I love all these buyer guides! Later in the year if I need anew rod or reel I can look back at these videos and see what you guys use. Super descriptions!
Thank you, gentlemen! Interesting little exchange about how you always seem to end up teaching in these. I don't think we ever stop teaching and learning; I know it makes me smile when a random passer-by asks what I am fishing for. I don't get as many teaching opportunities as I used to, but I cherish them when they do come along. Thanks!
Guy's you hit it out of the park. Your content is unmatched. If i want to jnow anything about fishing.. its...hsjsksbbd... tactical bassin... search.... 😂 great work.
Guys give some love to the LC Pointer 65. Killer in ponds. Worked for me all spring and summer and it’s still working for me in winter with ice on the edge of my pond. BE Gill color if bluegills primary forage. Great vid as usual!! Yes, gotta throw it with a spinning rod. I use 10 lb braid to 6 lb fluoro.
Jerkbait been my favorite way to catch bass for the last 6 years. It’s my confidence lure because I used it as my search bait. It’s an all year lure to used.
Officially the time of year where the lake is frozen but not thick enough to be on. Got plenty of stuff added to my winter tackle order these videos are filling up my wishlist
Best subject ever , i,m usually fishing 🎣 from the bank , i found a St Croix 6’8’ Legend tournament ( casting)and also using a spinning rod for the smaller stuff
Guys must have been sitting on this video still got leaves on the tree :-) love the video guys can't wait for each video to come out. Love to maybe fish with you guys one day.
love the channel you guys are awesome! Is the Shimano expride rod you were recommending the Medium Glass with a Moderate taper OR Medium with a Moderate Fast taper? Thanks
We could listen to you guys for another 20 minutes 🤣. We had some great days this fall with the Jr. +1 in natural & bold colors. You still get bites without sacrificing big bites. Just picked up my first 6'10" med Expride A on sale. Can't wait to pair it with the C70MGL with straight floro.
I got the expride 610 and paired it with an aldebaren per your recommendations last year and I'm blown away at how nice it is. All my other rods and reels are mid-range to upper-midrange and you can fornsure notice a difference in quality. The aldebaren is just so crisp and precise
Wow guys, y'all did a great job on a lure I rarely use due only to where I fish, generally pitching and flipping shallow bank cover. As usual, you made something I'm not into interesting and I want to thank you for doing so.
I have caught just about every species of fish in my home lakes on a 110+1 Jr. from Bass & Pike to Bluegill, Crappie, Perch, The Ito Clear Laker & Kasumi Ito colors are just downright lethal! 🔥🔥 That Kasumi Ito color is a picture perfect match to the Alewife in Lake Michigan, I lay into the Great Lake smallies hard with that color!
I saw recently in a past video you guys were going over tackle storage, specifically line storage. When you guys change line on reels do you save the old line, which probably isn't that old, to spool another reel or do you trash the older line and start over. Love your videos!! Thanks
Absolutely love the Shimano World Diver Flash in Ghost Ayu. I've caught some of the best cold fish this year on that with a very slow steady retrieve. I've also put a lot of use into the cheaper Jenko Pursues 110 instead of the Megabass Vision, nearly same thing and a LOT cheaper.
I’m pretty in love with the Destroyer P5 Oneten Stick for my casting setup and the Valkyrie medium spinning rod for my spinning setup. Going to be trying the P5 Cyclone for me larger and deeper diving jerkbaits in the future.
Well. I’m scared to keep watching. I found you guys recently. I have had to regroup for about 6 years and am now re-entering the tournament scene. So much has changed. You’ve both made it so easy to catch up on tackle. Thank you! But. You have already spent the next 10k I make. Money well spent I say. You guys have saved me a mountain of wasted money on grabbing cool looking stuff at shows over the winter. Next Black Friday e everything gets upgraded in that rod locker. I have the year to save and work overtime. Thanks for your hard work.
If I’ve said it one time I’ve said it a hundred times….jerk bait fishing is my Kryptonite! I have a dedicated rod and reel for it, but I just don’t get bites. I know it’s user error, but my frustration level is not good. I appreciate videos like this that give me tips like line and pause times and brands that I have not considered.
I don’t throw jerkbaits much cause I don’t seem to ever get bit on them. The other day I unloaded everything out of my boat. My next trip out I’m only taking jerkbaits and my one jerkbait rod. My goal is to learn how to effectively fish a jerkbait. Thanks for the video guys! 👍
@richardbossman9875 I agree with you on the Berkeley Stunna 112. Two weeks ago I smashed the bass with the Stunna. My friend was like WTH? He said "Damn not another one." That was after I caught 15th bass. My total catch for the day on the Stunna 112 was 24 bass. I love the way it darts.
I have probably 35-40 vision 110 and another 10 110 jr+1. I definitely find myself using the jr+1 the most and also have the most success with them. I do have a vision 110 addiction though. Gotta love Megabass and the ito vision 110. Paired with a jerkbait special and a metanium shallow
I was thinking how great it would be to have water temperature on your fishing videos just as a starting point Love the information Hate what it does to my retirement 😅
Thanks so much guys! As always you stuck it! I was wondering however if you have tried the MG Orochi Whipsnake spinning rod? If not, you should. If so, what did you think? Thanks again. You guys sure have helped my game.
Spinning gear is 100% the way to go unless your concerned about cover. I go shorter than most fishing from a kayak but from a boat I’d imagine 6’6”-6’10”. Further casting and lighter line makes a huge difference for depth along with excellent action and the ability to keep fish pinned better.
I haven't handled those 2 shimano rods to know if they're roughly the same action. They however aren't labels as the same action. The expride is listed as moderate fast and the curado is fast.
thanks good stuff!. I am sure it has been asked before or maybe I missed it, but what happened to the Champion 210. I miss it! Keep up the great work. Just placed a big order at TW so......your welcome! Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas! The 210 didn't go anywhere, Tim still has it. But the road miles take their toll and that boat was a gem. Tim made the call to get a new boat and in the meantime that one went in for major trailer work, fiberglass repair, new carpet, wiring, Etc. It earned its place as a garage queen from here on 😆
110’s are amazing, but you guys should try the OSP Varuna 110SP jerkbaits. Thankfully not many guys fish them so for now they are as good or better than the MB 110.
I’m throwing them 😊. I feel they’re in between the 110 and the Rerange. A little more aggressive than the Megabass, but not quite as much as the Jackall. So many awesome colors too.
Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about the strike king kvd jerkbaits? Ive tried several different ones and by far the strike king gets bit, and catches giants on my local lake. Thanks for the videos, you’ve made me such a better angler!
@Akili DeBrady Wednesday is the toughest day to beat me, unless my husky puppy gets too rowdy right before post time.🤣😂🙌🏻 On Wednesdays I usually get up at 3:50 AM Central Time, it sucks.😩🥱 I'm about to start my hour-plus commute.🚗
Thanks guys. I understand that the vision 110 is the heat. There just has to be other options that are close. I don't have your experience on jerkbaits but have been throwing some yo-zuri baits that suspend perfect and the action from above looks great. Yo-Zuri also has a very shallow option I need for the tidal fishery I fish. Rapala have huge followings from pros to Joe's. My buddy kills on X-Raps and you just cannot ignore that. I feel you two should remember your roots and go a little blue collar. Honestly very and I mean very few people I compete against throw G Loomis rods (and that's because they need all the help they can get) or vision 110s or megabass of any kind. I am not busting balls here I just think times are getting tough and I think you feel you cater to all but really you can be a bit much. Sorry guys.
Your videos are the best. I have been studying up on jerk baits and I am curious what action you do on the Expride rods? I know Medium power, but you never say what action you recommend. Thanks!
Thanks for the video and great information! Recently trying to get more serious with bass fishing, I purchased 16 pound FC sniper and have been using it as a leader. Can I just use it as mainline on a jerkbait rod or will i need to purchase smaller flouro? What’s the downsize of using the bigger line when fishing jerkbaits/ crank baits?
What separates the Ronin from the Expride 6'8" medium spinning rod in regards to a jerkbait? I see that Ronin is rated for up to 3/4 oz and didn't know if that's just what separates it.
I've been waiting on this one. I've got the Expride and the Ronin and love them both, but their almost identical as far as the specs. Ones 2" shorter, but the lure rating is the same. I'm wanting to drop to smaller jerkbaits like the Megabass x-nanahan, but cast them out as far. I'm not currently throwing braid to leader on the spinning rod, so that would help. I'm wondering if you guys have some time with the Megabass Whipsnake since it's a little longer and rated for smaller lures. Then, I think I'll have my jerkbait system dang near dialed in, and I'll just have to work dialing down my cadences.
Thank you guys for the amazing tips! I would have a question regarding reels. Is the Metanium MGL good also for this type of fishing and or topwater walking/popping? Asp here in Europe really love topwater baits and jerkbaits too. I’m looking for a reel with which I could maybe cover some distance, but if I want to go close to the shore, I could easily throw lighter 3/16oz or 1/4oz baits like the Daiwa Wise Minnow 50. Also how does the Bantam deal with these types of baits if you don’t mind me asking?
Fantastic 2022 Jerkbait video! These buyers guides have me at the edge of my family's budget in spending, LOL! This year's buyer guide is a bit more narrow than December 2021. For example you dropped the rip stop (one of my favorites) or anything from Rapala and the Slimjack. Did either brand not do well in 2022? Also I am amazed that the Megabass Orochi Ronin spinning beat the Poison Adrena 6'11" spinning for jerkbaits in your guide. I do understand the Megabass Orochi Ronin was built for the Vision 110, but the action just doesn't seem as dialed in as the Adrena. That said, my math may be a bit off.
We really appreciate your perspective! This one is more narrow because we just did an in depth jerkbait video. We wanted this to focus on the key boats that we use all the time instead of on the whole spectrum. The Adrena may have slipped by us... thats very interesting because I can picture exactly what you mean... I'll take a 2nd look. 👍🏼
So glad Tim said what we could all see on his face. Him sitting there going ok cut it shorter or here we go down the rabbit hole. Just makes me laugh every time he gets that look and for once he admitted exactly what that look is. Even though we all knew what it was.
How is the Shimano Zodias 6’10 medium casting rod for a jerkbait rod? I always see u guys rave about the expride, Curado and SLX. Is the action on the Zodias different?
You guys really did it this year! I say it a lot but THANK-YOU for doing all this for us, the wife and I really enjoy watching every video!
This! Couldn’t agree more.
Thank you! We appreciate the support! We're just happy to be able to do it.
Thank you, professors!! A Tactical Bassin’ Seminar is always what is needed!!
You guys rock 👍
You guys r one of the best, if not the best, got back to fishing after 30 years... I'm in for seminars, keep on helping us enjoy, respect!
I'd take a TB seminar every day. Thanks much for what you guys do
I love all these buyer guides! Later in the year if I need anew rod or reel I can look back at these videos and see what you guys use. Super descriptions!
It's a cold Wednesday morning in Philly, but I have my morning cup-a-joe and Tactical Bassin' to get my day started off right!
Glad you are finally mentioning spinning gear. My success rate went way up when I switched to straight flouro on a spinning rod.
Thanks!
The 6’8” XF bassX spinning rod has been a great jerkbait rod for me last year
Man this was a fun rewatch today. One of your best videos.
Love the “seminars”!!!!!! Don’t change a thing!!!!
Home run on this one guys, thanks for the GREAT video and keeping it simple (but with plenty of important information for us), well done!
Guy's you hit it out of the park. Your content is unmatched. If i want to jnow anything about fishing.. its...hsjsksbbd... tactical bassin... search.... 😂 great work.

Around here, the trout hammer it too.
Jerkbait been my favorite way to catch bass for the last 6 years. It’s my confidence lure because I used it as my search bait. It’s an all year lure to used.
The megabass +2 is a sleeper. Great video as always fellas!
The black colored one too
Thank you for the video! Tried jerkbait fishing this year and it was a blast! Vision 110 is the way to go!
Officially the time of year where the lake is frozen but not thick enough to be on. Got plenty of stuff added to my winter tackle order these videos are filling up my wishlist
Have y’all try the dobyns kaden 6104cb for jerkbait?
Like I've said before, this video will be watched by many many inshore speckled trout guys. Thanks for all the info.
This was really cool for a beginner to Jerkbaits! It would be really helpful if you could make an a rig buyers guide!
I love the new editing style guys!
Love all the videos but I have learned so much about jerkbait fishing from u gut. Thank u and keep em coming!
Best subject ever , i,m usually fishing 🎣 from the bank , i found a St Croix 6’8’ Legend tournament ( casting)and also using a spinning rod for the smaller stuff
Just picked up a new 13fishing reel thanks to the buyers guide!
Thanks!
You guys would have made great door-to-door salesmen. I want to buy everything you talk about.
If you take fishing seriously and aren’t watching this what are you doing
Something else 🤣
Fishing?
You’re sitting there saying to yourself “alls I need is a jig”
Is this a riddle?
@steven cochran lol...that was exactly what I was thinking too.
Yes!!!!
Guys must have been sitting on this video still got leaves on the tree :-) love the video guys can't wait for each video to come out. Love to maybe fish with you guys one day.

Bought a few flash pointer 100s can't wait to try them out

I have got used to using the KVD jerk bait rod it’s pretty nice
Please tell me how shimano expride 172MH copes with the jerky wiring of 130 wobbles
I love TacticalBassin when I want to nerd out on baits and technical info on setups
Love what and how you guys do! information is for everyone, excellent content.
Jerk bait definitely was the key bait yesterday while fishing 2 jerks and a pause them bam bass
these guys have alot of confidence
I saw recently in a past video you guys were going over tackle storage, specifically line storage. When you guys change line on reels do you save the old line, which probably isn't that old, to spool another reel or do you trash the older line and start over. Love your videos!! Thanks

Sweet I will try those and ya I’m surprised they didn’t mention any budget jerkbaits all crazy expensive I like the yo zuri 3db 110 so too
Another yo-zuri fan right here.
Nice video guys! Can y’all do a short video maybe soon how y’all change the hooks particularly on the vision 110 series? Thanks guys!
Is that the Expride 6'10 glass or the 6'10 moderate fast action??
NOT the glass model
@@tacticalbassin do you think it would be equally good for top water? Seems to have a similar action/technique on the rod side.
Have you guys played with the duo realis jerkbaits?
Yes i love them 😋🎣
Dobyns KD 734CB and KD610 are good jerk bait rods.
Give the rapala ripstop a shot for shallow water, has an amazing action on the twitch and straight retrieval,, also has a great flash
I’m pretty in love with the Destroyer P5 Oneten Stick for my casting setup and the Valkyrie medium spinning rod for my spinning setup. Going to be trying the P5 Cyclone for me larger and deeper diving jerkbaits in the future.

I have the MegaBass Ronin paired with the Lews TLC 3000. Absolute killer on 8lb floro

Trying to get into more jerkbait fishing, no better time than now!

I would add the Berkley Stunna 112 to the warm water lineup, the thing absolute walks and darts underwater.

You guys do good job. I have recognized how you guys are talking about Shimano a lot more is that a new sponsor?
Thanks guys you but out some great info.
Thanks for the awesome vid! Question- when looking at the Expride B would you recommend the 6'10" Medium or 6'10" Medium Glass?
Medium, NOT glass
@@tacticalbassin 👍🙏
I was thinking how great it would be to have water temperature on your fishing videos just as a starting point
Love the information
Hate what it does to my retirement 😅
I like the picture of the jerkbaits the Lucky Craft flash pointer in crystal pro blue that’s the one. Good memories

Merry Christmas! The 210 didn't go anywhere, Tim still has it. But the road miles take their toll and that boat was a gem. Tim made the call to get a new boat and in the meantime that one went in for major trailer work, fiberglass repair, new carpet, wiring, Etc. It earned its place as a garage queen from here on 😆
Beard is looking tight, Matt. Beard maintenance for the win!
What hooks do you guys use on the vision 110 Jr & Jr +1?
110’s are amazing, but you guys should try the OSP Varuna 110SP jerkbaits. Thankfully not many guys fish them so for now they are as good or better than the MB 110.
I’m throwing them 😊. I feel they’re in between the 110 and the Rerange. A little more aggressive than the Megabass, but not quite as much as the Jackall. So many awesome colors too.
I could listen to Matt talk about fishing gear all day 😂 I can also blame him for my expensive taste in fishing rods lmao
Is the glass expride B going to be a good choice?
Curious, do you ever use the Vision 110 Silent Jerkbait? If so, when? Thanks!
Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about the strike king kvd jerkbaits? Ive tried several different ones and by far the strike king gets bit, and catches giants on my local lake. Thanks for the videos, you’ve made me such a better angler!
Great stuff as always! I know you were streamlining content but curious on where you come in at on the 110+2 vs the 110+1. Thanks!
FIRST!!!🥇🏆🎣 But who's counting???🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
🤙 I do
Just get accustomed to writing "Second!" on your posts. Lol. Kidding. It's all good fun.
Do you use a snap swivel or clip to clip to the jerkbait or just tie line straight to lure?
Sorry guys.
Berkeley Stunna is absolutely incredible.
Your videos are the best. I have been studying up on jerk baits and I am curious what action you do on the Expride rods? I know Medium power, but you never say what action you recommend. Thanks!
Shimano recently released the 6 10 medium model in the SLX line. For those of us truly on a budget can we expect similar action from this rod?
Would any of the MBR rods be good for jerkbaits? What about the 6’10 Medium Zodias?
Gloomis IMXpro JerkBait rod all day
What speed/gear ratio baitcasters do you use and recommend?
Hey Guys, Is the Zodias 6'10" medium an adequate alternative to the expride, or should I just spend the extra $70?
Thanks for the video and great information! Recently trying to get more serious with bass fishing, I purchased 16 pound FC sniper and have been using it as a leader. Fantastic 2022 Jerkbait video! These buyers guides have me at the edge of my family's budget in spending, LOL! This year's buyer guide is a bit more narrow than December 2021. Please answer my question.. I feel like I’ve asked about the Zodias in some of your other jerkbait videos too!!!
I've the shamano world minnow I got a 18 lb bag 2 weeks ago with the all gold!!
I have so many 110’s and I don’t think I’ve caught a single bass on any of them. I can’t bit to save my life.
Truthfully they are so overhyped it’s ridiculous..(just about everything Megabass) now they work well in smallmouth water but it’s just not my thing.
