I own a quartz copy of the 1926 Oyster homage. They really are quite good regardless of what you pay. It isn't even a question of value/money... they are objectively well made
Great and fair review Mark. I was to receive this for Christmas, however the package was stolen by porch pirates. True but sad story. At such a price point perhaps worth trying again.
I own this model with the white/silver dial and quite like it. I agree that the strap it comes with is really good. However, I switched it out since I have a largish wrist and found an XL strap that suits it really well. I'd add that the design really fits larger wrists well too. I have a 7.5 in wrist and it looks really good on me (IMO).
@@dominicminghella6598 I already had a De Beers and a Hadley Roma straps in XL and I also ordered a custom strap from a seller on Etsy (located in Vietnam) that ended up the best of the bunch. It looks a lot like the modern strap calf strap that comes with the VC 1921 - it's a sort of reddish, brown color.
Well it’s not just the name and design with the real thing. As with any of the haute horology watches, an enormous amount of work goes into the hand finished movement.
Nice homage. Not for me, but can't deny the immense savings for such compared to the original luxury model is almost a no brainer if you've been really listing after such a design within a very modest budget. Take this last as a bit of productive criticism. I usually enjoy your low light transitions in the past. However, the background, to my eyes, seems a little distracting.. I'm drawn to the dramatic high contrast and texture effect and away from the watch. And, whatever is creating the rainbow effect is kind of cool. But, at the same time I feel creating a color cast which isn't necessarily what most will see in natural and indoor lighting, augments the true effect of the watch's colors and finishing and details. I forget what other watch channel I was watching was shot using multi-colored light filters throughout the entire review video which was immensely distracting. It just felt a little too artistically inclined when a watch review need not have such a skewed viewing perspective while trying to view an honest look at a watch through color filters. Yours isn't that bad, but, I feel one of your recent videos in the past bordered on a bit too much color passing over the watch.
Thanks for the feedback, with the switch to 4K, I've tried to update the format a touch for a more signature aesthetic. Also, it's always bothered me when I go back and see studio components in the reflections of the pieces and with the additional higher resolution, it can be even more apparent. It's all a work in progress thought and I'm doing my best to keep a balanced presentation.
I'm a right wrist wearer so this whole concept is useless and there is no way of taking it apart and switching it. Saying that it's healthy to change and I shall be wearing mine on the inside of my left wrist.

This was designed at the birth of the automobile. It is a driving watch. Hold your left arm at 10 o’clock like your hand is on the steering wheel.
Also designed to be worn on the inside of one's wrist so when you're holding the steering wheel the watch face is visible.
Beautiful and affordable ❤

Which strap did you find?

Perfect watch for those without elbows
So true
The strap of this batch is not good as before. The color is also lighter, not comfortable on wrist. There's no Baltany brand printed on the strap.
Worst watch for right hand watch wearers
Try wearing it on the inside of your wrist.

Not a right hand wearer, just a thought :p

No😂
Does it wear like a 40 or a 42 mm?
It does were slightly larger
Some of these field or dress watches, have a bigger dial than much larger dive watches, making them look larger
@@henryperez606 yeah, I love the design but it's too large, and thick!
Baltany needs to make a 36mm version.
