Great review. I agree. I thought it was scary and left me very unsettled. Luke James should be nominated for an Emmy. I can't remember a character that was as equally disturbing and sympathetic as his Edmond
This season of Them might be one of the scariest things I have ever seen on tv. There were moments, especially when they discover the initial crime scene, that reminded me of how I felt watching Seven for the first time. I really hope they make a 3rd season.
Season 1 was above average. Season 2 was GREAT. I wish more people were aware of it.
Now I have to watch Season 2
Luke James is one of the greatest villains I’ve ever seen in a movie he was so good that you felt bad for him
I didnt like the first season that much, but I LOVED the second season, Luke James was a spectacle to behold!
was ok i guess, last episode connects all to first season, because until then i was a bit lost.
the acting was good.
Same as season 1
Never heard of it, gonna give it a chance.
Im not a fan of jump scares
they need to make horror movies which scare me without jump scares = good horror movie
I need to get into season one loved season two
I definitely enjoyed Season 2. I would agree that marketing could’ve been better. I only knew of it because I follow Luke James on social media
I liked season 1 and had no idea there was a season 2 until a co-worker mentioned it!
prequel should be called They
The 1st season of them was really well done but hard to watch. A real wake up call.
I really liked Season 2. It was much more palatable to me than Season 1. Season 1 was very heavy on the black trauma specifically the mothers attack that caused them to move to CA. Luke James was phenomenal.
Whoop...so glad you watched this.
Me too!! I'm glad you told me it was out!
I agree. I don’t feel it was promoted well but I caught it! I finished it last weekend and it was creepy as hell. Luke James did an amazing job… scared the hell out of me. The elements of racial and generational trauma are kind of hard to stomach at times though. Especially in the first season. But I enjoyed it thoroughly. Lots of scares for any horror/suspense fan who wants to think as well.
Luke James... holy crap, dude was intense and disturbing - loved his performance!! I don't experience any of the injustices and threats because of my privilege, but I was incensed and so disgusted through both of the seasons at the blatant hatred displayed. I know it's there and real, but it also makes me want to do very bad things to real people who act/think like Det. McKinney or Betty Windell.
Wow! 4 1/2 couches!!! I'll have to add this to my watch list :)
It's intense!!
So the same actress who played mom in 1st season is playing the detective in this, okay! Season 1 was pretty insane from what i remember that kinda turned into horror a bit later, if I'm not wrong lol. From 70s to early 90s season 2, interesting. which one do you preferred more? This or season 1.
I enjoyed both for different reasons. In s1, the neighbors are very unsettling and angering with their bigotry... and while there are horror elements in s1, s2 leans more heavily on the serial killer/thriller sort of horror while still effectively weaving in the condemnation of racism.
4 and half 😮
Nice
Can you watch season 2 and not 1? Or will it not make sense?
You can watch s2 without seeing s1, but there are a few moments that will be way more impactful if you've seen s1.
Couldn't watch the 1st season past episode 3, was too on the nose and flared my ptsd. Nope, one can show without saying, abd i wished the director went that way
As a Black person, shows like this just seem exhausting. Racism for entertainment is so ick.
I doubt your black and the shows racism is very realistic because it was subtle and you can see it happening still
@@Loveabounds. I am very much so Black and I am just personally tired of watching shows about racism especially ones that have connections to Lena Waithe.
fyi: actual Black people capitalize Black.
@@instructivesilence359 I also can’t stand Lena Waithe and I disliked the racial parts it was overplayed but I loved the Edmund show
I totally can see how using Black trauma can be both off-putting and tiring. For me, I like how shows like this can point out blatant bigotry and racism, but it would be awesome to be able to do so without creating ongoing and unnecessary trauma for Black audiences! I appreciate your insight!!

thank you so much for understanding my point of view!
