brightness to the lowest setting.

Or Sony could just have released the controllers with higher mah battery solve all the problems -_-v Perhaps even let us use AA batteries like the xbox controllers. I love that xbox feature, I never run out and still get to charge via usb cable even with AA rechargeable batteries installed..
TL;DR: - Turn off Controller Mic - Turn off Controller Speaker - Lower Color Brightness - Turn off or Lower Vibration - Turn off or Lower Adaptive Triggers
I don’t play online with people often so I instantly found the setting and muted the controller as it was constantly picking up voice commands and interrupting what I was doing.
Hopefully this encourages all those middle aged dads to mute their mics when their children scream like the portal to hell itself opened in their living room.
Some this I do agree with but the best way to fully enjoy the controller is with full haptics on if you don’t play many game that utilise it then that makes sense
Lower the light bar brightness too. But, muting the mic is a double-edged sword, though. Yeah, the mic is off. But now you have another damn light on constantly. I wish you could disable the mic and light altogether.
But what about it the 15 seconds before getting a trophy ? These are the best audio to record and memories you can have in a trophy , if you mute , you’ll only see a video … there’s a great feeling when you have your friends at home and they get a trophy on your account and say something funny . But I’m looking for a new monitor for ps5. I was debating about m32u, vsus 28 inch.. or lately sleeping on it.. I’m about to just give up and fork in that extra $ for inzone m9 and play it safe. But the reviews for m9 have been worse than antman quantumania 🤧
antman wasn’t horrible definitely not great but it was better than thor it felt like it was straight out of a 2000s marvel cartoon
I’ll use a few of these across my 3 PS5 controllers as that’s why I have two fully charged anyway.
Good tip if you only have 1 controller, but I have 4. No way I'm turning off the haptic feedback. It's one of the greatest features in gaming history.
💀
It’s a shame that we have to limit functions to make battery last longer when Sony could have came up with a more efficient battery.
You didn’t pay peanuts for the console.
My mic is always muted but I didnt know it drains battery lol but if you want to really increase battery life really fast just turn in controller settings the brightness from strong to dim its just one change but it increases battery life by a lot
Your mic is always mic?
@@S-1_24-25 Thanks didnt notice lol
Yeah, that controller intercom. Nothing worse than getting in a CO-OP/multiplayer game and realizing you forgot to turn it off and people can hear you talk to yourself, etc. The same way around hearing unwanted noise from others. Turning down the vibration intensity does make sense because there is one game in particular I play that sometimes the controller will vibrate like crazy during matchmaking. I have never seen a controller last 12 hours, maybe 8 hours.
Thanks dudet
even if you don't care about battery life, if you play MP games mute your controller
Actually i take almost all of your advices bro..
This will surely do on my next game session... Tonight! 😂
Okay, I'll need to set the mic to mute.
Pretty much common sense....sorta lol
I had no idea my microphone on my ps5 controller was also picking up noise I seen it go off and seeing the icon pop up and I was like I'm not even talking...so thank you!
John Glasscock. Pfft. It's *Herbie* Glasscock.
@JohnGlasscock. STFU. You're not the real John Glasscock. Don't play with my feelings like that.
A simple way of saving battery is turning down all the features. Great tip. I have another tip you can add at the end. Keep the controller off, this has the most battery savings.
@@tyxn_gaming great tip! Save 100% of battery on your controller by using your mates controller.
@@tyxn_gaming buy 3 controllers to triple battery life.
@@tyxn_gaming Sell PS5 so you can afford to charge your 4 controllers!
The light on mic should be green when the mic is on and when it's off the light shouldn't be visible
😭I really need a ps5😭😭😭😭❤
I was lucky enough to get mind from Game Stop. I would recommend checking there first.
Buy one
@@Phoenixyy2k u think its easy😭money???
Bro you don’t need one, you *WANT* one.
@@juniormiles3206 save up
I have put trigger settings to weak because i tested it and i like it little bit better than medium.
Thanks for the tips, I changed everything to the settings you mentioned.
Nice.
Just muted my mic for when i next log in.
Thank you!
I found this video prior to getting my ps5, but now just found it again. I bought the spider man 2 bundle and my controller doesn't seem to last that long. Will implement these when I get the chance
I've done all these things and it still barely lasts a few hours. I honestly feel like keeping it muted drains it faster outta spite lol
I hope this helps. This controller charge is absolutely insane. This thing is dead more often then it works.
Hate that there’s no turn off speaker option though
Damn -- didn't know that. Rare, actually helpful tip on RUclips!
Turned the Haptic feedback off, during PVP it does actually make it easier to target and kill opponents.
I bought the Sony controller charger with my PS5 so I've never ran out of battery mid session but glad to find out about the auto mute when logged in feature. I'll definitely be enabling that.
The end of the video is epic 😂
*Unplugging your controller under any circumstance*
The controller: “Oh I’m sorry! I guess I’ll go fuck myself.”
Imagine not liking Haptic feedbacks, best ever feature ever introduced in a controller
Both my ps5 controllers only last 7 minutes tops. I think it's that charging station I bought when ps5 first released
Thanks for this. The mic thing will probably help a lot.
Me:
Vibration off
Haptics off
Speaker off
Lights dimmed
Are you talking about the mic On the PS5 controller.
I noticed my controller was lasting a lot longer yesterday. I had done this tip by pure coincidence (I had not seen this video at the time) a week or more ago to see if I could extend battery life. Only thing I had not done was the mute button. It actually now lasts considerably longer than my ps4 controller.
And always handy to have another controller handy just incase
Buying the 2600mha accu saved my controller. It can fast charge now with samsung accu station for Smartphones. It hold 2 days playing non stop. Accu is from PAXO
Didn’t even know this was a feature, thanks! I never really cared for the built in mic.
I like how people don't even know these cause it's very obvious. You just disable the effects it's that simple. I did that when i first bought the console without the need to search how to increase battery life. I simply muted the mic, turned off vibration & haptics, the audio and change the brightness to the lowest setting.
I changed my duelsense battery with a higher capacity one. So much better and took minutes to do
Thanks for this video.
thanks for the tips. my controller actually lasts just a few hours from the moment I bought the console. I KNEW it was supposed to last at least a few more, but it doesn't. so I hope this helps. thanks again.
Or Sony could just have released the controllers with higher mah battery solve all the problems -_-v Perhaps even let us use AA batteries like the xbox controllers. I love that xbox feature, I never run out and still get to charge via usb cable even with AA rechargeable batteries installed..
For a new user as I am, this was very helpfull, thank you.
The best thing to do is order a bigger battery and swap it out of your controller by opening it up
TL;DR:
- Turn off Controller Mic
- Turn off Controller Speaker
- Lower Color Brightness
- Turn off or Lower Vibration
- Turn off or Lower Adaptive Triggers
Thanks for your video bro, thier is very good tips right there.
Never realized this thank you so much
My PS5 controller never lasted longer than ~7 hours. I will definitely try this
I don’t play online with people often so I instantly found the setting and muted the controller as it was constantly picking up voice commands and interrupting what I was doing.
Just changed the settings so lets see🤙🏽 thx
Hopefully this encourages all those middle aged dads to mute their mics when their children scream like the portal to hell itself opened in their living room.
I'm gonna say something very random but the dualsense controller is so hot🔥🔥🔥
I don't have a ps5 but I still watched this
Some this I do agree with but the best way to fully enjoy the controller is with full haptics on if you don’t play many game that utilise it then that makes sense
Thanks for the tips mate keep up the good work !!!!
Turn off everything. And by that, we are using a DualShock with the ps5.
Great tips mate
Lower the light bar brightness too.
But, muting the mic is a double-edged sword, though. Yeah, the mic is off. But now you have another damn light on constantly. I wish you could disable the mic and light altogether.
Thanks bro, great info! now i just need to buy a ps5.
But what about it the 15 seconds before getting a trophy ? These are the best audio to record and memories you can have in a trophy , if you mute , you’ll only see a video … there’s a great feeling when you have your friends at home and they get a trophy on your account and say something funny . If muted all the time , you can’t keep those memories recorded …
