    No word on power changes is unfortunate. Would've been nice to do a bit of headwork and a cam and give it another 1-2k rpm and another 10-20hp over the highest spec current CP3. Same with the fully committed position. If the industry refuses to make AAR Alligator-style recumbent bikes, the least they could do is give us fully faired but sport touring/upright/semi-upright riding positions, sub 460lbs wet, and 115-135hp with good torque.

      Exact same weight as a ZX6R. Less hp but significantly more torque with a more relaxed riding style than ZX6R. Might not make sense to you but this thing will sell like crazy. Some people want a fun sport bike with a lot of torque that wont kill your back as bad.

  • @acaceres5788
    @acaceres5788 3 месяца назад +1

    Looks sweet. It seems like apart from any shared parts, Yamaha's cost savings will be in the frame. "Gravity cast" suggests they're just pouring into a mold like any other cast metal. So I'm guessing that makes it less dense, less uniform, softer, but potentially lighter etc. Which I'm guessing they can get away with on a street bike if the suspension and swing arm are designed to make up for it. It'll probably only limit the bike on a track, and at that point if you're going fast enough for the frame to be an issue you just get an R1. Glad Yamaha are still putting out new products.

    2-The gap at the cylinder head in the middle of the bike looks really cheap. You can see through it when you look. Even the R3 doesn’t have anything like that.
    3-The rear swingarm should have had a design that suits a race bike.

      Gsxr750 is a dinosaur compared to this. It’s only faster in a straight line, no chance the 750 is faster on a circuit track. The R9 is already faster than the R6 on track according to Sportbikes Inc. magazine.

    I wish instead of this new R line, it would have been the MR line or something else to display how while they aren't making race models aside from the R1, these are the in between for people who want decent bike setups but with naked bike power. The only other problem is the prices across the lineup are too high compared to the old brand new prices of the 600 and 1000 RRs. More money, less power, less performance... at least the engine on this one is a legitimately great daily street engine.

    Crybabies about it being SuperSport ergonomics too like R7-- when did everyone become such a pansy about sporty ergo's?
    It's not for everybody I agree and different body types and fitness levels dictate that.... but if you know how to sit on these bikes correctly and support w/core they don't hurt to ride I can ride them all day in the twisties and do long highway trips no problem. The ergo's are better for cornering/handling it's why they were designed that way and there's a fun feeling of being "locked in" in the tuck rather than being upright like a sail like say on the Street Triple or Mt09.
    I added higher rearsets and lower clip ons on my RS660 not finding it aggressive enough and now it's perfection. Also added Ohlin's suspension. Funnest twisty ripper bike I've ever had.
    Different things for diff people but if this bike doesn't appeal to you then buy the type of bike you want to ride lol
