Would appreciate if an option to restrict charging to a certain percentage and hiding the gesture navigation bar is implemented soon!
I suggested this on their Google form thing many months ago and there's nothing yet
They will never do it since leaving the bar is assimilated to that of iOS and these manufacturers, and more so trying a Chinese one, have fetishes with Apple and iOS

Turn on optimise charging if you make a habit of charging at certain times it'll stop the charge at 80% then proceed to go 100% near the time you wake up
@@prateek1208 But I don't want it to charge to 100%. I want it to stop at 80%. I have an alarm on my phone that rings whenever the battery is at 80% so I can unplug it, but I would rather the phone does that itself like so many other phones on the market do.

I love the Glyphe timer on the Phone 2 for timing my rest time between sets when doing sports. However it is a bit annoying that the music always stops when the timer is up. It would be really nice if you added a "sports mode" or however you want to call it that signals the end of the timer only visually and lets the music run.

Now Nothing OS is like a son of old Oxygen OS. I can't wait to use this on a stable version.

This OS is definitely going into the right direction but I hope the company doesn't forget one thing when they add/change options: never go against more customisation.
Going the Apple way where everything is imposed and nothing is customizable is the worst idea ever. So I hope the Nothing ROM will take advantage of Android's nature and will only become more and more customizable over time.

You know, aside from the Apple's propaganda on how Android is apparently so unsafe, if you think you're safe on your iOS's App Store, you should research a little bit more because on top of the frequent major vulnerabilities, the last one being no less than two weeks old, Apple had multiple times (and not like 2 or 3 times) had to remove apps because they realized (too late) they were malware or viruses. But the problem is that you can't use anything else. On the other hand, the thing with Android users is that you are free to stick to the official store if you think you're safer on it, and you're as free to use much better alternative stores, like for example ones that don't ban apps because they don't really like them (and I'm pointing at App Store as well as Play Store here).
But to answer your first question: yes actually, I _do_ have the “freedom” to simply send a file to any random android user. Haven't you heard of Nearby Share? You know, the thing every operating system have (or can have quite easily) _except_ Apple's OSs, as usual, the same ones lagging behind standardization and universality, like with USB-C, like with RCS, etc...
But either way, I prefer to use much better open source alternatives allowing me to transfer files with someone near me as well as on the other side of the world easily, with or without a server.
It's funny that you got triggered by my remark on iOS's lack of customization and freedom but you didn't deny it in the slightest, implying you agree with me.

I wish this came out at the same time as the google pixel or even slightly before.
I started on android but it was all galaxies and the software updates were less and less impressive.
If this was around back then I would have stuck with it instead of getting an iPhone. Nothing was exactly what I wanted back then.

looks amazing but i also think the nothing team should make a custom status bar instead of the stock android one. it'll add a more nothing imspired feel to it and make it stand out from the other UIs.

i think in general nothing needs to free themselves from the stock android look, every time i open a sub-menu and suddenly it looks like im using a google pixel it throws me off a lot.

And majorly for that brightness slider which is accessible only after 2 bottom swipes. Instead should be at the bottom of the status bar like in Samsung and other UI skins.
This is actually a good upgrade! Not just that, but also making features and aesthetics for Nothing OS to stand apart from the rest. 💯 I am loving it!

I love that comments are enabled unlike CrApple iTrash blocking feedback haha. Why would someone want a diff volume for ring and notification? It's so annoying having to use Volume Sync app to sync volumes

Dear Carl Pei, how you started OnePlus was great.
There should be a shortcut for 'Flip to glyph' option.
Right now to toggle this one has to go through Settings.
Could be great if it's included as quick settings option / lockscreen shortcut / widget
I always miss this feature. I use flip to glyph in my office, but I don't want this feature when I am back home. I missed many calls due to which now I don't use flip to glyph.

is so beautiful, clean and futuristic, I need a nothing phone, I hope I can save up later to have it since in Chile they sell it more expensive because they have to be imported :(

I like how comments is about improving the nothing phone and nothing developers are listening from the feedback and making sure the community is getting what they want in the improvement of nothing experience
Waiting for a great camera update and own apps like gallery app , files , media player, dialer etc..and needed more software features, please refer samsung one UI and OnePlus oxygen OS mixed colour os
Finally!! Media player coming in December. Nothing 2 needs separate gallery app as well.
Some other issues are -
1. On/off battery saver while playing videos pauses the video.
2. On/off battery saver refreshes videos while watching reels.
3. Dedicated virtual "pause/stop" button needed for screen recording.
4. "Delete" button needed for SMS in the drop down notification menu.
There are other issues. I'll update it when I remember them.
The misic is very effectivie in bringing back the nostalgia of the 2000s when phone makers were really creative with their phone designs, which were VERY Effective back then, especially with the LG Chocolate Phones and the Nokia phones with their AMAZING hardware. ❤.

I love the operating system. simple and clean. It will be good if I get a 5 inch display. 6.7inch feels huge in my pant pocket :( apart from that the 1st android experience I ever had this much snappy OS.. Cool looking rear design. hope we get rgb glyph lights and customization in Nothing Phone 3
I hope they add quick clear catch option. I know it has smooth OS and doesn't need it but does come in handy if we have it.

Why am i not receiveing an update
Nothing gallery and dialer without a call recording announcement . And the custom colour palette will make it a top notch OS.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Forget everything. I need easy home screen customisation. Hell, to change the page order I have to move all apps back and forth. All apps need to be selected one by one. Can't keep an empty page! (A nothing page!?) Need these at minimum, then we can talk about the rest 😊
Yessss exactly this.. this is the only thing that's kinda annoying me but I can deal with it for now as everything else makes up for it but would definitely be nice to see
Speaking of the "symmetry" you may have also noticed that the size of rounded app icons and the rounded quick action widgets don't match up. Try all zoom and text levels. But that's won't be the same. That makes me avoid placing the app icons and quick settings widgets on the same page. Don't know why haven't they noticed this 😢
I'm really enjoying the phone 1, would like to see a different version of strap design on the CMF smart watch, something more broader more like the current Apple watch.
please focus more on the software side of the camera like the pixel more on the skin tones details. the front camera.
I so badly want the option to be able to change the size of the Bluetooth button in the notification bar. In the new update it looks the same where it's one of the huge buttons on the top row. Why can't we change what quick icons go where? I barely ever use Bluetooth it's just a huge button I never use
What security and privacy audits/assessments or penetration testing is done on the Nothing OS and custom apps to ensure they meet GDPR requirements or higher privacy standards as well as security audits on any tech changes / software releases? Is there something like Samsung Knox in Nothing OS? Encryption in transit/at rest/ in use??

I would love the ability to hide specific icons in the status bar
Would appreciate if there will be introduced any biometric checking when you are getting into the "App Drawer" where you have your private apps, like banking stuff because in my opinion this will add another wall of security for those.
Just wanted to let you know there is something that's quite similar to it already. Go to Settings> Apps> App Locker, and then you should be able to lock specific apps with either a password or biometrics

I Bought Nothing 1 1 year after charging pin problem. I had replaced cahrging pin it cost me 2k .

The z flip 5 scooped me up. But I found out about nothing soon after purchasing. I love my z flip 5 but theres something about the nothing phone and supporting a team like them that makes me want to buy one.
Recently i purchased a Nothing Phone(2). The Phone is amazing to use. Thanks Nothing Team. The best part is the display and the UI. I never used this type of phone. Totally Different experience. Display colors are fantastic. Best Design of all time . Everything is next level in this device.
But something needs to be improved....
1. There is no Gallery please upgrade in the next update.
2. Need Extra features in camera mode like face filters,zoom and blur effects
3. There is no editor in photos and videos.
Otherwise the phone is top notch. Thanks 🙏

some suggestions
1- make glyph lights more functional like add vibration mode option for flip to glyph
2- like dnd mode if I choose some contacts than it should ring even if flip to glyph is on
3 - curren status bar is perfect I like circles on top rather than square
Hopefully the next nothing device has the optical zoom. Thats the only thing keeping me from getting this device since i took a lot of pictures when i travel

Really important is an magnetic holding capability like MagSafe. And water resistance on a swimming level. Please bring that!!!😘

I have the nothing phone to great experience so far the back camera can be improved with software it crushes my skin tone i wish it was a bit brighter and accurate the shadows are crush portrait can be improved front camera works amazing. One problem keyboard does not respond when i try to text when I'm in a game i have exit the chat then enter it again then it will work
Going to buy phone2 this holiday season. I've already got the pixel 7 pro, so I've got the camera section covered. I'm looking for something innovative and most cool phones never leave the boundaries of China. So phone2 seems viable option.
Is there an app like Shortcuts in IOS that I can use on my Nothing Phone 1? I would love to add my own stuff and make my phone even cooler with an app like that.
The updates seems promising fun and yes definitely providing uniqueness with needed updates of Pedometer on screen, power button shortcuts makes life easy and definitely feels great when its been cause of device.

I have been an iOs User, one thing I enjoyed a lot and definitely miss is Siri!
They made it such way, that voice recognistion was personal and many commands from calling, music to launching timer and apps was so fulfiling.
Andriod its difficult but this Voice Assitance is simply something I dearly miss.
I would love it to see as Open Source.
No more gestures in nothing to like put it here and automatically attend pocket mode two sim different different ringtones three finger screenshot etc
Give feature release update to NP2 first then the budget segment devices. It feels odd that budget segment NP2A is getting update first. and maintain the update policy as per the declaration. why delay in update for Phone 2. Last update in january and it is now april...

I was thinking of shifting from Samsung to Nothing Phone, but the thing that stopped me is the lack of an eSim (I like to travel and eSims is the way to go especially if you use apps like Airalo, Nomad, etc.) If you don't care about eSims then go for it. Good thing i did some research before i pulled the trigger. I hope they launch an eSim compatible version one day, as the product is really cool 😔
I swear @Nothing you guys release a Flagship phone with the latest SoC, Fastest RAM, Storage, Wifi, Modem etc, it'll sell like hotcakes with you OS on top

changing brightness on android is utter 🐶 💩, why do i have to swipe twice and why does it change to where i tap instead of sliding up

I will get a nothing phone immediately when they up their camera quality to like a pixel level or just under better if they surpass it. And a telephoto lens. Telephoto is much required than ultrawide. Think about to take a wider picture either you an stepback or move the subject farer away from u. When you take potraits for social media a telephoto just maximizes the richness of a photo with its compression and results in much more pleasing look. Pls bring telephoto lens. And i want to get a nothing phone. Thats my design language

I have nothing Phone 2, please improve the dark mode by making it full black instead of grey, and give a shortcut option in status bar to switch in media like from blutooth to speaker, and the camara needs a huge improvement, whenever I took pictures in portrait mode most of the time it's make the picture like a oil painting, and 10x zoom is also not working well the zoomed image capture photo like details and writing blended. Autofocus is not working well .
Well, just switch to z flip 5 from phone 1, but uhm why do i prefer nothing so much more.

Why Nothing phone 1 can't set timmer for one(1) minute exactly we can't type (0) so it always 1mins 11sec. Please solve it as soon as possible.
