When you first installed the shoe was backwards. The second and third time you face the shoe correctly. There’s a grove cut to fit over the front bolt hole when compressed. I did the same thing when I installed mine. Great video
You're measuring wrong for the 3/8" spacing, by adding the shims you're decreasing the space not increasing. The shims are for primary chains that have stretched out over time. Hayden support doesn't exist and they need to correct this issue.
🤔🤔, there’s no mention of that in the instructions. I also went ahead and added a bit more slack in the chain. I’m glad I did if what you mentioned is true 👍
You are right about Hayden support being non existent. My spacing is 1/4” without any shims. And like you stated, adding shims reduces spacing, so based upon Hayden specs 1/4” is too tight. I called and emailed Hayden. No reply. The phone goes straight to voicemail and they won’t call back. I went ahead and left it Installed with 1/4” spacing. Does anyone have any feedback about similar spacing and results?
Hard to tell exactly where you are measuring from, but I believe the measurement is from top of shim to bottom of tensioner. That measurement/clearance allows tensioner to move up and down freely without bottoming out. Also a good rule of thumb is to fill primary to bottom of clutch diaphragm spring/pressure plate, with bike upright. Most All bikes that is 32oz/1Qt or 36-40oz. Regardless bottom of pressure plate.

Thanks, someone else mentioned that too. I didn’t realize it was directional, when I installed it, glad I got it right 👍
13:06 if you aren't sure how much is in there, why not to a dry fill right off the bat?

I know having a tight chain could damage the comp or clutch basket, so I kept it at 1/2” instead of 3/8”

It would have been nice to see you start it up
I have it on a RUclips short, minimal noise 👍
ooo! ooo! Do mine next!
how's the chain tension before you remove the stock?
It’s automatic tensioner but, per Harley manual it should be 5/8. Hayden manual wants it at 3/8, so I kept it at 1/2”

a C hair away from 3/8ths?
This looks like more trouble than it's worth 😳
