    I think people look at upgrading Gonti the wrong way. I don't think the focus should be adding MORE theft cards or cards that give value from playing from exile (except Tasha she's amazing). I think the goal is ramping ahead of your opponents in order to play the cards you steal more often and focusing on cards that reward you for attacking. There's a few ways to go about this and you can even mix them together.
    Option 1 is to play cards that will untap your lands (preferably while it's still your turn). Great option include Nature's Will, Bear Umbra and if you're really balling Sword of Feast and Famine. These cards also synergize with your theme of getting value through combat. Other options are cards like Seedborn Muse will allow you to have mana up for all your potential interaction.
    Option 2 is to play cards that allows you to play extra lands per turn. At first this may sound weird but from my testing a fair amount of the cards you'll be stealing are lands that feel subpar to hit most of the time especially the later the game goes on. However if you play cards like exploration or Azusa this allows you to ramp faster than your opponents and make the lands you steal a bit more valuable. This also helps your strategy by just having more mana to cast more spells that you stole.
    The final option is to lean heavy in effects that reward you for combat. The precon not only wants you to be aggressive and swing at your opponents, it rewards you for doing so successfully. So I believe that leaning heavily into this not only helps you get that early game value since most of your evasive creature are low to ground as far as mana cost, it also opens up the support for a ninjutsu subtheme that the deck naturally synergizes with. Cards that fit this category include Thada Adel, Varragoth Bloodsky Sire (with has funny synergy with Opposition Agent), Glissa Sunslayer, Lord of The Void (which fits your stealing theme).
    Finally some personal tech cards that may help include Lantern of Insight, Hunted Horror (it's hard to beat a turn two 7/7 with trample and the tokens it makes can be evaded by other cards), Cephalid Facetaker, Warkite Marauder (makes it safer for your less evasive creatures to swing), Xanathar, Opposition Agent (duh), Memory Lapse (usually pretty mediocre but in this deck it's kinda crazy) and finally Sonic Screwdriver and Kaito Shizuki (these just synergize with the deck very well).

  • @imaginarymatter
    @imaginarymatter 2 месяца назад +3

    For cuts in Most Wanted the mana rocks should be removed. There are an endless supply of high quality outlaws in the 2-3 mana range to play instead of mana rocks. With Olivia you want to curve into her naturally on turns 1-3, then on turn 4 play Olivia, and you immediately start triggering her to generate Treasure tokens. The treasure tokens even come into play untapped so you can leave protection up. Mana rocks ironically slow down your gameplan since you spend the early turns playing artifacts instead of playing the outlaws that make you treasure tokens.

    • @BudgetCommanderStreams
      @BudgetCommanderStreams 2 месяца назад

      It's not sufficient to just play outlaws turn 1-3 though. You need to play outlaws with good forms of evasion, which is more limited. Dropping a t1 outlaw with menace isn't going to cut it by turn 4. If this was say an Edric deck then it's very easy to just load up on 1mv unblockables / flyers and skip the ramp for sure, but that's not possible with outlaws (also the payoff is much worse). Instead I advocate running all the cheap outlaws with good evasion and supplement that with good early mana-fixing ramp so your early turns are all filled with impactful plays.

    • @avengedprophet1559
      @avengedprophet1559 2 месяца назад

      Agreed. Every precon looks decent to me. Most wanted and Desert Bloom seem to get the most hate, but they’re still alright. Desert Bloom lacks some cards people wanted (disappointing reprints), but it’s still a functional deck with an interesting strategy (though many people want to see something besides the 100th Naya precon 😅). Most Wanted is all over the place, but it still works surprisingly well (+ I personally love the new cards like “Charred Graverobber” and “Back in Town”).
      Lots of different opinions but I personally disagree with the heavier critics. None of the precons are bad.

    It is the Quick draw and it is not even close, even in casual setting, at least for me. The number of content creator games I have seen and the deck always pop off and spiral out of control. The Weakest is the thief deck which pain me a lot. It is a toss up between the Desert and Outlaw themed deck for me.. Both are good, but kinda "weakened" by their alt commander subtheme
    Also, Stella Lee is already beginning to show some "results" in the cEDH community in their testing. The number of 1 card wincons with her is insane

    seeing the final 3 and the Desert one is not there "imagine being soo wrong about desert power". in all seriousness it's the only one that is doing something unique as a theme considering how niche deserts are; we've all seen izzet spellslinger, thief decks, and treasures matter

  • @imaginarymatter
    @imaginarymatter 2 месяца назад +2

    I would be careful comparing Yuma to Hazezon and I think that consideration is very important when updating the Desert Bloom deck. Hazezon is the landfall commander -- you play deserts and make tokens. Yuma, however, is not a landfall commander. Nothing about Yuma's text cares about putting lands into play; desert or otherwise. And outside of deserts and Naya staples the decklist between the two should be very different. That's because Yuma is a graveyard commander. Yuma is a Naya version of Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. I think the upgrades you want are cards like dredge staples, wheels, Altar of Dementia, Greater Good... Hermit Druid and Underworld Breech. You want to turbo fill your graveyard with possibly the entirety of your library then win from there.
    I think that's why the default deck feels unfocused. It's because it is trying to be both a landfall deck and graveyard deck and I think the upgrade should focus on one or the other.

    • @BudgetCommanderStreams
      @BudgetCommanderStreams 2 месяца назад

      You're correct, Hazezon and Yuma create tokens differently, with Hazezon having a landfall trigger and Yuma having a graveyard trigger. However they are indeed both Land Graveyard decks, as Hazezon plays Deserts from the GY so it cares about that too, and Land decks in general will always have a Graveyard theme to it since the best cards in the archetype are always things like Splendid Rec. And Yuma decks will always care about Landfall, since it's going to be mass reanimating lands. You are right though, the cards you list work much better in a Yuma deck than a Hazezon deck.
      I think the default list is focused though. It's doing exactly what Yuma wants to be doing, discarding / sac'ing / milling lands and getting them back, even if there's a lot of subpar cards they all fit the deck goal.

      (Tomer here) my decks usually run 3-4 these days, I try to run every good one-sided wrath available to me (there's usually 1-2 per archetype these days) and then usually two hard resets as well. My Changeling deck went up to 6 one-sided wipes recently but I noticed my opponents were not having any fun getting demolished that way so I dropped it back down to 4.
