  • After spending the night in a treehouse on Lake Ruhondo, my friends and I headed back to Kigali via the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund which opened in Kinigi in 2022. It's a really interesting museum dedicated to educating the public on the endangered mountain gorillas that live in the region, and to preserving the legacy of Dian Fossey.

🙏 Hi guys. Please don't contact me directly with travel questions and the like. I don't have a lot of free time and don't want to offend by not responding. It's best to leave a comment on the video. I do read most of them and your question will hopefully help others. 🙏

It's really interesting because, on the day we visited, there were loads more Rwandans than international tourists there. There were people from Kigali, a huge group from the local school for Deaf people. Even got to practice my sign language. There's a suggested $20 entrance fee (about 25,000 francs, which is a lot by local standards) but it is optional, which means that you can visit even if you don't have money. I think that's really important because it means locals can go as well.

Glad you like the music. It's a Sudanese-Swedish blues singer called Ebo Krdum. Stars with an instrumental piece called Dauba and the vocal track is called I'm Looking Ahead. I think there's a version of the first one on RUclips and the second is on Apple Music and Spotify.
