  • How to setup fog & foggers to get best fog chiller and low lying fog effects. These homemade fog machine chillers are some examples of a great way to set up and get the most from your fog machines. This video shows how we Fog It Up! and setup the three fog machines to create Erie smoke up the Halloween Western Ghost Town display called Grave Rock Gulch this year. What's a scary home haunt or a horror film set without creepy fog and we wanted lots of it. Since fog is pretty much our favorite yard haunt decoration each year we found some easy fun ways to use it. The options we used are inexpensive and easy to build and set up. We ran 30' of 4" x 10' black perforated drain hose from under the front porch of the Full Moon Saloon Facade to behind the back side of the Old Spanish Mission facade. We then attached a DIY homemade trash can fog chiller and a 1000 watt fogger to the end. There are several trash can chiller how to's online. The results was a great low lying effect that clung to and hugged the ground without even wetting the ground first. To give the old abandoned skull mine the fog effect when the TNT detonator box was tripped we used a Chauvet hurricane 1300 fog machine with a remote control. The Train Depot Facade had a real steel potbelly stove with flickering lights inside while a 400 watt fog machine connected to a piece of metal ducting and a 6' shop vac hose poured smoke out the chimney. This year we used 10-31 Fog Juice called LA Smog and Unburied Cemetery and we absolutely loved it. We never once used ice in our chillers this year, just the lengths of hose and the awesome fog juice gave us the results we were looking for. The shots in the video show a little of how the fog looked along with the lighting on the walls of the facades.

    I imagine the satisfaction one would experience building something like this would be overwhelming ! That tooth,that tooth, that freaking tooth is beyond cool. Reminds me of the SPROINGY tooth from Django traveling "dentist".

    Awesome every time, great details. The webbing on the lanterns really set it off. Question for you. With the 1000 watt fogger and the perforated drain tube, how many holes would it go through and possibly not finish out the tube? I have a bunch of ideas for the set up and had always wondered.

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  10 лет назад +2

      Well in our case we have the fog traveling through 30' of drain pipe. There are about 10 or 11 1" holes approximately 12" apart. The end of the hose is taped off really well to prevent leaking. I think you could even attach another ten footer with holes and it still work fine. When you try your idea you could start with smaller holes and work your way up to larger ones as your testing it out. Thanks for watching and for the comment! =)

    Awesome effects guys!! That was smart with the drain pipe. I've seen it a couple times but I never tried it because you never know how it would turn out with the amount of wind we get here in CT around October time. I have, however, tried the trash can chiller and by itself...it makes a really cool and creepy effect! Thanks for the video..loving this! Have you guys taken anything down yet?

    The 1300 watt fogger around 1:28 looks like it works pretty well. Where did you get it, and what kind of fog have you found works best?

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  10 лет назад

      We used a Chauvet hurricane 1300 fog machine and it works really well. We ordered it online from Amazon I think a few years back. We used 10-31 fog juice this year and were super satisfied with LA Smog brand.

    Sorry if you already told us, but what color LED's were on the saloon facade? Teal?

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  10 лет назад

      The Full Moon Saloon was Green with green lighting but the windows on the first floor were red to match the saloon curtains and the upper level windows were teal with slate blue curtain.

    Did you have the foggers on timers, or just let them go off by themselves (I believe you said previously the mine shaft was set to go off when a kid pushed down on the plunger)?
    This year was the first year in about the last 4 or 5 I was actually able to use a fogger in my setup. Between wind, rain, snow, and hurricanes, most of the time I haven't even bothered to put the foggers out. Even so, it started raining about 7 p.m. this year so it limited its use again. I'm still waiting for those perfect nights for Halloween. Somehow I rarely recall there being inclement weather on Halloween as a kid.

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  10 лет назад

      The fog machine in the mine was used with a remote but the other two were just left on and we filled them up every night the lights and props were on the last couple weeks of October. They would run for a while then stop to reheat and come back so it worked well for our purposes. It was windy a few nights here too but we were lucky for Halloween night.

    • @HollywoodHaunter

      We use distilled water and I think we still have some spirit store cleaner stuff in the garage. Running water through them seams to work fine.
