This was amazing, the underwater footage paired with a truly knowledgeable host. I watched it two or three times to make sure I caught all the small details. Truly captivating.
Hands down one of the very best presentations in this hobby. I know not everyone has the same vision I and Jake shared. I've seen this video many times.. not sure why I didn't comment before. I truly hope ReefBuilders would take this approach to continue the great work and line traced by Jake in this video.
RIP Jake 😢😢. I love reef tank and we have the same hobby. I don’t know you in personal but i know you as reef content creator. I am speechless and hmmm Jake, rest in peace. I am Sam From Indonesia. You’re truly missed !
Are yall going to post talks from the other 2021 Aquashellas? I was at Chicago in August but missed a few talks and would love to see them. Plus I'd really love to show other people the Project Piaba presentation
I look at our home reef aquariums as dioramas, little slices of ocean, or artistic interpretations. I love me some huge coral but not all of us have a swimming pool we're willing to convert 🙂 just funning... I am trying to go with large specimens in my tank though, thanks Jake :-)
camera is a bit better than my doogee samsung rip off :) actually, amazing how our reef tanks look better than the real thing haha the emerald green fish.. niccce
Great video! Im sorry corals are not animals. They are plants. Science pumped up the term to help the species. Show me a coral with a brain, lungs and a heart Ill change my mind. They are designed like plants.
Alright smart guy... By your definition, I suppose Jellyfish are plants too, then? What plants have a mouth to eat with? What about anemones? Those actually move! Are pitcher and Venus fly trap plants animals? They don't move. It's fine to have your own way of thinking about these creatures, but maybe show some hesitation when making big declarative statements like "corals are not animals". Your definition of what animals are is pretty crude. Way back in the day, scientists used to call corals "zoophytes", meaning something like "animal plants". I kinda like that term, to be honest. If we kept that term in circulation, I'd be willing to meet you half-way.
RIP Jake. Always loved your passion and knowledge of corals. Learned so much from you.

They aren't plants. Educate yourself, Google is free. What a dumbass comment 😂
@@madisongray2382 Show me the specialized organs that prove this is an animal.
Google is your friend buddy.
