The Irony with Betty character was she had so much hate and fear of Blacks when it was her own people who caused her the most pain. Her father with molesting her, her mother resentment, her husband stealing from her and cheating on her with being a closet gay man and of course the milk man who she confines In kidnapping her than ultimately killing her. I think it was a powerful message.
No Betty’s husband is cheating on her with a black woman. Lmao That’s what the officer meant when he said some of the guys said they saw you on the other side hanging with those other folks. Lmao he was talking about the other side of Compton that was predominantly black.
The scene of the oldest daughter in class and the monkey noises and the pink slip.............. i had to take a damn break now I’m almost done... i screamed “they got me f*caked up..”
Yeah fr, that one hit my real hard and it just made my heart hurt for my little cousins who are black and mixed. I can’t imagine the damage I’d do if I ever saw someone treat them like that. For some reason that scene hit me a lot harder than most of them.
👏 everyone needs to see it. Especially white people. Everyone needs to see what was done to black people and is being done. It was raw, real and a shocking point of view for whites. They cant even walk into a store without being stared at. The ptsd that they deal with omg
Sickk. Especially having my baby son, sleeping upstairs. There's very little chance that would happen today. But, the thought of that happening to my ancestors makes me so sick and angry!!
I think the shows purpose is to shed light on how the horrible racist experiences black people suffered can seriously affect you mentally. The family suffered a tragedy and all of them suffered mental breakdowns (the ghosts). A very unique way to show the effects of racism on the black psyche. 10/10 for depth and creativity. I’m black and not offended at all, we need black art like this.
Right, I loved this show. As a black person, I thought it was a creative and effective way to show how racism and hatred can really effect someone psychologically.
@@wintersummer1633 just because she didn’t mention the man does not mean that she’s sexist. Just because you compliment one person does not mean you’re putting everyone else down.
Stories centered around black trauma isn't the problem. The problem is many of these films come off exploitive and hollow. That's when we complain and get frustrated, because black trauma isn't handled with the care it should. Nobody has a problem with well made movies like Get Out or Judas and The Black Messiah.
@vercenary it makes you think. how black people dealt with this. It’s heartbreaking. And they never had hate back towards people being evil to them. They just wanted to be in peace. That’s gods people
The thing with Betty’s husband I thought was interesting. It’s not obvious but they allude to the fact that he’s a closeted gay man. This would explain why, out of all of them, he seemed to not to want to engage in the horrific actions of the other neighbors towards the Emorys. I felt like he felt like an outsider, so in some ways he felt like he related to the Emory family because he knows that he would also be ostracized if his truth came out as well. It was a little subtle thing thrown in there that not everyone would pick up on, but I thought it was an interesting addition.
I’m still trying to figure out who was the intended audience for this series. I would never watch this again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I cared about 🤷🏾♀️ the African American actors were beautiful and beautifully shot tho’. All that melanin 🤗
@Ali Shook Black American actors get tons of roles, what are you talking about? Minus one, all the black Oscar nominees this year are black Americans who played black Americans. The "British are taking all the jobs!!!" narrative is highly exaggerated.
I saw ol girl’s husband as going to gay bars. That’s why he kept disappearing. I wish we could’ve seen him at the bars and even the police officers seeing him since it was mentioned but oh well
Yup exactly sooo true, I’m glad that was in the show because people like the KKK always fuelled there hatred by saying “God made whites for whites and blacks for black or everybody stay with there own” an things like “ other races were meant to serve whites”...KKK and racist people take Gods word and flip it around as an excuse to hate and spread racism.
Religion is interpreted incorrectly which fuels racism. Mr. Epps totally misunderstood the WORD and activated an internal hate that was always there for the "African Race" You can tell he fought what felt natural to him because he was on GO when it was time to hate on the husband and wife migrates.
Why I’m not I want white people to keep getting reminded that we haven’t forgotten their true selfs because when you forget the past it repeat it’s self

This show was freaking brutal. I don't know why these kind of shows are Still being made. Get Out/Us was done brilliantly without getting too much on the nose. This one I can't take it and it's so frustrating to watch. But it's true, the acting from the main family was Amazing.
I love seeing beautiful "black" people on screen. But I can't with constent trauma and suffering. We know it happened and still happens, but I just can't sit thru and entire series centered around trauma, and racism. But the cast looks amazing!! I just want to see us as royalty, and the strong warriors that we once were and still are. We have too many stories to tell, yet we fall back to either hood movies, racism, slavery...I just can't keep seeing these same images.
I agree. It seems the main black film/tv that gets promoted is centered around our trauma to some degree. Can we please get a happy show about black people? Successful black people that don't have to deal with racism at every turn in their lives? Our lives have enough of these elements that we dont always wanna see it on screen. especially to the degree our ancestors had to go through. It's important to keep these stories alive, but feels like it is the only thing be shown recently. I like watching lighter content about black people like Insecure. Characters are fun, problems aren't as serious, and shows a nice perspective of black youth. More variety please that is not traumatic!
@@Ray03595 I agree 100%. I am just so tired of always seeing "Black" pain and trauma. We have happiness, joy, beautiful stories to be told that shows love and success. Those type of shows and movies just weigh heavily on us. We just need to see a broader view of ourselves. Just stories of us as people without all the objectification.
Maybe it was the way I interpreted it but I definitely walked away from the show viewing the entire family, but especially Lucky as a total badass warrior who isn’t going to take any more bullshit.
@@Aprylbaby I agree. However, this is a broader view of ourselves. There's plenty of films and television shows that depict us in every facet of life. However, the horror genre has always excluded us. Despite horror classic, Night of the Living Dead, featuring a black man as the hero and "last man standing." But then it all went sideways and Hollywood cast us simply to be the first one to get killed. Even Candyman, should've had a narrative about vengeance against the descendants of his slave masters, had him falling in love with them?!! There's almost always a reference to the Holocaust in projects featuring Jews.
Black woman here that loves the show and many other horror TV shows but we're all open to our own opinion. From a horror lovers stand point they bodied this
There was a lot of hidden gems and messages in this show which made it very enjoyable to me. This show seems very complex with hidden information and clues that I felt the writing was amazing. Maybe you can rewatch it to see if you have a different view on it.
My Father is an engineer, and faced a lot of what the Dad in this series went through as far as treatment etc from his job and would tell us about it.. we were the only Black family in our neighborhoods growing up, I was the only black girl in my class and so was my siblings,so a lot of stuff in this show hit home for me. It is a sad truth
Omg... I sat yesterday and binge watched, but when they really showed what happened to the baby... I couldn't stop thinking about it... that was the saddest thing I've ever watched, my stomach and chest hurt to think that this were things that probably happened in real life... nobody deserves that.
I think a lot of people missed the point of the series and what the characters symbolize. Henry is haunted by the n word mindset/ toxic masculinity and how it’s difficult to operate in society in this mindset. Lucky is haunted by unresolved trauma and the fact that the construct of mental health as well as her family has failed her. The “prophet” symbolizes the lasting effects racism in religion has played. Gracie is haunted by generational trauma of her mother, it also shows how the school system has labeled black children as difficult when they are dealing with trauma at home. Ruby is haunted by the Beauty standards of America as well as Chester is a representation of how black boys aren’t protected even in their own home. All of this is relevant because it’s still going on today. Betty’s character symbolizes that hate is often caused by trauma and those who live by their trauma and hate die while still holding on to hatred. The show could have been written better but it was good for what it was. I really liked this series
Yes!!! You hit the nail on the head, I enjoyed the series for what it was too even tho episode 5 was hard to watch it was necessary and made an impact...
@@Ncnnn29 yeah episode 5 was rough to watch, but another example of how black women aren’t protected..... and the way Henry dealt with it was just horrible
Although the subject matter was horrific as you know shit like this happened, I absolutely loved this show and I totally binged watched it. The actress that played Lucky was so beautiful and loved how strong her character was.
It's not black people who need to know & see that this stuff happened. It's THEM. We don't need to keep being exposed to ou trauma just so THEY can get it.
@@VanityLuxe and the thing is, I’ve noticed a lot of other white people who watch stuff like this and Get Out don’t realize that they’re the villain in the story. It was hard for me to come to terms with at first, and realizing it involves a lot of introspection many people don’t have.
Betty's escape from her underground prison was not a clever plot, nor was Luck escape from the asylum. Henery's escape was thought through. We were shone axes on display at a hardware store, then again under Luck's feet when she woke from her nightmare, a third time when she held the ax threatening her baby girl, so when Ruby grabbed it to help free her father, it was a nice payoff.
I think stories like this are important especially when they make people uncomfortable this is what people went through. you know how many white people think everything got better for black peoples as soon as the slaves were freed we shouldn’t shy away from stuff like this cause it’s hard to watch.
no because these movies have come along every few years and TV shows to show us that YES racism existed for a long time. It also exists in China and Russia, and Japan and the middle east and many parts of the world. But until recent history all black could be was struggling and in pain or the funny sidekick. There are ways to explore black pain without us constantly having to watch black bodies mutilated on camera.
My grandmother lived in Torrance, California (12 miles from Compton) during her high school years - the mid to late 50's. Last year she told me that during those times, Torrance was absolutely a "sundown town". Her father, my great-grandfather, had to personally drive their black housekeeper back to her residence once her job was over for the day for safety reasons. (Please don't be fooled- this isn't me boasting of how tolerant he was. He wasn't. My grandmother also admitted that her parents would not have approved of a black son-in-law.) That's partially why I at first wanted to watch this show - I wanted to see how they wanted to portray Southern California at that time. However, I know that I cannot be the decider on whether or not this show is productive in terms of the impact the creators were hoping it would have. Thank you for reviewing this series and being honest with your opinion.
To be honest this show is disturbing to watch. Its messed up to me because of its constant traumatic events, horrible events really!" There is a beautiful cast of black actor's and actresses in this film. Its just heartbreaking because its a constant reminder of the suffering black Americans faced. Not really sure what the message is if they are trying to send a message in this film. Kinda made me mad. Sorry!
If you look closer, it’s deeper than that. It analyzes the white communities trauma as well, there’s no winner in the racist system. Folks like Betty end up dead and alone, buried by the violence they perpetuate.
I couldn't finish the series. I felt the concept was lazy and unoriginal. We've seen the black family moving into an all white neighborhood in other films/shows before. Adding the psychological thriller aspect to it doesn't make it more interesting. We are more than capable of doing horror without it being tied to the trauma of racism. It's getting old.

I don't understand the "I'm tired of black trauma" stories. So y'all want stories about the 1950s black life to be sugar coated? Or to pretend that racism isn't apart of our history or daily lives. That's why we are still dealing with this carp today. People don't want to solve the problem, they want to hide the problem, forget about it and hope it will disappear
I agree. Those who say that miss the point of this series. It's more than events happening in the past-it’s current events. So current that people from that era on either side are STILL ALIVE. I feel like most people forgot this was supposed to be a horror series. You’re supposed to feel uncomfortable and scared that’s the point of horror and psychological thrillers. And I understand wanting to see better representations of black families however when doing period pieces especially if you’re a Director doing a horror piece with a black family you’d be remiss not to highlight the horrors of being black in that time. I understand people not wanting to consistently see Black people going through such trauma however this was the reality for a lot of our ancestors and older relatives and if it’s scary for you watching it imagine how scary it was for them actually living it. The issue shouldn’t be why are shows like this still being made. The issue should be why are so many Black people afraid or offended by other black creators creating horror and psychological thrillers around our history, especially when they’re doing the same thing that white people have been doing for years in film. The issue is that too many Black people I want to see themselves represented in media like white people and that’s never gonna happen.
@M S lol 😂 here comes the bs, I never said anything about there not needing to be more variety of how Black people are viewed in horror. What i said was that given that this horror piece centered around a Black family in the 50’s it makes that the subject matter was what it was. But if you are offended by my clearly thought out response then tough shit. This was the reality of Black people of that time maybe you should read more and talk after more research is done on your part.

Yeah damn why can't we just see a dark beautifully melanated family living their best live! Why do they always have to suffer slavery, gangsterism, trauma, horror. I can't anymore!
The amazing thing I think this show represented is the mental trauma. The one thing never really explored in many shows is how the black history with all its horrific experiences left people mentally broken. It really got me to think more on what our ancestors went through not only physically where they had to endure extreme torture but also the emotional and mental suffering they faced.

Just so heartbreaking to see the Emorys having no options - consequences for fighting back but can't sit by while all this is being inflicted upon them by their neighbors either. Sadly indictive of the times.
If you’re calling this torture porn it’s most likely because you don’t understand horror movies. This show is a hard pill to swallow. I feel like the series could have had more breaks from the trauma because it’s painful to see a black family go through the trials the Emory’s went through, but i also feel like it’d be taking away from the seriousness of racism the writers were trying to depict. From camera angles to historical accuracy to acting, this show was crazy good.. but seriously hard to watch. Politically, i do want to see more black films where black people are not seen in struggle or fetishized. That doesn’t mean burn this series at the stake💯😭

I felt the same as you did, that's why I stopped watching at episode 6. It was a lot of torture without a purpose, the initially introduced the Ms. Vera demon but never followed it up before introducing every other horrifying thing on top of it. It was like watching a kid pull out toys and never play with them or want to put them back.
Seems executives are only approving shows that center around black trauma. Something set in the past that exploits our suffering. Or something set in the present that has us in the hood, being poor, usually elements of drugs/violence/gang activity. We are SO MUCH MORE THAN THIS!
Yet they put THEMSELVES in our place and shoes literally when it comes to ruling kingdoms and being nobility ALL THROUGHOUT FACTUAL HISTORY. They changing statues to repainting art works but still actual FACTS are facts hidden and covered or not.
I honestly wasn’t ready for just how harrowing and upsetting this show was going to be. It took a toll on myself and my wife. Very rough subject matter and very thought provoking. There’s a lot of systemic evil in this world, has been, will continue to be...
After episode 5, I cut the tv off and just sat in silence. I don't think I can continue this series. Even though I have not watched it all, It seems that this series is more for the racist to watch. Like it was made more for them to enjoy. But when I tell you I am soooo hurt, angry, and disturbed and my thoughts have taken a very very bad turn. At this point I'm just going to Pray and hope I get a good nights sleep cuz this show has awakened a side of me I didn't know I had.
The most ironic part of the series: The white people in Compton were so suspicious of the black family that moved into the neighborhood, that they missed the real danger from the milk man that the women were drooling over. I had to replay the part where Betty thought she was escaping a few times. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving character.
That scene of the oldest daughter putting on white paint.. was so powerful! I still believe the Ghost/Apparitions are a metaphor of the internalized trauma of the black people because of the hateful past (which is not really long ago) .. its like PTSD not from war, but from history.
The whole point of that whole scene is to showcase her family life and giving clues to how she was raised..the scene with the drawing of the bath actually does in fact elude to incest cuz that's what happened, not only that but the mom new because she left the room early to go grab the towels... I understand people think her sub plot makes no sense but it REALLY DOES. This family dynamic is showcasing her control issues (being abused becoming abuser), also the fact that she craves the white picket fence and live "right" because she was abused growing up. Add to the fact that she is met with a beautiful family that was able to move into her neighborhood, when she cant afford to leave the neighborhood she lives in herself. She is TRAPPED by everything in her life, and now she is using what power she thinks she has to ruin others.
The thing that I hate about the Betty trauma arc is trying to justify her violence and hatred towards the Emory family. Like why humanize this character? What audience does this pander to? Are we supposed to feel bad for her? It's just so frustrating
Why wouldn’t you humanize the character? It’s to show that she has no superiority and isn’t better off in her life for what she’s doing. She’s haunted by her personal demons as well, we just don’t see them.
People like to forget that explanation =/= excuse. A show or movie can show why a character became the way they were without it excusing their horrible actions.
I don't think the show was trying to humanize her at all. They were attempting to show how Bette's hatred blinded her to the point where she spent so much time hating the Emorys that she ignored her gay husband was cheating on her and stealing her money, her own father molested her, and the milk man she thought she can trust ends up killing her. Yet she perceived the Emorys, who, in fact, did nothing to her at all, when in reality it was all the men who were "supposed to protect her" who were the REAL threat to Bette. Her character was treated with a sense of irony. We were never meant to sympathize with her.
What's the hardest black movie you've ever watched? Rosewood maybe? I've seen Rosewood more than once, but I could never watch THEM again. It definitely creates a conversation about mental health in the black community and what people may have been going through back then and even now. I think I can relate to the father a little too well in what he was going through at work.
There is a lot of layers in the writing as well as in the plots...this show has forest and trees...you have to adjust your perspective to fully get the picture
An amazing show with brilliant storytelling. This might be a very unpopular opinion, and maybe it doesn't matter because I'm white, but to me, this is one of the first shows / movies to really hit home the horrors of how brutal some people can be to each other just because of their skin. I also thought the tap dancing man was brilliant.
I'm in the same boat, I'm hearing alot of people talk about POC having trauma movies and shows primarily, which I agree with duh. But honestly I've watched alot of shit, and the filming and intenseness etc shed a whole view on what racism actually looks like in different forms. I'm super secluded in a super white area and I'm half white/hispanic so seeing this drawn out thing with the PTSD they have from other events is like HOLY FUCK. I enjoy how they really get into what red lining is etc.
Wow. I can imagine that being the case. My mom used to tell me something similar. When she was young, she did laundry for white neighbors and the husbands always paid her next to nothing for very large loads of farm work clothes. Their wives would sneak her an extra quarter or two. White women who have empathy have always known racism is wrong. The ones without empathy are worse than white racist men.
I just finished the series, I think it was very very well done. At first, I found the filming alittle unusual but as I got into it I really enjoyed everything they have to offer. There are some very disturbing scenes, it was uncomfortable, something none of us ever want to witness and certainly never ever want to go through. It brought to the surface how frightening it would be at that time as a black person trying to live the "Dream". The acting was phenomenal and these storylines need to be told and understood by everybody. It's a haunting series that even after you watch it you can't quit thinking about and trying to dissect the deeper meaning of it. GOOOOOOD series worth watching!
I feel like a lot of people don’t like that White people are the majority of the writing/directing team for this series, and the finger’s pointed at Lena Waithe for producing this (mind you I haven’t seen the show yet). I can understand the frustration cause I’m tired of seeing Black trauma on screen too. But aye, if people like it, it’s critically acclaimed (idk if it is) and it gets a season 2, Idk what can really stop shows like this being made 🤷🏽♂️
Definitely points out how religion and the Bible are used as a weapon, and also interpreted so support evil acts if racism. The last episode shows an "awakening " and realization of that as many black people today still rely on faith through the Bible as a source of hope which was learned through lifetime as a safe haven even though still experiencing racism and prejudice in America.
I really enjoyed the show, but this probably isn’t one that I would ever rewatch (this particular season I mean), because it’s just so dark and gritty. It had some fast paced episodes, and some slower ones that really felt like they dragged on a bit. I thought this would be a more in your face kind of horror show (regarding jump scares and more supernatural things), but this was more of commentary on racism and how it’s was and still IS a plague on AMERICA. This got a 3/5 from me.
I loved Them. I don’t understand this “black trauma” movie thing people are talking about. This is our history, this is what happened when we started integrating. Shit it’s still happening now. I’ve seen worst movies that were more screwed up in the sense of gore in other films and tv shows yet you don’t hear White people complaining about Trauma aka Serbian film and many others. This show has a message. Many messages actually and for some reason it’s not being seen. This brutality of our reality and why others do what they do to us is being shown in the film which surprised me. Our people willingly moved into white neighborhoods and put their children in white schools. My grandma told me what happened when we integrated schools in Mississippi and it’s similar and more worst than was seen in the show.
THANK YOU, someone understands that this is more than just a black trauma experience.

Stories centered around black trauma isn't the problem. The problem is many of these films come off exploitive and hollow. That's when we complain and get frustrated, because black trauma isn't handled with the care it should. Nobody has a problem with well made movies like Get Out or Judas and The Black Messiah.

@@eden20111 yes and no
You said this beautifully and articulated a point I've been trying to make.
You nailed it Julie 💯

Enyatta, exactly what I was thinking, I’m also a mother and that scene is VERY heavy, I was definitely not ready for that.

@@mr.flickyda-bean7221 Yeah, it was sci-fi. Not a lot of people knew it was literally going to be H.P. Lovecraft creatures and everything. I really enjoyed it. I wasnt a hug fan of lovecraft
I think the overall message of the story is hurt people hurt people and unless you face or heal the trauma it will haunt you and be passed from generation to generation.

Exactly. People are too focus on the external trauma, which is not allowing them to receive the real message of the show.
YES
I just finished this today and it definitely was an eye opening one. The woman, I forget her name....the actress who played Betty....she was chilling and terrifying. Her hatred was her own undoing. I felt like it made sense to me. I agree the writing was weak in spots but I loved Lucky's character. I feel like overall it was very eerie and terrifying seeing the very real systemic racism and hatred juxtaposed against the supernatural stuff happening in the neighborhood. I enjoyed it overall though.
Oh and also as always, I enjoy all the work you put into giving great reviews and content. I didn't word my comment as well as I should have....to say I "enjoyed" the show is to say it really had some moments that shook me. Just wanted to add that gratitude for all you do Sharonda! Much love!
Episode 5 of this show was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever seen (and I’m a big Horror fan in general). This entire series was gut-wrenching and infuriating overall, but episode 5 was next level. I’m pretty sure it’ll stick with me forever.

@Zero there was nothing wrong with this depiction. It showed perseverance of a black family and the reality of how we are viewed... still to this day. Like it or not. It is what it is
I don't understand the "I'm tired of black trauma" stories. So y'all want stories about the 1950s black life to be sugar coated? Or to pretend that racism isn't apart of our history or daily lives. That's why we are still dealing with this carp today. People don't want to solve the problem, they want to hide the problem, forget about it and hope it will disappear
They definitely didn’t sugar coat this. I watched it for the history but it just got too demonic for me. And I’m not that religious.
black people did many things that involve joy and resistance in the 50s while navigating racism. they did more than be tortured.
I agree. Those who say that miss the point of this series. It's more than events happening in the past-it’s current events. So current that people from that era on either side are STILL ALIVE. Our history is an unpleasant chain of events, but that doesn't mean we should avoid it. When we say that we’re “tired” of these types of stories we should really think about those who were there enduring it.
@@kitaboo2245 I never said it was entertainment. My point is that it opens more doors to conversation about a point in our history that some of us weren’t aware of. Plus if we don’t want to watch it, we can just turn it off. Those who lived it however, still deal with it.
@@giveusbarabbas7138 Exactly! We've been indoctrinated to believe that trauma, torture and pain is all the story we have as Black people. It's utter ridiculousness and insulting.

Great summary! You hit it right on the head with “What is actually the point of this?”. Yes it gave perspective to the past and how that horrific racism withstands today. But it was just hard to watch in general especially when I see the worst stories of racism happening every day. Given the past few weeks we’ve had, the timing of this just made me way too depressed. It took me a long time to finish it. Let’s have less black trauma and more black TRIUMPH please!!
The horror concept black people understand. It's the trauma of brutality that racism brings.
@M S AMENT!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
@M S lol 😂 here comes the bs, I never said anything about there not needing to be more variety of how Black people are viewed in horror. What i said was that given that this horror piece centered around a Black family in the 50’s it makes that the subject matter was what it was. This came out during the trial on purpose. They are really trying to break us as a community. We have to stay strong and uplift each other. This ain't it.

This show opened my eyes 👀 to the racism around me even today in 2021.

Honestly this show should not be looked down upon bc stories like this happened all the time. History may never be forgotten.
Anika Noni Rose in this show oh yes this is nice. Love her
I hated they dragged her into this with that fake chipper southern demeanor and highly drawn on eyebrows.
I feel the same about the racist white lady's character. Her sub plot made no sense. There's a couple of sub plots that don't make sense.
Everyone in her life that hurt her was white...
Did you get a hint of incest when she went to see her parents and her dad was drawing her bath?
@@ellehilliard7187 I did! I hate that they didn’t expand on that enough.
I think it was to show why she was the way she was .
@@EM-et4jq to me the plot just didn’t feel necessary
@@danta8592 this is a good point, thank you!
Real life is horrifying
I'm in the same boat, I'm hearing alot of people talk about POC having trauma movies and shows primarily, which I agree with duh. But honestly I've watched alot of shit, and the filming and intenseness etc shed a whole view on what racism actually looks like in different forms.
I'm super secluded in a super white area and I'm half white/hispanic so seeing this drawn out thing with the PTSD they have from other events is like HOLY FUCK. I enjoy how they really get into what red lining is etc.
It’s a fresh tomato with critics and a rotten one with audiences. Your review is so on point!
Good review. I grew up in a white neighborhood from the time I was 3 yrs old. I could only play with the neighbors kids when the fathers were at work.
@@PaperMario64 bingo the ones without empathy are WORSE than the men quiet as it’s kept
But aye, if people like it, it’s critically acclaimed (idk if it is) and it gets a season 2, Idk what can really stop shows like this being made 🤷🏽♂️
It just seems like this is the only blk stories to get produced. Especially if it is going to feature a dark melanated family.
Ryan Kwanten from True Blood as George the milk man wow that was a shock 😳
And the devil priest from Season 5 as one of the Authority that got staked by Russell Edgington.
