The victims are all males ranging between the ages of 16 and 27.

Its actually in a good area between downtown and campus. The bars and restaurants in this area are not playing gang gang music if that is what you're implying. Its surprising news to me because I know the area isn't known for this.

In my area, there was a guy who was murdered because he went to retrieve an item from his car he'd forgotten to bring in when he got home from work. He interrupted some guys burgling his car. There had not been a homicide in that neighborhood since 1946, but he's just as dead. A violent encounter can happen anywhere, anytime.

The 'Short North' is a section of N. High St., just after you leave downtown, right past the Convention Center. It has a ton of shops, restaurants, bars and art galleries up and down its length with black iron arches that light up at night. Once a month (or they used to) they hold the 'Gallery Hop', with outdoor and indoor music while people parade up and down its length meeting up with friends/family for dinner, etc and shopping. Then, N. High St. continues on towards campus.

The Short North is quite gentrified now, has been since they redid most of High St, many years ago. They got rid of the crazy Jamaican Posse Gang that had been causing so many problems but there is still a big gang problem in C-bus. Wonder what happened to the curfew there? As if the gangs adhered to it!
