The one thing that impressed me about military unit organisation is that it's a balancing act between your units being specialised at one specific thing they are supposed to do and being able to handle or at least survive as many other situations they could find themselves in. It's essentially creating mini arimes and stacking them like legos into a larger and larger army.

Just like how they didn't do anything when Putin started using Thermobaric bombs. Don't get me wrong, the MAD principle is still in place and the only reason there isn't US/NATO/UN boots on the ground in Ukraine is because Russia has nuclear ordinance that can be shot anywhere in Europe. And also the US State Department and Pentagon admitted in 2015 in a released report that Russia's RS-28 (Sarmat) aka SATAN II nuclear ICBM system could launch a nuke as far as El Paso, Texas in the US. The State Department and Pentagon also mentioned that if Russia launched the nuclear payload in a hyper-sonic way that even the US's best ground and satellite based missile interdiction systems would only have a 50% success rate at stopping a hyper-sonic ICBM. A tactical nuclear device and traditional ICBM nuclear ordinance are not the same thing. And what I was saying was if Putin has to he will deploy a tactical nuclear device. That does not mean he fires a ICBM into Ukraine that kills literally everyone. Enjoy the show in Ukraine.

As for me the only case when it can come true is if Ukraine will start real offensive on Donbas. There are lots of Russian citizens, so we shall see the same "peace enforcement" operation to protect them that took place when Georgia launched the attack on South Ossetia.
I do not even mention attack on Crimea as a war starter cause Russia claims it to be Russian territory, and any attack on Crimea will be taken as attack on Russia.

Your unit icon for armour (tank) is armour + tracked. I'm not sure if other NATO nations use it that way, but at least for Germany, this would be redundant. Armour is just armour. Mech Inf is something different, because they come wheeled or tracked. Main battle tanks are always tracked, as far as i know.

I also heard that and was surprised.
Every regiment or brigade has 3 manoeuver battalions. 2 will provide BTGs while the 3rd will serve as reserve.
For support assets, Regiments/brigades have battalions (artillery, air defense, recon) each of them has 3 companies or company level units (in air defence and artillery are called batteries) so they can put out a company for every BTG. Even regiment/brigade attached sniper companies have 3 platoons each to be able to deploy 10-20 sniper pairs in every BTG.
