G2★ Nerscylla Vs. Valor Great Sword - Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate - ネルスキュラ 大剣 ソロ【MHXX】

Nerscylla is a very cool monster that's really missing in recent MH games. I hope she comes back eventually, because monsters like her and Seltas Queen really give a ton of variety to monster rosters.
One thing I really like about the spider, beetle etc designs in Monster Hunter like Nerscylla and Seltas Queen is how they have 4 legs and two mandibles, instead of 6 legs. It's like a really cool streamlined design that really works, perhaps it was done because animating 6 legs would have been harder for the devs but either way I love it. Athal-Ka is based on a praying mantis, so it's normal that she has 4 legs.
Nersyclla is a decent fight with as you would expect, a lot of unique animations and movement. Slam attacks, Spiderman somersaults, dart stings, and her iconic mandible bite attack. She also has a lot of cool movements like that crab-like crawling she can do to reposition and make you lose sight of her.
There's also some miscellaneous but really cool stuff she does like acting as if she was taunting/AFKing like at 2:33 and then following that bait with an instant mandible bite.
Overall pretty cool monster, she does look a lot less frightening when you remove the spikes and Gypceros hide on her back, which can boost your morale on taking down this spider if you're scared of those.

Always liked that you could straight up break off Nerscylla's front claws which completely removes those attacks from her moveset (although it's usually almost dead by then). Really makes you feel like you've got the upper hand on the monster you're hunting.

Loving the GenU content, still my fav Monster Hunter game. Hunting Arts system is so much better to me than Wirebug skills (I dislike that wirebugs are used by common actions as well as weapon skills) and Styles were so amazing even if they were horribly balanced. I started with World and then went back to this game and I really felt like I was getting the condensed history of the franchise.

Hey Lynn. Have you ever considered playing Frontier (given that you're already using emulators)? Or has Hammer being sub par in it turned you off?

Hey Ya'qub, so, this is a difficult question to answer, Frontier is a game I enjoyed watching videos of a lot when I was younger, on channels such as AzureStarStone, Narugarex, etc. But I don't feel confident enough to give it a try, to do a playthrough of the game, because I'm not a huge fan of its combat (the majority of monsters having 360° silly slam attacks turn me off, even if I know you can easily roll through all these kinds of attacks) and also because I heard the game has some insanely grindy mechanics when it comes to upgrading gear, decorations etc.
As for Hammer, I had no idea it was bad in that game, and look... I played 4U for 5,000 hours with Hammer despite it being garbage in that game and being completely overshadowed by Charge Blade, so trust me when I say that even if I knew Hammer was bad in Frontier I wouldn't care lmao

Generations has done a lot of cool things. But I really disliked a lot of styles. Dodge attacks and learn the Monster. That was the most basic thing you had to learn to succeed in each Monster Hunter. With those styles...they changed that into: "Hit me so that I can counter you"...which just doesnt feel right to me. Thats why I also despise the new LS.
