I must definitely be getting old and mellow .. This is just the type of song I would not have given any time to in my younger days .. Completely Snoozeville .. But listening to it now, I can appreciate what a beautiful piece of music it is .. Great vocals, melody line and harmonies .. Nice reaction too, Harri .. Wayne
@@michaelasay8587 Hi Michael .. Like you, I liked a lot of different music when I was younger .. My favourite styles were 60s pop and late 70s / early 80s post-punk / new wave .. But I didn't really get into many slow ballads .. I liked Carpenters a lot ( and still do ), but it was more their uptempo stuff I was drawn to .. Now I also really appreciate songs like Superstar and This Masquerade .. Still love my 60s and new wave, but now I can also see what other people saw in songs like this one by Ambrosia .. Cheers, Wayne
You get older, the music you listen to gets better.... ;) My son is 26 and listens to all the 70's stuff, smooth and rock.... But he was raised hearing it all the time.
i know what you mean about many '70s ballads from certain bands being so/too sacharine but this song isn't, it's simply BEAUTIFUL. the lush crescendo of the harmony vocals, the bittersweet lyrics, the gorgeous melodic structure, and yes, especially the bridge - emotive and passionate - i think this is an almost perfect song ❤ this is my favourite ambrosia song of their many hits and i cry every time as i sing along. every. time. thanks for the listen, harri. glad you loved it!
Oh, Ambrosia had some GREAT voices! Sir, you MUST react to their "Holdin' On To Yesterday"! Hauntingly beautiful! You mentioned "carrying a torch" for a lost love. If you'd like to hear the "hands-down" GREATEST "torch" song of all time, may I suggest "Since I Fell For You", by Mr. Lenny Welch. I've heard songs that come CLOSE, but none BETTER. Thank you, sir, for this "spoonful of sugar"!
Love, love, love this song! But I agree about the ending. I was never a fan of what that meant for his wife. Still, I think it's more about learning to let go. He loved her so much, he left when she asked even though it hurt him.
I grew up, listening to ambrosia. This is during the time that I brought, and they were a part of a genre called yacht rock. I don’t know if you’re familiar with that, but growing up in Miami listening to yacht rock was everything.
Ah!! Ambrosia!! They still tour and we've seen them about 6 times. 🧡 Highly recommend "Holding on to Yesterday" (studio version) which is *powerful, gorgeous* 🏵🌹🌺🌻
No body records pure love songs anymore. You have to go to the back of the rack to the 70/80 to find true love songs from true talent like Ambrose. Part of the worlds problems in my opinion is because we have lost true love and the songs that go with them.
Ambrosia is top notch. David Pack’s voice is stunning. One of the best is rock. So powerful and soulful. The harmonies are so good! The musicianship is excellent! In the 70s these guys were always on the radio.
Holdin on to Yesterday is another great one. I remember every track was excellent when I listened to them. Got to check out some live stuff, they are Sruido quality. Much love Harri
Harri, I pray you meet your twin flame before too long. You deserve the honey love of your soul mate. So many of your listeners love you it just may culminate in this outcome for you. Sweet song, Peace brother man.
Mellow music was all over the radio, as the 70s progressed, and Ambrosia were big players! Besides "You're the Only Woman" "Biggest Part of Me" and "How Much I Feel," there's "Holdin' On to Yesterday" "Nice, Nice, Very Nice" "Time Waits For No One" "Life Beyond LA" "Cryin In the Rain"...apparently they still tour today.
You guess it! Moon in Vedic Atrology represents ambrosia. All the Gods want to have a taste of it especially Indra which reprsents some of the younger generation (20s to 30s) of our time. Sometimes this can lead to jealousy.
Another Alan Parsons produced band. Ambrosia originally wanted to be a Prog band. Parsons did this...Check lead singer David Pack and Alan Parsons covering some Beatles tunes .Realky good stuff
Check out, The Average White Band. "A love of my own", Also, "Tower of Power," You're still a young man. (40th Anniversary live show). One more...:.Lotta love," by Nicolette Larson.
Todd Rungdgren's "Can We Still Be Friends ?" would be a logical song after this one. :) But indeed, sometimes it would be better off to keep the mouth shut instead of being too honest for the good, so to speak.
He wrote this song for his girlfriend when he was in high school, David pack is the lead singer of ambrosia, he is no longer with them he's on his own at 71 yrs old he still sounds good now like he did in this song 45 yrs ago, this song is 1 of my favorites its simply beautiful.
I'm back in high school every time I hear this song.
This song is really anything but sweet. It's a painful, heartbreaking and bitter catharsis by the singer of losing the love of his life
I love Ambrosia. "You're the Only Woman" has always been my favorite by them.
His voice is flawless!.
I know! The first time I listened to this song I was listening for any imperfections and I couldn’t find any!

What did u like as a kid? I loved this, Karen Carpenter, rock.... most everything.

Facts!
The punk/metal version of me would have puked at vibing out to this kind of music.
Suck it, Young Ryan!
I like it now!!!
You get older, the music you listen to gets better.... ;)
My son is 26 and listens to all the 70's stuff, smooth and rock.... But he was raised hearing it all the time.
Used to listen to them on a killer stereo back then,we need more music like this.
It’s the harmonies. Just beautiful and calm. Perfect beach/yacht rock.
If you like very sugary, smooth, super soft, romantic music - nobody does it better than Ambrosia.
Definitely but I enjoy Firefall and Little River band as well.
I think Ambrosia's best song is "Holding on to Yesterday." Please check it out
One of my favorite songs from my childhood and still to this day I love it. 🙏🏽✌🏽🌎🌍🌏♥️
Beautiful song ❤️🤩❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💚
Harri, you've now done all 3 of their top 15 hits!
I've always loved Ambrosia. Some of the most beautiful voices ever
Love this!!
Love ALL kinds of music and have been to many concerts, but the two times I saw Ambrosia in concert have no equal, unbelievable really..❤️
Ambrosia had some excellent songs. This is a home run. 👍
You need to see the video. The one on the left with long blonde hair iscthe lead singer.
i know what you mean about many '70s ballads from certain bands being so/too sacharine but this song isn't, it's simply BEAUTIFUL.

ambrosia - harmonies from heaven. david pack was a genius songwiter and vocalist
Love the song and Ambrosia. They had several hits in the 70s with this style and harmonies. Thanks for your reaction Harri.
I agree with your reaction, what a beautiful song. It never gets old, either, imo.
SO glad you reacted to Ambrosia and this song! Great group. You should react to the live version.
I love this song! Thank you Harri! Wonderful reaction!
Try holding on to yesterday , so lush and beautiful
My favorite song by them!
This guy has such a great voice, wish I could sing like that !
just one of the many 70's breakup songs love it and your channel is appreciated from NZ
I love this guy.... he gets the sheer poetry of this song
David Pack (Ambrosia's lead singer), Michael McDonald and James Ingram collaborated on a hit song in 1985, "I Just Can't Let Go."
Fantastic song !
ARS and Ambrosía back to back! Nice Harri!✌🏻
One of my favorite songs ever.
Love, love, love this song! But I agree about the ending. I was never a fan of what that meant for his wife. Still, I think it's more about learning to let go. He loved her so much, he left when she asked even though it hurt him.

Super underrated band. Phenomenal song. Also check out "You're the Only Woman" and "Biggest Part of Me"....equally great stuff. Diamonds in your ears!
Hearing Ambrosia makes me feel young again. Love them.
It's a favourite of many.
Ah!! Ambrosia!! They still tour and we've seen them about 6 times. 🧡 Highly recommend "Holding on to Yesterday" (studio version) which is *powerful, gorgeous* 🏵🌹🌺🌻

David Pack was a stellar singer.
Have a great day!
Absolutely one of my FAVORITES!!!
Song emotionally evocative for lost lost chances regretted actions. Still touches years later kind of sing
Great band, their earlier output was more prog oriented and produced by Alan Parsons...who you just did a song of his.
If you like this song, you will love “Biggest Part of me”….. that’s the perfect song you are looking for from them!
Another blue eyed soul group.
It is beautiful ❤️ and on my playlist forever.
One of my favorite slow jams of all time.
Saw them live in 1980...very tight band...great musicians!!!
I love your reactions to songs that I grew up with and love so much it is such a delight to watch
You need to follow this up with their other hit song, Biggest Part of Me. Another great song. Do the live version.
☮️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎶🎵🎶...😎
When this song came out a lot of babies were conceived!
Beautiful song! 🎶❤️Have always loved it!
One of my favorite songs of all time. I love some sugar! Great reaction my friend ♥️
Back when singing and harmony and melody, and even lyrics, mattered.
Love this song! Good choice.
Harri most definitely check out Ambrosia's song " Holding on To Yesterday " a must listen ! 🙏
But there is something very sexy about the opening.
Candy for the ears!
This is Classic Chit..... reminds me of Junior High School Dances in the early 80s.....
Great song.
Harri, I pray you meet your twin flame before too long. You deserve the honey love of your soul mate. So many of your listeners love you it just may culminate in this outcome for you. Sweet song, Peace brother man.
"Holdin' oOn To Yesterday" and "Drink of Water" are two good songs, too.
This was written by David Pack, the lead singer.
Mellow music was all over the radio, as the 70s progressed, and Ambrosia were big players! Great reaction!!! So much sugar.. So much butter.
Hi Mr. Harri, This group has 3 great Love Ballads, I think U have reviewed all of them, they are great.. ♠W.G.
Three or four songs define my hearts crying out for real love and acceptance. I never did any good at close relationships, but I tried hard.
For some more of this group try You're the Only Woman. I think their best song.
You guess it! Moon in Vedic Atrology represents ambrosia. All the Gods want to have a taste of it especially Indra which reprsents some of the younger generation (20s to 30s) of our time. Sometimes this can lead to jealousy.
Great reaction!
There are many beautiful songs by Ambrosia!
Give a listen, “Biggest Part of Me” , you’ll love it!
Another Alan Parsons produced band. Ambrosia originally wanted to be a Prog band. Parsons did this...Check lead singer David Pack and Alan Parsons covering some Beatles tunes .Realky good stuff
Hey Harry they can jam too! Check out Cryin in the Rain, Life Beyond L.A. and Kamikaze.
Check out, The Average White Band. "A love of my own", Also, "Tower of Power," You're still a young man. (40th Anniversary live show). One more...:.Lotta love," by Nicolette Larson.
Ambrosia had to wait for lead singer David Pack to graduate from high school before they got his parents blessing to go out on tour.
That 70s easy listening. Nothing like it. You would definitely like "Strange Way" by Firefall.
Songs like this don't come around very often or at all.
I hear he wrote this as a gift for his wife because he mentions her in the end.
Produced by Alan Parsons.
when a song hits home like this does i dont know smh
Todd Rungdgren's "Can We Still Be Friends ?" would be a logical song after this one. :) But indeed, sometimes it would be better off to keep the mouth shut instead of being too honest for the good, so to speak.
I think this may have the saddest line...ever. "Sometimes when we make love, I still see your face."
He wrote this song for his girlfriend when he was in high school, David pack is the lead singer of ambrosia, he is no longer with them he's on his own at 71 yrs old he still sounds good now like he did in this song 45 yrs ago, this song is 1 of my favorites its simply beautiful.
Yacht Rock?
Harri please spin Gino Vannelli SONG. LADY
