Tempered Legiana Vs. Hammer - Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - レイギエナ ハンマー ソロ【MHWI】

Legiana is a fine fight. For a Flying Wyvern introduced in World, it honestly gets the job done. It's a monster with enough unique features that unlike Paolumu or Pukei-Pukei, I can't really call it a Rathian clone.
I really like Legiana's design. From what I recall reading, this monster's wings, tail and antenna membranes are inspired by real airplanes. Despite its appearance, it's also an extremely territorial and aggressive monster, as you'll see at the beginning of this run ; forcing me to don the ghillie to eat my stuff in peace.
Legiana is a monster that fights in the air a lot, but it's not that big of a deal. Even without abusing flash bombs and such this is still perfectly playable even with such a short ranged weapon as Hammer. It's a chill fight, no pun intended ; I really like how Legiana is an ice monster despite the Coral Highlands not being an "ice" map.

What does Paolumu have that makes you able to see it as a Rathian clone? Honest curiosity.
And yeah, base World really neglected ice element. Legiana carried it until Iceborne's release

They both basically just have the most basic Flying Wyvern moveset, so Rathian. Pukei-Pukei is basically the same fight as Rathian, and Paolumu has *nothing* unique in its fight except when it gets in the air. On the ground it's the same ; charges and tail spins and nothing else.

@@athos9293 Pukei has the same physical attacks and does pretty much the same projectile attacks as Rathian except it's fire instead of poison...
Keep in mind i'm talking about Base World too, Pukei was slightly more upgraded in G rank and in Rise.

@@dynamo_lynn i mean in low he had that aerial clawing sequence, all the tongue stretching, nut busting added to his venom spits when he eats, the fog from his tail etc.
Still nothing like Qurupeco, Aknosom or Malfestio though in terms of variety and innovation
