THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS IN DEPTH REVIEW! I have been looking for reviews comparing these 2 switches! I love how both is a safe go and on the budget side I really need to know who reigns king of the budget! Love your vids!
@@ThockyDocKey Just wanna say I got them right after your review and I love it! In your opinion should you film them? I noticed they have some north south wobble I believe? And lubin really removes the scratchiness of them!
I have a bag of these, and currently all my board uses this switch. Coming from MX Black Vintage, all I can say is this is the closes sounding switch to Vintage Blacks and a lot smoother.
@Micah Burke very different sound profile. The jelly blacks are higher pitched with a thinner sound profile THe JWK lower pitched, with thicker sound. Both are good, but since I like mostly thoccs, I might go with the JWK. Then again, I really loved how the jelly black sounded with the AKKO MOD007v2 that I recently built.
i hope that is a good thing. Im mixing up my videos. mE and Rx003 are subscribed to each other's channel. I do get a lot of inspiration from his content as well. Awesome channel that one :)
Great video, I have one question, does this switch have the north interference issue? Going to build my first keyboard with the ik75, and I afraid that this switch will have the issues when pairing with cherry keycaps. Thanks in advance!!!
@@cliptch978 really hard to beat the price. The sound and feel there a lot of switches to try around. then again it does not mean its better than the other. it's more of preference.
@@ThockyDocKey yup there's still a lot of switches to try out , im still a student so buying more switch is not a good choice maybe if i have a job then i will start trying more switch
hi! how much would they affect the rgb? im going to use a frosted case with clear keycaps so its kinda important, also my first build so im not sure. ty!
however, for how good they are, I could not care less about the RGB. hehe When you dive deeper into the rabbit hole, RGB becomes less and less of a priority. Most higher end boards don't even have RGB. then again, it is all preference at the end of the day
@@ThockyDocKey i agree but im wanting to build a keyboard with clear keycaps simply because i love the look of them, so im having a hard time finding thocky switches which will also allow enough light to shine through them. my favourite right now are the prevail epsilons however theyre kinda pricey for me. any suggestions?
I own these and after keeping them stock and only recently tuned the stabilizers on my RK G68. They sound absolutely amazing still but i'm tempted to lube and film them to get a more muted sound out of them since I don't want to wake up my roommates. It's either that or I buy some silent switches

@@jamqc24 for me no need to film
@@jamqc24 yes lubin makes a big difference. filming IMHO not needed. but you can if you want :)
@@ThockyDocKey Thank you so much!
Absolutely perfect. I was very divided between the milky yellow and the JWK blacks and now I know I want the JWK blacks
I have a bag of these, and currently all my board uses this switch. Coming from MX Black Vintage, all I can say is this is the closes sounding switch to Vintage Blacks and a lot smoother.
It’s indeed good! Especially when you factor in the price
do you think that i will notice much of a difference between those and cherry mx blacks if i use a combination of them on the same board?
@@jblbassslayer3108 I think it won't make a difference, or you can put one in alpha and one set in the modifider.
@@unwired thanks for the advice :)
My JWICK BLACKS' housing is very tight, but the stems are very wobbly. How do I fix that?
Subscribed! Love this detailed comparison with similar switches! Keep making them man!
Thank you man! Means a lot :)
i love these side by side comparisons between popular budget switches hopefully you can do more like the ktt strawberries
will definitely be doing more :)
for some reason for the stock sound test the spacebar kinnda sounds like a mini gong
ik very late but would you choose gateron g pro yellow 2.0, milky yellows or the jwick black v2's?
I have to say, i dont know if i just got a very crappy batch but my jwk blacks feel really really scratchy lubed and sounds mid
Ohh. Interesting. Mine are okay. Not the best but okay
bro same. Imy jwk black feel scratchy as hell even after lube. Sadge man
im having a hard time choosing between akko jelly blacks and jwk blacks
Ill be trying out the akkos next :)
I think you cant go wrong with either. The jelly black is more clacky if im not mistaken
@Micah Burke very different sound profile. The jelly blacks are higher pitched with a thinner sound profile
THe JWK lower pitched, with thicker sound.
Both are good, but since I like mostly thoccs, I might go with the JWK.
Then again, I really loved how the jelly black sounded with the AKKO MOD007v2 that I recently built.
Jelly blacks suck. they sound good on video but feel scratchy and plasticy
how do these compare to the new vertex
hmmm your video format seems quite familiar with the Vega soundtest guy aka Rx003
i hope that is a good thing. Im mixing up my videos. mE and Rx003 are subscribed to each other's channel. I do get a lot of inspiration from his content as well. Awesome channel that one :)
Is the difference big between lubed and stock?
Which one has a deeper/thockier sound? This or akko jelly blacks??
this. jelly blacks are more on the higher pitched/clacks for me
@@ThockyDocKey Same, i've got them in my board and when i first lubed them, it was a deep clack unlike the jwk black's and stock these are very clacky
What keycaps are on the black and white board
Can you please tell me if you had issues with the jwk blacks on the lychee 66 because of the one switch on the top row with the pop up led?
no issues as far as my experience with it goes
Great video, I have one question, does this switch have the north interference issue? Going to build my first keyboard with the ik75, and I afraid that this switch will have the issues when pairing with cherry keycaps. Thanks in advance!!!
Supposedly it will not. But some of my friend says there is still some. Depending on keycaps
@@ThockyDocKeythe cherry keycaps may cause some interference when pairing with a normal length pole switch on a north facing pcb

among the budget switches you've tried all in all, which do you think is the best overall? (Gateron pro milky, pro smd,jwk blacks)
i would have to go with milky yellow pro
which has a creamier sound, this or ktt kang whites?
Have not triend the kang whites
How is this different from Gateron Oil Kings?
Very different. My oil king review will be out soon.
This is 1/3 price of oil kings. A good switch but i feel oil kings is superior
@@ThockyDocKey thanks!!! Will be looking forward towards your review ;)
would these fit in outemu hot swap?
Have not tried,
Im not sure
would there be many diferences on alluminum kit? and also so high profile keycaps like SA or MT3
Which is more better? Akko CS Silver or these?
have not tried the CS silvers, the CS crytals are okay. I would probably choose the JWK blacks though
