Hello from Boston❤️
really love the topic here lol
you’d think a company like apple would not have innacuracies like that
You would also think that USA would end their stubbornness and use Celsius like the entire rest of the world, but well...that's how it is.
@ -do you realize how difficult it is to get hundreds of millions of people to just change the units they use just like that? It's not stubbornness it just isn't realistic, if 1 company changed the units they show people would complain about the inconsistency, to change it would require the majority of basically everything to change at once, and even then you would still encounter issues- (edit: I am wrong)
@ it’s obvious you are semi young because you didn’t grow up in the 70’s/early 80’s when America was supposed to convert to the metric system…
@Nicolás Bercovich I 2nd your statement. However it's not about USA vs rest of the world. Is more of what is best and most accurate and in that area the metric system is way to go. @William Smith In the united states that wouldn't be so difficult. Since every proffesion where measurements are required the metric system is mandatory to be studied and used in the USA. All proffesions that deal with calculations of speed, weight, distance, building things all are required to be taught, person in proffesion is required to know, they are tested in it and calculations are made using the metric system. Ask a pharmacist, architect, RN, electrical engineer, what system is required to make, submit calculate plans/medications it's going to be the metric system. Sometimes it's so hard to distinguish whether comments are made because of ignorance, stupidity or just childinsh tantrums.
@@williamsmith6921 every country had to pass through that exact thing for the sake of trade, commerce and international cohesion. In Brazil (my country) it is still common to see older folks use old units that don't exist anymore... If America switched to metric it would, just like Brazil, take decades to complete the transition, and even after it's supposedly complete some older folks (in the case of America it would be your generation that is already accustomed to the current system) will refer with their older friends or even with young people the old units.
Nobody asked in Brazil, Canada, Jamaica or South Africa for a new system, all measuring systems work just fine. This is the sort of thing that needs to happen for international collaboration and thus is more of a monumental societal effort, often stimulated by the government.
In america y'all started using litres for soda/pop and you didn't even notice hahaha, it's eventually going to happen government demands it or not, its way simpler that way... Imagine buying gas in the same unit you buy soda, or measuring yourself in the same unit you measure your food.
Crazy.
I’ve never seen it say 8008° either
I work in software dev and I don't know if anyone on here has mentioned it, buuut, it's probably the devs switching from int(temp) to float(temp), or as you said, they started using decimals. Devs probably noticed that the steps between C degrees are small enough that no one really needed EXACT temperatures, and Floats legit use a lot more memory and require a lot more time to do calculations against, so I'd hazard this is just legacy deadwood that no one has changed from the early-days for performance reasons and now that the hardware is brawny enough and they're switching to a new data source, they could change from int to float and return that accuracy.
