      I don't mind, I watched it in 720p on my CRT monitor at 1280x1024 :-) . The good thing it's not 60fps, because my old PC can't digest that even at 720p. It was working fine with 720p 60fps videos a few years before, now it's a slideshow on the very same 60fps videos, because lazy software developers don't care to optimize the codecs for old systems.

  • @m4l490n

    Well that's easy. The one suckin in air is the signal generator and the one blowing it out is the oscilloscope.
    Why?
    Because an oscilloscope "receives" signals, therefore it should blow out air in order to generate that vacum inside that the electromagnetic waves need to be sucked into the oscilloscope.
    The signal generator, needs to suck in air to help push out the generated signals, you know, pushing those electromagnetic waves harder when you blow on them.
    It's all physics everyone!

    Cyclone 10 FPGA's are impossible to find now. I think I bought some of the last ones on Digikey about 2 months ago. I'd stupidly started building a radio Pi board before checking whether I could get the FPGA only to discover I was SOL. I bought another larger version of the Cyclone 10 on Digikey but it'll need re-spinning the radio pi board FPGA footprint and rebuilding the FPGA bit stream for the larger part. I ordered the original Cyclone10's on Mouser anyway and the shipping date was April 2023 which has now moved to December 2022. grrr.

    Can someone tell me why is that there is no groundplane on the top layer and only just around the power supplies? I would expect to have sensitive data lines across the board, thus keeping the EM field tight should be in focus, then why leaving out the groundplane? Is the ground so close on the 2nd layer that it is enough?

    • @RS-ls7mm
      @RS-ls7mm 2 года назад +2

      Most of the top traces seem to be the digital signals. Given the need for matched length and high edge rates you only need one reference plane for impedance matching. Usually we buried the analog, can't tell if thats happening here. Digital generally doesn't care about external influences. Microstrip is also a bit easier to control the impedance since you only have to control one side.

    • @Tuetuopay
      @Tuetuopay 2 года назад

      that's most likely a multilayer board, with reference planes in the inner layers. in those cases, designers usually don't bother putting a ground plane on the outer layers as it does not help with signal integrity. as for why we see some around the PSU, it's to bring low impedence paths near the components and avoid tons of via near them i'd say
