I don’t see how you would get lucky for it too be any of the pulleys near the balancer the balancer itself isn’t super pricy the worst part is having too take everything off in the way too get there. But your tensioner pulley is bad if it’s just falling off id assume I’d replace all the little pulleys an balancer at once
Definitely replace them all at the same time for the peace of mind. I swapped most of mine but have another squeaking now 😅
Yes I am about to enter the process myself unfortunately but has to get done at some point with all c5s I’d say, its smart to replace them all just cause it’ll be another project in no time. they are kinda squeaky cars I’ve found out lol
For sure! I have videos over each step of getting to the harmonic balancer if you're looking for some. I ended up swapping mine out in winter while it was snowing. Bad timing haha
Great video! This video is applicable on all LS's. My LS7 harmonic balancer just walked off onto the steering rack, snapped both belts. I'm replacing it with an ATI Super Damper balancer and an ARP crank bolt, I also ordered an ATI crank pin kit
Thank you for the feedback! That's good to know, it works for all LS's. I should have gotten the pin kit, but the gasket maker worked pretty well. Sadly I sold it earlier this year though.
Wait so what are you mentioning at 7:20 about it not reaching the motor yet?
I'm referring to the harmonic balancer. When this starts to happen it's very likely that the wobbling will cause it to rub against the front of the block. Someone's meaning a new oil pan and at worst a block.

I wouldn't be surprised. Thinking it's time to set the full build in motion once life calms down

@@sothbeachboy2195 dang! I'm waiting on one more tool. Then I'll start the Balancer replacement. I've got an issue with my heating and ac but don't think I'll worry about it yet

I fixed mine myself. I have a few videos on the steps to do it, there was a lot to remove to get access to it
