I missed this back in 1995 when it premiered on TV. As a longtime lover of the 1963 classic, I sort of dreaded looking at these clips on YT. You know how horrible these remakes usually are. But I have to say the scenes aren't as bad as I thought they'd be.
Same, but I ordered the DVD on Amazon. I try to watch movies like this on their own merit. As long as Hugo isn't black, (notice the token in this clip), I'm sure I'll enjoy the movie for what it is

As someone who compares any BBB performance, screen/stage/high school, to the original movie, this is to me the only performance in this movie that captures the sound and feel of the performance in the original movie, the others are crap!

Dick Van Dyke was being INCREDIBLY generous when he congratulted some of the cast of....this. Jumping up and down is not dancing.

Reasonably OK but the pace is a little slow. Not as much excitement as the original.
This almost beat the original which is amazing. And that's a classic. I'm kind of glad the scene that made the original good wasn't in this. Than it would've beat a classic. It's nice both are good
