The close shot of the leopard was superb and must've been an emotional experience to see such a beautiful, beautiful animal so close. But for me, the distant shots of it walking across the rock face were even better - they really showed the scale of the environment, the agility of the leopard and told a better story. Just stunning.
Took me by surprise but, out of nowhere, 23:54 I suddenly felt very emotional when the snow leopard passed close by and we shared your once in a lifetime moment. Epic.
The video editing, storytelling and the timelapse....it is like a new level! It felt as if I were there myself. Its incredible how smooth the snow leopard is walking through the mountains! Thanks for the effort making these videos.
I am a great believer in the harder you work for something the luckier you become, and to capture the snow leopard as you did just goes to prove it. Absolutely fantastic photo 👌
Exactly...heck, I just use my camera phone. I have 2 cameras that someone gave me but it takes time to figure out how to use those and honestly I have trouble seeing clearly through them because my left eye is not as sharp as my right one (I've had 2 surgeries on each eye). Usually I'm taking photos in a rush!
You don’t need a tripod if you use a high enough shutter speed. And if you’re taking video with a telephoto lens, the camera models have image stabilization in the camera body. Plus you have an image stabilization in the legs.
@@lauraslanesvanlifetravels Don't give up on the "real" cameras please!! I have eye problems too...but with modern cameras, digital...even manual lenses can be used with the focus assist. Please, sit back when you have free time, find and read the manuals...try things out..with a little practice you can get it. I saw this because with a real camera with interchangeable lenses, you CAN do things you just can NOT do with a cell phone camera...laws of physics, lenses etc. Good Luck!! :)
It great you saw one, and indeed an amazing experience. I have conflicting feelings about the whole idea though, the amount of people - drivers, spotters and photographers - and amount of time pursuing this solitary creature, almost stalking it.
I’m thrilled you actually got a few shots, but you really didn’t seem to have any idea as to how elusive these cats are? Did you look at the BBC Snow leopard films and think I could do that? Did you watch the Vincent Munier Oscar winning film and think how hard can it be? Well now you have the concept and let’s see if you have some newly found deep respect for hard core wild cameramen!
Wow, Thomas, your narration made it feel like I was right there with you. Stunning and breathtaking photos. Thank you so much for taking us along for the ride 🙏❤️
Mongolia is such a beautiful untouched country . Just absolute raw beauty . Thank you so much for sharing with us . Think we have all seen the documentary with exotic Cats . These Beautiful beasts are so elusive. Even if you just saw a fleeting glance of one of these beautiful animals. Me for one I would be right chuffed . Regards Mart .
WOW, what an experiance this whole trip is. This is one of those things I will never experiance on my own so watching your vidoes is awesome for me. Thank you!
I always think, you don't need to go far and just love your Lake District video's to watch. But I must admit............this stuff is incredible! Great, great work!!!
Two of my absolute favorite episodes. Love the landscapes, adventure, and your energy and excitement in it. The specialness of the trip and the moments shines through. Thanks for sharing!
What a way to get through Hump day, started with epic camel photography, got a goat and ended with the most epic snow leopard shot to date. That staredown into the camera was amazing. Also side note, loved the story line and the way you give suspense of finding the snow leopard.
ISO 7,000. It must've quite dark by the time you finally saw it. Seems like it would be difficult to get near an animal like that with all those vehicles and people.
What a rare and incredible experience Thomas! Love all these images and my favorite is the camels in the distance with the colored hills behind them. You're so lucky to be able to experience these trips. Thanks for sharing with us.
15:14 Big cats are extremely elusive, contrary to popular opinion. Spiti Valley in India is another place you may want to research for snow leopards and the ridiculously gorgeous landscapes.
Truly Amazing I doubt many people will ever get to experience a snow leopard in the flesh. I know you are a landscape photographer by trade but I am loving this wildlife adventure as it’s my great past time hobby.
That Snow Leopard was checking you out as much as you were looking at it. It is an incredible privilege to get so close to an animal that would rather be left alone to hunt and raise cubs in the Altai mountains.
Followed you for years This is one of your best yet. Yeah, the scenery & snow leopard images were great. But what really made this vid, was your story telling - hints, twists and turns all the way, with an epic, hoped for, but unexpected finale. Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow, I almost cried when I saw those beautiful creatures captured by your camera. You are an amazing photographer. Bow to your professional works. Regards from Mongolia with love.
This really reminded me of the secret life of Walter Mitty where Sean Penn was looking for the snow leopard. One of my favourite scenes and this video captured exactly that as well. Thanks Thomas for sharing this moment with us.
Been looking in for a few years now, and this is the best to date. The ibex shot on the mountain edge is spectacular. And your new comfort of vlogging while people are around has improved the videos. This one was great.
I was in tears at the end of this (as were others in this blog). Wonderful narrative to-camera storytelling, editing, and music. Than for taking us along on this quest.
fantastic shots of the snow leopard... gives me chills... rare creatures in the wild is what I wish to see more of in life... wolves... leopards, polar bears...
Absolutely stunning video 😍😍. My favourite image was the very first image of camel against that golden colour sky. Wow just wow 🤩 was a bit worried when you were climbing up the hill in the end. Looked dangerous
As all have said this is a very special trip for you to a very special place. I am 80 yr old and am extremely jealous that I cannot do this extreme adventure anymore so a BIG thank you for taking me there. One question - your guides seem to be mostly (all?) in camo and you have a bright orange parka. Here in the US we generally would not wear bright outer gear when stalking wildlife. Looking forward to the next episode. Well done you.
For me, my favourite photo was of the silhouetted mountain goat on the ridge. I literally gasped when that one came on. Until I saw the last image of the snow leopard!! WOW!!
You did make me laugh - expecting a snow leopard behind every rock!! Welcome to the world of wildlife photography!!! (Well jealous of your trip though!) 👍
OMG I got goose bumps when you got the closer experience with the snow leopard. The movie clip of him walking across the side of the mountin was stunning as it showed the scale of the cats teerrain. Just incredible. I was so pleased for you and that perfect last image as he looked back at you. Just stunning. What an amazing trip so far.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda ..... such is life🤗. No heath and safety lol, you mean you don't have your portable defibrillator with you 😱. That climb looked hard, I don't know if I would have made it 😲 The landscape image with the camels is sweet, saw the image on your Instagram, the color layered background is epic.👍👍
2:04 Brilliant it's like a scene out of star wars, 2:43 I like the way the cloud mirrors the sand hill 4:03, the colours in the dunes wow! 4:45 yes the camels make it 7:08 great layers, back to starwars again 9:49 very arty, perfect, 22:41 Stunning, great pose and expression, thanks for a fabulous Video
What a superb environment for photography. Stunning light and scenery - Mars like even! The shot of the graceful snow leopard meandering across the rocks was awesome.
I love this Mongolia series! For your next big trip, I would love to see you shoot in the remote Southern Alps of New Zealand. I used to live there and can tell you it's got a mixture of what you loved in Iceland, Norway, and Mongolia, plus some gold rush ghost town ruins out in the middle of no where.
Great efforts here, amazing landscape, epic moments! Thanks for sharing! Just a quick tip as a wildlife photographer, you can get much better results if you start feeding the animal regularly on a prefered spot that will work for the photo and build some hide around or camera trap can be an alternative. Vincent Munier has some stunning shoots about this beautifull animal. Keep up good work, I really like you videos.
Everything comes to he who waits. Snow leopard picture was fantastic along with the other images. The layers and colour palette of the landscape is amazing as you say as if it was painted, great video Tom 👍🏻
Your latest video was maybe the best you've done! One of the best RUclips videos ever! I hate tripods, relying on built in stabilizer! But one still needs one! rats! The last images of your target, superb. BRAVO!
Absolutely stunning Thomas surpasses anything Ive seen of yours before you must be in dreamland, and boy do you deserve it the work you have put in so far is astonishing, that climb to see the snow leopard true adventurism I'm humbled just watching it many many thanks for allowing us to be part of this adventure. 👌❤
At this point I'm vicariously living through your travels!!! Thank you so much for our immersion therapy!!! Oh yeah... photos too!!! :) Add on... some of your panoramas of the area brings this childhood experience back to mind... “Beautiful, beautiful. Magnificent desolation.” - NASA astronaut Buzz Aldrin as he followed Armstrong onto the moon's surface.
Truly unbelievable work in both videography and photography! The amount of effort you put into this video is award-winning! Indeed, I feel as if I’m there with you! Thank you for sharing these unique experiences!

Yeah, it was a cool moment.
Same! I think the rarity of such a sighting and genuine happiness for Thomas being able to see it first hand and to share it with us. Incredible!
Yes me too, I actually had tears, wtf
The moment in the video where the Snow Leopard appeared brought tears to my eyes. Just so beautiful.
At 20:00 was anyone else cringing and saying "Watch the camera! Watch the camera!" LOL!
Brilliant again, Tom! Looks like you may have found a new calling as a wildlife photographer.....Reckon you're hooked!
I think you proved one thing. A photographer can take wonderful photos hand held, instead of dragging around a tripod all the time. Great video.
Exactly...heck, I just use my camera phone. I have 2 cameras that someone gave me but it takes time to figure out how to use those and honestly I have trouble seeing clearly through them because my left eye is not as sharp as my right one (I've had 2 surgeries on each eye). hell, if you brace yourself enough you can manage 2sec exposure handheld thanks to IS (at least I did on a XH2)@@frednorman1

Absolutely, but not all of the time.
It great you saw one, and indeed an amazing experience.

I love the Bob Ross reference. Glad you were able to see the snow leopard again after so many days of no luck. That image at the end was worth it.
22:34 "Ugh, paparazzi again."
Mongolia is such a beautiful untouched country .

I even got emotional seeing the snow leopard when watching your outstanding footage from the comfort of my home in Toronto, Canada.
The Toronto zoo has a snow leopard or two but not quite the same 😂
WOW, what an experiance this whole trip is. This is one of those things I will never experiance on my own so watching your vidoes is awesome for me. Thank you!

I can just say! Your Mongolian adventure videos have been amazing. Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers from LA.
Love the goat image!
What a way to get through Hump day, started with epic camel photography, got a goat and ended with the most epic snow leopard shot to date. That staredown into the camera was amazing. Also side note, loved the story line and the way you give suspense of finding the snow leopard.
Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of the camel image too 👍
Peak Heaton. Pun indended reminds me of your early videos from a small tent years ago.
AWESOME...wow just wow....Amazing landscape and the leopard....grey ghost....OMG
15:14 Big cats are extremely elusive, contrary to popular opinion. Spiti Valley in India is another place you may want to research for snow leopards and the ridiculously gorgeous landscapes.
Such beautiful and elusive animals. I'm surprised you didn't know how elusive they can be. You're very fortunate to have seen one.
21:40 such an elegant creature
Love your positivity. No matter the circumstances you see the beauty in every challenge you faced. Great video and beautiful images! 📷

So glad you got that encounter with such a magnificent cat!
Nine days later I'm back watching this video again.... and I hope to watch it several more times. What a magnificent adventure!
I once saw the last 3 inches of a snow leopard’s tail and that was amazing! To see a whole one wow.
Another magnificent day of photography in Mongolia. Next episode promises to be even more rewarding.
I have enjoyed watching your Mongolia adventure and looking forward to next weeks video
Woah!!! That last shot of the snow leopard... 🎉🎉

Outstanding video once again. Not many true wildernesses left but Mongolia certainly remains one.
Fantastic. Cullercoates beach is gonna look a bit tame now !!
Haha. Never.
fantastic shots of the snow leopard... gives me chills... rare creatures in the wild is what I wish to see more of in life... wolves... leopards, polar bears...
Absolutely stunning video 😍😍. My favourite image was the very first image of camel against that golden colour sky. Wow just wow 🤩 was a bit worried when you were climbing up the hill in the end. Looked dangerous
What an emotional experience for you all! To climb up so far and not see the snow leopard would be so disappointing - but you saw it! Fantastic!

It’s a weekly treat for us to watch your videos. Top class content in your coverage. Can’t wait for the next video. Thank you
The production quality of this series is insane! Much respect 😊
For me, my favourite photo was of the silhouetted mountain goat on the ridge. I literally gasped when that one came on. Until I saw the last image of the snow leopard!! WOW!!
9:47 Superb, Thomas!
Fantastic series and advert to my beloved country , hats off.
You did make me laugh - expecting a snow leopard behind every rock!! Welcome to the world of wildlife photography!!! (Well jealous of your trip though!) 👍
The snow leopard shot is super.
Amazing series. Thank you for outstanding effort on location and in the editing room. 🇨🇦
20:02 Almost,... very close 😂 💥
This has to be the trip of a lifetime. I'm enjoying the ride. I would never have imagined that Mongolia was so beautiful but now I see.
This is simply stunning. What a great video this week and such mesmerising landscapes !!
You've become quite the wildlife shooter! It's good to stretch yourself sometimes. You have a whole new world ahead of you!
What amazing beauty with limited vegetation and trees. Amazing images and videos!
What a result, that last bit when the leopard appeared behind you, brought a tear to my eye

Wow!! what a wonderful encounter to a mountain ghost. Amazing!!
Amazing video! As a Mongolian sooooo happy to see my country!
Did a big fist pump when you got the eye contact image with the leopard. Amazing.
Great one Thomas, looking forward to the next episode!
So pleased you got the second shot, amazing creatures
Wow, what an incredible experience and so well documented. More wildlife photography in the future, I do hope so!
Even when nothing is happening your videos are fun to watch. Thanks Thomas!
What a superb environment for photography. Stunning light and scenery - Mars like even! The shot of the graceful snow leopard meandering across the rocks was awesome.
~Today, Nikon released firmware 2.0 for the Z 8. Did they give you a pre-release version on this trip? For 180 MP landscapes .. and birds .. and ...

Everything comes to he who waits. Snow leopard picture was fantastic along with the other images. The layers and colour palette of the landscape is amazing as you say as if it was painted, great video Tom 👍🏻
so wonderful to see your beautiful images and even better to see your versatility

Emotional and wonderful work, loved this, congrats
I am very impressed that some of the bulkier guys got up that slope which even challenged Tom.
Stunning and really enjoyed the results after all of the false starts. More please 👍👏
Good Greif what a beautiful photo of the camel. The hump not breaking the threshold, perfect. I love it, well done.
Just beautiful. Every day there is an opportunity to see and capture something
9:39 wow !!!! i know its simple but there is art.
Wow that camel shot! Outstanding
Well done Tom, enjoying your video sitting here in the heat of summer watching you shoot in the polar opposite... Excellent video! 🇿🇦

Superb scenery, great video. Looks Cold 🥶. Keep well & stay safe. 👍🇬🇧
All I can say is WOW! I am so moved by this video series, what an experience…I’m loving every second. Well done!
Amazing adventure! We think the terrain is intense here in Colorado, but WOW! Thanks for bringing us along on this incredible journey.
Truly unbelievable work in both videography and photography! The amount of effort you put into this video is award-winning! Indeed, I feel as if I’m there with you! Thank you for sharing these unique experiences!
Fantastic! The video of the leopard traversing the cliff face was amazing.
Mongolia is a very difficult course for photography, bravo thomas. 🧿☕️
Incredible footage and great storytelling! I was rooting for you to find that leopard!
