    Kinyarwanda is our only native language (almost every Rwandan speaks it, only the accent changes based on which part of the country they're from), French and English is only learned in schools, French is popular in older people (from over 30 years old) because we transitioned from French to English as the basic academic language in 2009, therefore all educated people under 30 years old speaks English (not fluently tho) as their second language after Kinyarwanda

    Yes! The language order you said is right:
    1. Kinyarwanda
    2. French
    3. English.
    Like you, I thought English was spoken more widely before arriving, but that is not the case.

      @Anton's Class. I am Rwandan, but I can assure you that most young people 25 or less can hardly speak serious French now. Sure, they understand it. But mostly would cope in English better. So, it depends on whom you deal with the most.

    • @AntonsClass
      @AntonsClass 2 года назад

      @@jeanmakara4823 that makes sense. I actually didn't encounter many French speakers while I was living in Kigali, so what you said makes sense.

      @dusabeor7794 Год назад

      @@AntonsClass we transitioned from French to English as basic academic language in 2009, and most of all educated youth live in Kigali that's why in the capital English is more spoken than French, and in rural areas it's hard to find somebody who had a chance to go to school because it wasn't that easy to study back then, even if you find them, most of them speaks French because they'd be of old generation

    It’s so sad if people want to retire to Rwanda you need to have a pension of 5000 US dollars I think that is unfair so you would have to have a 90 day visa then leave and come back the prices seem nice but in the country side when you see people living on 3 dollars a day I feel that should be reduced on the website it says 5000 us per month I can’t blame the government in one way but then well off people can only come and retire

    Is there a sales tax at the stores? Do you pay income tax on wages that you make at the hospital? How much cash can you bring into the country when you fly in? If I open a Bank account at a Rwandan bank, can I pay my bills, water, electricity etc. Buy linking those bills to my bank account like here in the United States? Those are also things I would like to know. I am a 60 year old White man, who has been looking for a place to perhaps marry, and retire and settle down. Maybe build and run a home/business cleaning service. Cleaning business by night and providing Maid and housing services to the wealthy. My problem so far has been that there are no "White" RUclipsrs saying anything about what it's like as a White man, let alone someone my age, what it is like to live there. Also health insurance, the price of a Auto plus insurance. Cost of repairs. Stuff like that. There is so many questions that other RUclipsrs don't answer. They all seem to focus on starting a business. So any help you could give me in these often overlooked subjects. At least it will give you more content for another video. Thanks.
