Lmao so true! 😂 When I first started cooking, I asked my mom How much turmeric goes in, and she was like "Just a little", and I said give me a measure. 😂 Now I've gotten used to cooking without measuring.
Basic Indian cooking methods that would make a huge difference to the taste(and also not cause any issues with flatulence) 1)Heat the oil or ghee well. Ghee can hold higher temperature without getting burnt like butter. 2)Then add the dry spices first(cinnamon, mustard, red chillies, cloves, cardamom, fennel seeds, cumin). Each recipe has its own set of dry ingredients. Saute these for a while and don't let it get burnt 3) add onions and cook them until it's caramelized (some recipes don't ask for this). But no Indian recipe has onions that are crunchy in its curry like in this video. That's a very amatuer mistake. 4)add ginger garlic paste(it's a must if you are cooking something spicy and non-vegetarian as it eases digestion and adds flavor) 5)add tomatoes or curd and then add the dry powdered masalas. The logic is that there must be enough water or oil left in the pan when u add powdered spices so it doesn't get burnt. Also simmer down for a while until masalas get separated from the oil. 6)then add the meat. Only Tikka and butter chicken calls for breast pieces. Use other parts of chicken as they are more delicious. 7)the gravy needs to be thick. Korma can be a little thinner than the gravy. 8)Don't add water directly after adding chicken. Let the water from chicken infuse into the masalas. Cover the lid and cook for atleast 5 to 10 mins. And if you think it is getting burnt add some water. Don't use garam and turmeric lots.
Wish tasty would follow atleast this when making indian food next time. Also i have seen my mom adding some masalas at different times not all at once.

Writing it as “Indian Food” recipes is actually what is ticking people off and I agree, you can call it Indian Inspired but certainly not Indian because you’re using some Indian ingredients, but neither the recipe nor the technique is Indian, also, Indians use red onion and all curries have different spices and composition, they don’t “Dump” all the ingredients blatantly into one pot and let it cook. Even the garam masala has many different compositions and varieties as per different tastes and availability. I’m not saying what you’re doing is bad, but the label needs to change because that’s a problem.
I'm Indian and imma show this to my mom. Not everything has to be red and has to have chicken it in. When you'll make some Indian food on your channel, could you try adding the Garam Masala during the final simmering instead of frying with other spices? *when i made food at home my mum disliked it (it actually didn't tasted like original), she said that almost no one here fries garam masala ever as it would leave a bitter after-taste instead it is used as a heating agent which is felt on throat and stomach instead of the tongue. *this can depend on individual preference don't take it seriously, but I think her method is more suitable for dishes taking more than 30 mins of cooking time (on the heat).

As an Indian, I can confirm that we do NOT use Garam Masala OR Yogurt as frequently as imagined or shown here. In fact, in my household, we do not use Garam Masala more than a few times a year or so.
Also, there are other ingredients like Clarified Butter, Asaefoetida, etc.
There is a whole another world of Indian cuisine outside of Curry and Biryani

This makes Indian cuisine seem like 50 shades of heart attack.
1. Indian food isn't all about chicken, I am a pure vegetarian and I have been happily thriving here for 27 years.
2.We use spices and ghee(yes ghee not butter)like normal humans,no one wants bitter meals with oil rigs floating over them.
3.We have many dishes that are actually healthy to be used in diet routines...showcase that too.
Obviously, but this is just the favourites, they are just showing the popular ones.
omg chill
It's OK to use butter ghee is just clarified butter
Im not accustomed to indian food but seeing this video confused me because i thought mostly all dishes were vegetarian!
Holla my dude, where the hell was saag paneer? Not a vego but that shit is the bomb

Indian cuisine. Not a single vegetarian recipe. Four versions of "chicken with any spices you can find in your drawer". Are you for real, Tasty? I am pretty sure there must be at least one Indian in the production team - maybe roll the ideas before them next time?
You guys literally just cooked the same food with the same spices over and over. Please don’t call it Indian recipes when you’re not even taking into account the actual cuisine of India, which is very heavily based in cooking with vegetarian options/vegetables, as well as using other meats beside chicken. Likewise garam masala and turmeric are not all that constitutes Indian spices. Using it in one dish is fine but please do some research
