Hey Jared, I just bought the open box 24 inch Cameo today. Woot! Even though I have the Graphtec 24 inch and 36 inch cutters, this is perfect for our staff to learn on and we go to road trips and swap meets on the weekends.
Nice! Yes, I've found that Silhouette is a great starting point for getting into the industry. My first cutter was a Cameo 2 back in 2016. Even though I have access to all the big toys at HPN, I still find myself going back to the Cameo pretty often. -Jared
I don't know why they even cameout with a 24" cutter thats not on point with the other ones like not having a servo motor means its go be loud, not having a stand etc. I mean u can get a us cutter laserpoint 3 for $649 or there lower end model for $449 and both comes with stand and catch basket.but hey i guess everyone is going after the crafter business now haha.
Hello, thank you very much for your video, it was a great review for the model. I am currently in a search for a vinyl cutter and sadly the graphtec CE7000 is out of my budget (I want to start with something cheaper so to see if I can find customers for it). I am currently looking at the Cameo 4 Pro and the GCC Expert II 24 LX - which one in your opinion is a better choice for a starter business with a low budget? I am going to be doing mostly stickers and using the cutting mat to cut badge designs etc (so will need the "optical eye") and probably some vinyl for small projects too. Really appreciate the time if you help me solve this dilemma. Have a lovely day!:)
Business Edition is a lifetime upgrade. So whenever you update to the latest version of Silhouette Studio in the future, you'll automatically have all the Business Edition features unlocked.
Hey Jared, just got my cameo 4 pro but i cant get to cut propoerly (at all...!0. When i put either a HTV roll (15in) or a cutting mat, both slideson the right side. Can you do a proper demo as theres othing on youtube about it?
Hey Anthony, I have the same issue, I hate this machine, I never had this problem with the 15 inch cameo, I want my money back asap, I'm so dissapointed.
Hi there, is it possible to print projects on this machine using the Pen tool and then pass its through again to cut our your design? I want to use this machine for textile pattern cutting so very basic black and white designs...Thanks
Yes, these machines can hold two different tools, each able to run it's own job on the same piece of material. So you can load your blade in one tool holder and a pen tool in the other, then specify what parts you want to the pen to sketch and the blade to cut.
I would love them to bring out a 34" for it would truely go sweetly with The Sawgrass VJ628 25" sublimation printer to do those 2/3/4 X tees and the legs/arms the Silhouette CAMEO software and the Sawgrass software are excellent and easy to use, but hey i can dream, HeatPressNation thank you as always great video.
It depends on what projects you plan on creating. Some bundles have heat transfer vinyl (HTV) for making t-shirts. Other bundles have adhesive decal vinyl for making stickers. Some have specialty items like glitter or patterned vinyl.
Hi, Do you have military discount and do you ship to germany? We are trying to start up an innovation program for soldiers and are looking at getting this machine. It would help soldiers during covid restrictions by keeping them busy on their off time. Already have 3d printers, wood shop, and metal fabrication. This would be an awesome addition. Thank you.
Yes, we do have a military discount. Please email support@heatpressnation.com or call (800)215-0894 for more info on how to have that discount applied to your order. Unfortunately, we do not ship outside the USA at all. We love what you're doing out there for our soldiers! Our ground shipping is free, so maybe you can get someone here in the states to forward it to you?
I wish silhouette would listen to their customers. I'd like to score thicker materials than the Cameo 4 can presently handle. Running a razor blade down a scored line is so much better than freehand. I use my Cameo to make gaskets for my auto projects. Anybody modify their Cameo 4 for thicker materials? Thank you.
Silhouette upped the max material thickness to 3mm on the 4, Plus, & Pro. (Previous models were 2mm) However, if you need something thicker, you may want to consider a CNC machine.
I purchased the Cameo Pro on November 22, 2020 and I couldn't get it to work no matter what I tried. I finally said forget and took it back to Michaels. To spend this kind of money and then for it not to work. Never again!
I had a great experience with the cameo 4 plus 15inch, but the owner of the 15incher left my office with the cameo 4plus, so I was excited to get the Pro, but I had many problems, because I brought it online at Michaels, I was able to take it to a Michaels store and get a full refund on my card, then I searched for a cameo 4 plus 15 inch online, practically everyone was sold out, then I found one at Heat Transfer Warehouse, they shipped it out today, I will get it Wednesday or Thursday. I'm still a Silhouette customer, but I cant recommend the Cameo Pro at this time, I do think it will get better in the future, Im thankful to Mchaels for refunding me in full on the spot in the store, now I cant wait to get the cameo 4 plus.
There is an embossing tool available, but it's not true engraving and only works on very thin materials. All compatible fonts that you download and install on your computer will be automatically loaded into Silhouette Studio, which is the design program that comes with all Cameo cutters.
Please do not change your cameo 4 for the Cameo Pro. You won't be able to do a bigger print and cut, since the mat keeps on slipping under the rolls. Other than that, it is not good for cutting thick cardboard , because the media gets stuck. It's a mess !
The rollers are adjustable to fit the different sizes of cutting mats that are available. A mat slipping or misfeeding is very likely due to the rollers not being set in the proper location. The Cameo Pro has a maximum media thickness of 3mm. However, you'll also need the 3mm Kraft Blade (www.heatpressnation.com/products/silhouette-cameo-kraft-blade-for-cameo-4) to cut materials that thick. If you purchased your Cameo Pro from HeatPressNation, please reach out to our MyExpert Support Team at support.heatpressnation.com or (800)215-0894 for assistance. They are available Monday - Friday, from 7:30am-3:00pm PT and will be happy to help. If you purchased your Silhouette machine from another retailer, we recommend you reach out to them or Silhouette America directly for technical support. Silhouette support can be reached at www.silhouetteamerica.com/contact.
@@HeatPressNation I am not the only one complaining about this issues. I know how rolls are supposed to be set. I'm sorry but the Cameo Pro cannot do the print and cut for thicker material as cameo 3 and 4 do. The media gets stuck under the carriage as soon as it starts reading the registration marks. Other than that, the huge mat slips at the leftmost end sides, even with the mat support . Trust me: it's a mess. And I am not the only one. Just gotten back to my cameo 4 !!
The software is quite fast for me. As long as your computer specs esp the ghz before boost are over the minimum it's fine. www.silhouetteamerica.com/faq/solution/software-minimum-system-requirements
