    Better use your sense
    Take what you have gathered
    From coincidence
The empty handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
The sky too is fallin' in over you
And it's all over now, baby blue
    Leave your stepping stones behind
There's something that calls for you
    Forget the debt you've left
    That will not follow you
Your lover who has just walked through the door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet too is foldin' over you
And it's all over now baby blue
    Well, strike another match
Yeah, go start new, go start new

A few years ago while looking for something on the shelf at my little hometown supermarket, the Muzak played the Eagles song, take it to the limit, I realized that in our world nothing is sacred any more. Baby Blue released while I was going through excruciating pain from loss of the only love of my life to the gods of war. It took years for me to 'recover'. Baby Blue kept me in good stead. When Bob evolved from social conscious to love songs he became a great artist. Master Wordsmith. There were many more, way stations to inspire and refresh along the journey. @@dumena Thank you. As much as I liked Dylan's acoustic work, his electric arrangements was as if he found a vein of gold. If he had continued mounting museum pieces of "folk", he probably would have disappeared into the also performing category. I think he was more interested in music as art than symbolic of political virtue. "I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine " induces the sense of loss, in me, also. It is interesting that aficionados seem less interested in "Visions of Johanna" or "Tangled Up In Blue". I think he is at his greatest when he composes love music. A little backstory on this
Dylan had just finished playing Maggies Farm and Like a Rolling Stone on the electric guitar with his bandmate on the drums and both songs were really loud and rock and roll compared to the rest of the ones at the Folk Festival and a lot of people were booing. The older generation of legends backstage like Pete Seager (who Bob really admired) were even threatening to cut the cable because it didn't sound like folk music. Anyway, Bob was shaken up enough to leave the stage after just 3 songs (even though he was the headliner and some of the other musicians had gone on for hours). Petter Yarrow ended up running up on stage with everyone booing and asked through the mic "Bobby will you play another song please?" So Bob finally came back out, just him, his harmonica, and his acoustic, and played this song.

I can't quote the specifics offhand, but I think that Pete Seeger denied that he tried to cut or unplug the cable. He was certainly surprised and nonplussed, but I don't think he tried to cut off Dylan's performance. And while there's no telling what people might have done in a moment of surprise, Pete Seeger was very open-minded in the kinds of music he played, certainly as far as language and culture, so it would be odd to see him try to censor something.

It's strange, how some things stay the same. I heard on the radio that he is about to turn 80. I then chose to listen to "Bringing It All Back Home" on Spotify, because that was the record my sister bought, and I - for some reason, I don't remember - put on the record player around 1984. The closing song of the album, which is "It's all over now baby blue" moved me then, when I was 14, and it still does now, that I am almost 52.
Other songs I listened to when I was 14, 20, 25 etc maybe render a smile and a sigh (well, I was young after all, and easily impressible). This is one of those that don't, and well, I guess that's what they call timeless.

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out, the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, baby blue
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
The sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, baby blue
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
Your empty-handed army is all going home
You lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, baby blue
Leave your stepping stones behind now, something calls for you
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, baby blue

I believe this is about Sara Dylan about his advice for her leaving Hans Lownds. In Never Say Goodbye he sings "O baby baby blue youll change your last name too" in a song clearly about Sara.

I’m replying to the post below mine it was George Harrison who stated he had a rough time in the IOW they booed and he went into seclusion after that. That’s why I was surprised at the people of. Manchester booing him from the person in the post below mine but you was there, so I’m really pleased we didn’t do it then there are a few Manchester’s one in the states maybe a mix up :)

This is right after he played electric with Blumfield, he was made to go back out and play acoustic. The crowd was still upset. They're heckling him. His biggest fans. Unbelievable. And then he absolutely slays them with this. It's Newport. They just reset the stage for him to play acoustic.
