You should put scans of the lace coffee dyed papers & marbled designs on your etsy shop! They are so gorgeous. I would definitely buy them as printables 😍
Great video! The marbling process you used makes lovely papers! Pam at The Paper Outpost does a technique stacking dry paper, covering with a stencil, spraying coffee solution, leaving the stencil on and then covering with another dry paper to get a reverse design from the dye on top of the stencil.
Before you get rid of that final tray of paint, try taking a toothpick and running it around like you did the end of the paintbrush. You may get a really cool design OR add a little white paint to separate the colors and then pull a print! That tray of goodness has to have more designs in it! LOL
Great. 👍 I can do this with my 4 years old daughter. And I am looking forward to watching the next video - Making your Own Paper. Thank you very much for sharing.💓
I’ve found when removing the cover from the text block that a seam ripper works the best . It makes it much harder to cut your cover . Also it gets in that small space and lets you cut right next to it.
I love doing marbled paper like this! I did it with my kids 2 summers ago and they loved it! I am going to try the coffee dying with the stencils...that is VERY COOL!
Just wanted to mention Love, Love Love this! Also, if you want to make gelli prints, but can't afford the plate...go to the Dollar Tree, buy light colored Jello, make it in a pan at "Jiggler" consistency and once it sets you have a gel printing plate that will last you a few days if kept in the fridge! I did this with a group if adolescents and they had a blast! Look up gelatin plate printing for the how to!
I've never tried that shaving-cream hack to create a Marbled Effect! Looks like I need to go to Dollar Tree & get the stuff to try to make some myself because your's are so pretty!
Wow the marbled paper turned out BEAUTIFUL!🌸Thank you for filming this. I have never seen this technique before. Definitely want to give it a try with some purple, pink and blue.
I’ve done the shaving cream painting before with food coloring and it turns out way better and I got probably 50 to 60 pages out of two of the pans. Also I think if you don’t push so hard it won’t muddy the paint so much
I really like coffee dyed papers. I’ve heard of the shaving cream method. Thank you for sharing sharing the technique💕! Looking forward to seeing what they look like💗🤗!
those marbled papers turned out really pretty. I love the shaving cream technique. I need to locate one of the plastic doilies. Julie has made some beautiful papers with them, too. $Tree has a new batch of books. I'll have my haul video on Saturday. Julie and I are both striving to do our journal in a day LOL. Creative Blessings!
"I would definitely NOT recommend putting it in the oven if you have one of those plastic ones. And I'm not gonna tell you how I figured that one out!" 🤣
Wow awesome thanks for sharing I now have an easier coffee die paper thank you and marbling i havr to try that it looks like so much fun and the paper came out great so so cool ..thanks a bunch i actually have the paint and shaving cream .
I made my own coffee dyed paper following your tutorial. It was so easy. Now my craft room smells like coffee. How long until the smell fades? It is really potent. LOL
Hi, just discovered your site on here and love the paper looking vintage doilies. And thanks for the site where they sell them. I can't find any that are heavy duty like these! Just subscribed and cant wait to see more of your tutes! TFS
I am going to join I have picked up about $12 of items today. I plan on using junk mail and items that would normally hit the recycling bin. I took the empty envelops from the mail I opened at work today
I remember the marble shaving cream method from back in my card making days. I wonder how the print will turn out if you place another piece of copy paper on top of the freshly dipped paper, before scraping the excess off?
I love this idea. I wish you would have talked about the process just a little more as I have never done this. Do you just keep layering shaving cream on the top? It looks like you can only do one sheet at a time. Do you empty the shaving cream and keep washing out the pan? I wish you would have shown the actual mixing of the paint with water and white. I can’t wait for the next video. I’m so excited to try these things. Thank you, Sandra.
Aww man I Seriously have a hard time leavi all that in becasue my video was 1.5 hrs and I guarantee I’d get complaints but I’ll def try and keep more in. So sorry! I can try and do another video on this soon. But I did just keep layering the shaving cream. I also just used a splash of water!
@@PaperTerrace Thanks for the response. I really wasn’t complaining. I’m learning so I soak up everything like a sponge. I love what you do and could have watched that video all day, like all your videos. Keep doing you. I’ll learn as we go. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
@@sandofthesun oh I didn’t think you were complaining one bit! But when I make long videos I really get so many mean comments. I need to remember so many people will appreciate it though and APPRECIATE your feedback!
@@PaperTerrace I think that would be awesome. For those of us just starting out, we look to you to learn. At least I do anyway! Maybe you could say it is the whole process for those interested. Why can’t people just be kind or move along quietly. Thanks again,Sandra.
Hi. Thank you for these tutorials. Just found them and am following along. I've tried a couple of different ways to get the lace design on my coffee dyed paper, but haven't succeeded. The lace pattern doesn't show up. Do you have any tips?
Could you use the black to make lines and swirl then having a color and black swirl??.. . I hope you get what I am thinking. Muddy color in the back ground and black swirl….?
Have you tried laying a fresh piece of paper on top of the first pressed paper before scraping the extra paint/shaving cream off? I wonder if that would give a second pass from one dipping. Things that make you go hhhmmm.
Did you by chance try the lace doilies you picked up? (The cloth ones?). I’ve been wondering if these would work. I haven’t been able to find lace vinyl placemats yet!
I have and you do get more of a polka dot effect than lace. I wish I remembered to show them. I’ll try and do that on one of the upcoming videos. I already have the next 3 videos filmed though...so it may be a few videos out! It’s hard to remember everything in one video haha
Hi Jessica, could you please link the plastic lace napkins on Amazon? I have spent so much time searching for plastic lace of any kind (tablecloths, doilies, napkins, etc. - can't find any on Amazon!), and have only found one very ugly set of plastic doilies at dollar tree. I don't blame you for not using them, but it's frustrating not to be able to follow along, especially when I just spent so much at dollar tree. Ours didn't have everything you're working with, of course. Without the sketchpad paper, is regular copy paper okay to coffee dye? Thanks 🌺
Yes you can use regular copy paper! And I’m sorry you’re frustrated. Like I have said a few times, I’ll have to use a few items I either already have or aren’t from dollar tree. I knew the dollar tree had plastic doilies a couple times so I figured I could just use the ones I already had! Use the things you already have too! There are plenty of ways we can decorate the papers later on :) have FUN and don’t stress! You got this
@@PaperTerrace thanks, Jessica. I looked those up, but they were too pricy, especially since they charged a fortune in shipping. I also found a plastic doily which also did not offer free shipping. It's like the universe does not want me to dye beautiful patterns on paper; it just wants me to waste hours on my phone looking 😢
Haven’t seen anyone use acrylic paint with the shaving foam so that’s super cool!
