Hell yeah, one of my favourite series of all time as well. Glad to see a fellow Air Raider brother. I love the changes for them in this game, the drones are awesome.
I've always mained Wing Diver in these for the mobility. Being able to bounce in and out of combat between chain lightning guns and the various snipers and giant plasma cannons was always nice.
Been a fan since EDF 2017 but have been feeling skeptical about this release. Seeing your gameplay has me excited again. Would love to see more!

The nostalgia is real for this game, especially the first, god it was such a good game to play with friends during the summer and was an amazing time :D
Unsure if you've seen it already, but you can change the camera angle to Angle 1 in the Game Settings to return to the glorious over-the-head angle

The story in EDF 6 is the wackiest one yet I think.
There was one of the games, maybe Insect Armageddon where an NPC specifically mentioned that he had tried chocolate covered ants once and that him wonder what the bugs would taste like. But aside from that, I don't think they have bugs or even frogs in the games' universe.
Since I am a freah dad I only get little time windows zo play games. So at the moment I prefer my Playstation 5 over my PC. There EDF 6 is very fun and I like that I can fast and uncomplicated play a mission befor getting back to real life duties.

No idea if this helps, found similar problems from other people on EDF5 where the NVIDIA 3D settings would crash because the 3D settings weren't set to high-performance NVIDIA processor. By default the settings are set to auto-select so some games would just perform terribly.
It helped me because my main issue was having EDF6 dialogue + button input (like me moving somewhere) would cause a total freeze. This was the same for you during 28:20
If you have really played the last game to the point of being really powerful once you start playing this game it really does feel like you have lost a lot of the equipment.

Purchased recently and started playing. I main Wing Diver so its what I am starting with. My dumb ass has jumped straight into hard mode on stream. XD love the games though.
The copter missiles look like way would happen if ACME from Looney Toons was contracted to design an alternative to the Predator drone.

So I actually like EDF 5 and EDF 6 more than any of the other games.
I love the fact that EDF 5 started a brand new story and kind of made a soft reboot of the franchise with a more Dynamic story even if that story is still something you have to actively want to partake in. The previous EDF games had missions that lasted way too long at times and the EDF 5 made it so that the more important missions are the ones that last super long and quite possibly EDF 5 has the most interesting soldiers out of the entire franchise, I never want to kill any of them and actively try to form a squad and keep my entire team alive throughout the mission.
The character development from the soldiers is just absolutely a blast to listen to and the stakes feel so much higher in EDF 5 and 6 to the point where I feel like the Earth is actually losing the war. To which they kind of did at the end of EDF 5, and then continuing the storyline in EDF 6 makes it so much more satisfying.
Also they really did change how all the classes play out and the inclusion of humanoid enemies with battle strategies really made the combat that much more visceral with the included Gore effects.
I love the fact that they updated how you upgrade and streamlined it to be more efficient. So now you can actually gain something even if you fail plus you play one class and you have a chance of getting gear for other classes as well. I played EDF 4.1 quite a bit but I never actually completed it with any other class except for Wing diver but I have how to blast completing every mission in EDF 5 with only 20 of those missions being tedious to play.
I do say that the only flaw to the EDF franchise is that the main line games kind of become out of date as soon as a new EDF launches however EDF 5 and EDF 6 are tied as one humongous game and I really do enjoy the fact that they made the story connect with the two games instead of what they normally do.
EDF five has by far the most enjoyable combat and EDF 6 just improved upon that while giving the game of major facelift in terms of Fidelity. It's not as graphically impressive as iron rain but EDF 6 looks amazing with all things considered. I'm probably the only person who wants this but I really hope they let EDF 6 be the final game of the franchise and possibly focus on another game series. I don't think they can outmatch EDF 5 and 6 without trying to make another spin-off. I'm glad EDF has made it this long over various different consoles and generations😊
From my experience with the game so far, the Ranger's shotgun is still highly effective for bug crowds and hitting through piles of corpses. ARs are okay, but if the bullets can't penetrate, you're gonna get drowned in the flood of bugs.
It makes me sad that they abandoned Xbox, I'm still playing the last one they released 😅😢

Assuming that EDF 6's Depth Crawlers control the same as the ones in the last 2 installments, your best bets for moving quickly in them are walking diagonally or making liberal use of their lateral dodge function. That aside, this was an entertaining showcase overall, even if I am personally not a fan of blowing up buildings unnecessarily...

Edf 6 is my favorite by a ton myself. If I had a scaling system for all edf titles I'd put edf 4.1 at a B rating, 5 at an A- and 6 so far at an A+. Bound to change cause I'm on mission 40 ATM but my gosh it's so GOOD already. I won't post an official review until I beat the game and a second review after getting end game gear.

The earlier releases are on ps plus and on sale almost once a month. I recommend you play 5 before this one.

Big agree with milkyray, while EDF6 is definitely the best yet, you should really play 5 first as 6 is more of a companion piece for it.
I really wanna see what kind of sentries you can get. My favorite builds were usually 2 sentries(machinegun and sniper combo) and a limpet gun depending on the level the sniper or the shotgun variant.
By now I would have liked the feature of growing and equipping your own squad.
If I was to make a suggestion it would be to get the lootmaster mod it makes collection a whole of a lot easier if your OK with being a little cheaty

Some small misinformation.
1. In EDF 5 you gain most armor with the class you are playing. I think edf6 is the same.
2. If you get a duplicate weapon its not always an upgrade. It has randomized stats and you try to grind better duplicates.

This game is being undeservedly review bombed which hurts me.People will think this is a bad game cuz of its score, not because of the epic games stuff. The people who are doing this are hurting this games longevity and sales. To call yourself a fan and do this is appalling. They are a budget series and this is the fault of the publisher, not the developers.
They even said they will look into not making it mandatory. So enough with the review bombing guys.

@@wanderbots Honestly yeah. Outside of the epic thing, this is my favorite entry so far. The amount of enemies, maps, weapons, fidelity, etc. the game looks not as bad as it used to be anymore. Graphics arent my thing but seeing edf atleast look decent especially in some other new maps is a nice thing I’d def take!

Air Raider since 4.1 has been broken. 6 makes them STUPIDLY BROKEN and as an Air Raider Main, I am 200% for it all.

Forced EGS to even play it offline makes this an instant skip for many players. The EDF games are great, I'm sure this game will be great but many will never play it because of the forced EGS that the store page doesn't even warn you about. Shameful behaviour and good luck to all that are happy to have that nasty piece of spyware on their system.

he keeps mentioning civilians because he's using the "we gotta protect the people and the city" to hold himself together. Its him being kind of delusional. Its literally his character (at least at the start where I've played), he's the "my entire purpose is this war and without it i'm not a person" because everyone in the game is struggling with what happened.
Also every single EDF has had a narrative. You literally just haven't paid attention to them lol, and i'm not trying to be mean, its valid to ignore the narrative in these games lol, but yeah they have been there just hard to hear sometimes and never had any subtitles.

Not good at all. Probably the worst song in the series. It uses the same tune as the EDF 5 song with different (and much more awkward) lyrics. The subtitles and the dub are also completely mismatched.

There are no plans for an Xbox release at all so don't get your hips up. Just like the Xbox never got EDF 5 or 4.1 or Iron Rain or World Brothers ECT. But Nintendo hasn't released any of them over here on the Switch either even though some of them are out in Japan for it. It's just such a small niche game that it might not have been worth their time. Who knows?
@kellinwinslow1988 I never heard of EDF until 6 months ago wile browsing on the xbox store, and I found EDF IA for free, so I gave it a try while slow game, I quickly searched for more and found EDF 2017 and 2025 backwards compatible from xbox 360 and LOVED THEM, was kinda sad that I missed those games back in the days when I was on xbox 360, I really think they are missing a market by not marketing too much. And keeping to closed platforms

Really sucks this game requires you to make an Epic Games account to play on Steam. And that they didn't disclose that until after they got backlash for it. Heard this game was almost too similar to the last one but they made some interesting changes to the classes. Was really on the fence considering my first game in the series was EDF5 so and I didn't need another if it was too similar but the Epic Games thing cinched it for me. I don't support that company in any way shape or form.
I mean yes it’s kinda weird, but I don’t understand that is a complete deal breaker, it take two seconds to sign in or make an account. I do agree that they should have said something about it before, but imo it’s really no that serious, it’s not like they are making you download something malicious or whatever. @imsentinelprime9279 I don't support Epic Games and their anti consumer practices. They spend more money on making other platforms worse through decades old console war exclusivity contracts rather than work on their own crappy store. It took them multiple years to implement basic store functions that every other platform had at launch, and I hear they still haven't finished adding basic features. They've made it their mission statement that they are the platform for the developers first, themselves second, and the customer last.
Also, from what reviews I've seen of the game, it sounds like they just patched the last game, made some new missions, and charged you full price for it again. I did hear they're looking into removing the Epic Games requirement, though, so hopefully, they do that.

I just had to refund this game. The sudden "You need Epic login to play the game and for online multiplay" was a sh*tty scummy move by Sandlot and D3 P. I love EDF, but this was just not the way to do this to your paying customers.
It's not a scummy move, 2022 game port jap design require either eos, denuvo or 3rd party eula to work and its already on design. Since steam no longer providing steamwork, japan dev assume you know this and port with one of the mentioned ware.
Well good dev with marketing dept Will usually tell people what's in their game. Bamco,atlus,koei,tecmo etc. But this is not the case
I repeat its on design, if you want to change it support the movement already done in any of social platform and expect the change to start at 2028 because the headache of gaming design especially not U.S based

I know graphics aren't everything but this is a ugly game.
I wouldn't mind getting this EDF if it wasn't for the fact that I don't like random crap I don't want being forced onto my PC just to play it.
Any software that installs itself without your approval is a big red flag, and EGS managed to check that box.

Why do you get half of armor ? Air raider got 10 amor on mission 2 and it's hp up 5 hp ?
if its the same system as previous games each class has its own multiplier for hp gain from armor fencer for instance i think gets 1 hp for every armor whereas air raider and ranger both get 1 hp for 2 armor and i think wing diver gets something like 1 hp for 4 armor

@@bastienlemaitre685 edf4 wasnt like this but that was just because you had to play as that class to get that classes rewards in edf4, meaning you got the same armor air raider wouldve in 4, but also (the mechanic introduced in edf5) armor was given as a base amount and multiplied by a bit for the picked character, and then divided based upon each classes hp gain rate,
Tldr this was,exactly how it was in 5 but 5 skipped explaining how the calcs worked more
Fencer gets like .74 armor for a box air raiders and rangers get like .48 armor and I forgot how much wing divers gets but its probably Somewhere close to .28 or .32 armor
