Yes, there are two "Creed" movies that are in the Rocky universe. After this movie you just watched, there is Rocky 4, Rocky 5, and Rocky Balboa. After that there are Creed and Creed 2 with Creed 3 coming to theaters soon.
I really hope Creed 3 has something new to bring to the table. Because Creed 2 was absolutely horrible - boring and the characters where as shallow as a puddle.
Wow, when Mickey died I remembered Mike Tyson's story, he was rather a rascal but got trained and mentored by a coach that gifted him his own old boxing boots, that Tyson worn when he was the champion. This coach died and Tyson was so affected that he went down and got into drugs and misbehavior again. Sad story in the real world. Great video guys!
@@BigBoss-zi5ss Yes, absolutely right. I guess he was like his father. Whn you loose your mom or dad, many things don't matter anymore. It's easy to go to hell like that 😞
@@BigBoss-zi5ss Wrong. Tyson was misbehaving even at the end of Cus' life. He was sexually harassing girls right before Cus died. Now Cus living would've helped Tyson with his boxing..No doubt about that.
I was 7 years old when this came out, so I wasn't watching the Rocky movies quite yet. But I was a huge fan of Mr T in the A-team and Mr. T cartoon tv show that both came out the year after this movie. Mr T was huge in the 80s.
So glad you guys enjoyed this one as much as I knew you would. It's a lot of fun watching Apollo train Rocky, and how he finally responds to it after Adrian calls him on his BS. The relationships are what makes this series so special.
Rocky with Mick still wouldn't have defeated Clubber Lane. Rocky needed Apollo's defense (to avoid most of the power shots) and movement to outlast Clubber... FYI A lot of Clubber Lane/Mr T's lines were ad-libbed, Stallone just let him make it up on the spot... Originally Stallone wanted the song 'Another One Bites the Dust' by Queen, but for whatever reason Queen wouldn't let him use their song. Stallone comissioned Survivor to write 'Eye of the Tiger' and the rest is film history. Survivor saw the first ten minutes of Rocky 3, this inspired them. They demanded to see more.
30:20 many times it's the punch you don't see coming. At those moments, Rocky was able to determine where and when the punches were coming from, and is more able to absorb/mitigate it's impact, while Clubber ("Mr. T"), burns through his adrenaline, anger, and stamina.
the endurance made rocky above many boxers, not his punches.. not his style.. but his stamine and endurance.. is a risky style tough.. u might lose on points with that one! but Clubber was too prideful to win with just points.. he burned his stamina fast to destroy Rocky BIG MISTAKE
This is the second reaction I have seen from you two, so I really liked your reaction 😂 I am now a subscriber to your channel. I look forward to seeing more of your reactions. Can't wait for you guys to watch Rocky 4 and there are two Creed movies out with a third one one the way. See you guys soon.
Rocky's strategy was effective. You see there's 2 different styles that was used. Clubber Lang is a slugger who specializes in slugger-style boxing. Slugger-style boxing utilizes hook swings and haymakers looking for that one big punch. They're normally Mike Tyson's size and strength capacity. However, they can only last 2 to 3 rounds because of the energy they excert. Out-boxer style is more stragetic. Out-boxing style is staying out of an opponent's reach while capitalizing on missed swings. Key fact: wearing the slugger down requires paitence and focus. Once they swing and continue missing, stamina is excerted. With well placed blows to the gut area will bring their stamina even lower. That's why the slugger needs to finish the fight quickly before they get finished. Rock paper scissors triangle theory for boxing states sluggers normally struggle with out-boxers.
The pts where Cubber hits Rocky's arm is taken from 1 of the biggest upsets in history. George Foreman was the champ; he wasn't just winning but destroying his opponents. M Ali, a former champion, was a heavy underdog but he let George pound away on his arms. After George was tired, Ali gave him a KO
Best part is that Mr T , and Hulk Hogan apeared in an A-team episode . a few years later. Mr T is one of the nicest guys in real life. and was an insperation for many children.
That girl touched on a couple of interesting and true points. She pointed out that in the first fight Rocky didn't care about winning or losing and just wanted to go the distance. His mentality changed once he became champion which made him weak and afraid. She also says that Apollo was a better fighter than Clubber which is also true.
The statue of Rocky still stands near the bottom of those famous stairs. There is a movie called Grudge Match....Sylvester Stallone fights Robert DeNiro. Great channel!!
Actually, in the Rocky story, Apollo Creed is considered the best fighter of all time. In his prime, neither Rocky or Clubber Lang or any other fighter would be able to beat him.
@@rxtsec1 - Exactly, he didn't take the 1st fight seriously and his pride got hurt, 2nd fight he got too emotional and careless trying to knock Rocky out. That's why the Rocky series is so loved, it's a story of the underdog beating the odds.
i believe so too! i been doing some research a day ago.. and Rocky movie was based on Rocco Francis Marchegiano aka (Rocky Marciano) the way Rocky is portraited in the movie copied a lot from Marciano.. u see Marciano was never a ''body for a fighter'' but his determination and the insane workout routine and ethic made him the scariest Boxer of all time! he retired without losing a single match, and died so young in a plane crash.. Muhammad Ali himself said ''Marciano might be the only boxer I could be afraid to fight with, you will hit him and he will still come back for you, u will hit him 10 times, and he will hit you back 100'' it was estimated that in the 15th round of heavyweight match, he punched between 90 and 120 times!! scaryyy but yes, Apollo was very good! you could see that his technique was above many, what took him by surprise was the endurance Rocky had, and when he lost the second time. was bcuz he was pressured to defeat him faster, thus making him consume his stamine earlier.. BIG MISTAKE
@@MJoy4Fun there are some elements of Rocky Marchiano but he was undefeated and never lost. 49-0, There is a guy name Chuck Wepner who fought Muhammad Ali when he was the champ. The fight was supposed to be a easy fight but In that fight he knocked Ali down once and almost went the distance before being knocked out the 15th round. that's actually where Stallone got the idea for the story of Rocky
I like that you both recognize the parallel between how Rocky took the first fight with Clubber and how Apollo took that first fight with Rocky. I really enjoy your reactions.
The part about the "set-up" or "Hand-picked" fights. It brings up the ugly side of Boxing. For the longest time, and maybe still, Boxing was a racket. The Mafia got it's hands on it early. Fixing fights, bribing judges, paying fighters to take dives. Then the promoters, like Don King get involved. Makes one wonder when a fighter goes through the ranks. Sometimes it looks too easy. So when Rocky got curious about his Title fights, which Mick described as "Hand-picked". It's echoed by all top fighters.
That's exactly why Rocky wouldn't have beaten Clubber the first time cause he had been fighting easy fights because of Mickey. He had no hunger and didn't even train right. Apollo trained him right and his hunger returned.
sad but true! off topic: reminds me of Football here in Europe I used to be a hardcore fan of Football and Liverpool team in UK.. but in 2012 the history of next level fixed matches took a tight turn.. when in big Champions League where all big teams get together.. Barcelona was backed up by the referee they beat FC Chelsea at the last moment while denying FC Chelsea a lot of fauls and obvious penalties... sad history.. it was the time when I said ''good bye dear friend.. '' and I stopped watching Football completely Sports should have a huge ban against fixed matches.. no matter the cost.. every body deserves the right for the title
As much as I love the original I think of the final game of III as the most intense and best choreographed, you can feel all the punches, all the stamina and all the will to fight and that it ends at round 3 makes it feel more real... less narrative.

I believe rocky would have lost the 1st fight anyway because we saw that he was training like horse c*** rap. Remember in the first half of rocky 3 that rocky is acting how Apollo Creed did in the 1st movie which is someone who's become too proper, comfortable and as Mick says "civilized" so basically Rocky lost his edge in this film which was good on the writers part to flip the script. Plus, it was Apollo's training that helped keep Rock and Clubber's rematch short because that was the point seeing as how Clubber was too strong to withstand as evidenced in the first fight.

It never made sense to me how Rocky didn't take his preparation for the first fight seriously after Mickey JUST told him that he'd been setting him up with easier fights. If anything that should have made him want to train harder.
Mr. T was a bodyguard from Tennessee. However, both Stallone and Weathers were actual boxers. The best boxing was in the first two movies because it was more natural.
Many people don't like Clubber Lang/Mr T personality in this movie but in all fairness he had a VERY GREAT/LEGIT reason for going after Rocky so hard... He's honestly not much of a villain just a guy doing what he has to do to get his shot at something he earned and deserves...Clubber fought his way up to Rocky's level fair and square and Mickey was denying him the chance or SHOT to become heavyweight champ for 3 years all while watching Rocky take easy fights that Mick was picking for him... that would piss ANYBODY off who worked very hard...... Just thought I would throw that out there...lol

Creed movie is Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. In November 1975 in Rocky Mickey told Rocky he was 76 years old. Means he would have been born in 1899. His headstone says he was born 1905.
Mickey took a lot of shots to the head. He may have been confused.
12:24 you sounded like a velociraptor lol😂😂😂
Great honest reaction, loved it. Thank you
I don't think there was any other franchise that started the sequels with something akin to "Previously.....on Rocky..."
You're absolutely right!!!
@@nakitapalmer656 Exactly so for those who catch on to that about Clubber, may now understand better why he is the way he is towards Rocky...lol
Oh man I can’t wait for you guys to do Rocky 4
hollywood sensationalism at its best, gotta love it
Part 4 is the the pinnacle of the franchise. The cinematography, the odds, the story, everything. Be ready for tears and happiness.
@Richard Craig This is a Empire is better than New Hope debate. :)
Eure Reaktionen sind sehr gut und lustig !!!! Muss immer voll lachen 😄
Macht Spass zuzusehen.
Die Rocky Reihe ist phänomenal.
Rocky 4 ist mein Favorit. Ivan Drago ist ein beast !!!
Ihr müsst unbedingt prisoners mit Hugh Jackman gucken.
Unglaublicher Film !!!!
👍
Creed movie is Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.
You two rock!
He said Crabble haha
In Creed (1 I think) Rocky reveals that Apollo won that private fight at the end of Rocky 3.
Yes two creed movies with rocky in them after 4, 5 and 6th ( rocky Balboa) then creed and creed 2 . Rocky is like the Mickey character ( old former boxer coaching)
The statue of Rocky is real, and outside the Philadelphia Museum of art.
Man, I can't wait for you guys to get to ROCKY 6. Hopefully, you're willing to stick with it.

The rocky statue is real and it is located at the bottom of those stairs in Philadelphia
Game over on Marian's palms. You need a lotion sponsor for when you rub your hands together at the beginning of each video 😂😂😂
Do you want to see a movie about a real life Rocky? Check out the 2005 Ron Howard biopic, "Cinderella Man". Seriously, it's next level, man! If you like "Rocky", you'll love "Cinderella Man".
Hulk Hogan that guy LMAO 🤣
After Rocky 4 you are going to see Rocky Balboa the fifth movie and one of the best of the Rocky movies !
@Sound Logic My bad!!!
Yeah, you're skipping over Rocky V(1990). lol. Kind of forgettable IMO.
@@confucius12012 Never thought that one should have been made some people like it but I don't.
Hello!
Great Reaction-Video guys! It's always cool watching Video's with you!
You'll see the favor Rocky is doing for Apollo in Rocky 4! If you watch Rocky 4 maybe it's possible to watch the Director's Cut?? You'll never regret watching this!😉
Very good reaction guys, when you get to the fourth one PLEASE watch the new cut called "Rocky 4: Rocky vs Drago," it's better than the theatrical cut.
