I actually was a friend of Tom Petty and know exactly where his parents lived in Gainesville, FL Tom was the most modest person ever... He met you on your terms and downplayed just how great he was.
Tom Petty was my first boyfriend in music when I was 13 years old. I fell in love with him then cried a mountain of tears when he died . You will never understand how much this man meant to me
Great song. This comes off his kick ass album "Damn the Torpedoes". With hits like "Here Comes My Girl", :Shadow of a Doubt" ( personal favourite),and ;Even the Losers"... among others. A great artist,he had another album "Southern Accents" which is also excellent.
I'm in love! J/K, but I did see Tom Petty at Live Aid, 1985 Philadelphia. He played 3 songs- "American Girl," "The Waiting is The Hardest Part," and "Refugee." I loved that he had the entire stadium in his hand, his presence was so cool. He was starting his career and everything I had heard on the radio by that point I absolutely loved so when I saw him play these 3 songs, I was completely blown away man!! Everyone played so good, Benmont, Mike Campbell on keyboards and lead guitar were smoking hot too.
I was lucky enough (maybe not lucky) to see Tom's last concert at the Hollywood Bowl. I can say with certainty that he was at the top of his form. I was crushed when he passed.
Love him - he has that iconic voice. This one is probably my favorite of theirs, but if you haven't check out his and Stevie Knicks (of Fleetwood Mac) duet "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" and it's also fun to watch him with the legendary singers coming together to crate the Traveling Wilburys.
I'v always liked this song therefore i have always been a fan of Tom Petty, he has so many good ones, but this one goes back. I saw him play live once, Jeff Beck opened
Don't know if you've ever heard of for the group called driving and crying or not but they had a crazy hit with a song that's called Fly Me Courageous Drivin and Cryin Fly Me Courageous that's the song The group's driving and
Please check Stevie Nicks - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around with Tom Petty, it's incredible. I'm from '81 and unfortunately never got the chance to see him live either. Really sucks.
Love the late Tom Petty. the most underappreciated of rock stars. If you love your power cords. Check out 60's rock band The Who. Playing Summertime blues. The rock that never stops rolling.
Hello girl you looking so good high but the pretenders Chrissie Hynde singing I don't know if you remember that or not but they had a hit with show me show me by The Pretenders pretty baby
Good video! Although idk when I look at your facial expressions it seems like you been through a lot or are hurting but hope all is well thanks for the content much appreciated
@@NickieReacts Ibanez is the best guitar company imo....ever play their acoustic art wood series? They’re amazing and better than my 1500$ Gibson....and it was $3O0
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 I actually do have an acoustic electric Ibanez that was around $200 or $300. I don't play that one as often, but it sounds beautiful.
Your introduction was horrible and wasted a minute of my time -- most people won't finish the video. Get to the point. There are gazillions of videos on youtube -- don't waste people's time.
I got to see him perform a few months before he passed, and I'm eternally grateful for that.

It's always so refreshing to hear when musicians and other celebrities are like this!

0 times, and I’ll regret it forever.

This is his 2nd best song ever, Breakdown is his #1 in my book. You should check that one out, but his list of good songs is long. RIP Tom
I saw Tom on his first tour when he was the third act...Again in 88 when they played with Dylan....always loved his first album the best
Toms rabbit hole is very deep BUT I will go to my grave with "Damn the Torpedo's" as his best album
Arrowhead 1979!

I was lucky enough (maybe not lucky) to see Tom's last concert at the Hollywood Bowl. I can say with certainty that he was at the top of his form. I was crushed when he passed.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are the best American rock band of all time.

I think Im in love.....ur very pretty
Tom Petty the King of Cool
I took my daughter to see him in Dallas.
Somehow, somewhere someone must have kicked you around some. Unreal lyrics
*"Who knows, maybe you were kidnapped*
*Tied up, taken away, and held for ransom."*
Those lyrics always stood out to me too. Deep yet surface level
My guess being the very good musician that you are even at a young age the construction of the songs captured your attention.
Tom Petty and Stevie Ray Vaughan’s music as been proven to help cure dementia and those in a coma
So cool!
I can't believe i"ve never heard this". I can't believe it either girl lol. first time for everything i guess.

I appreciate your concern, but I promise I'm okay! Thanks for the kind words!
Nice playing btw, I play, what kind of guitar was that? Not an Ibanez?..
Thank you for the compliment! Actually, it is an Ibanez. I've had it for quite awhile.
