- Rush is a 2013 biographical sports film centred on the Hunt-Lauda rivalry between two Formula One drivers, the British James Hunt and the Austrian Niki Lauda during the 1976 Formula 1 motor-racing season.

Niki Lauda did the right choice to withdraw from the race. The conditions in that weather sure was suicidal. And James Hunt did a fantastic job coming third, taking the World Championship of 1976.
I would have done the same... And same as Niki, I won't regret it

I would have stayed out and not pushed to much. If Lauda had finished 10th he would have drawed level and he would have won if he finished 9th.

In reality, Hunt and Niki lover each other like brothers for a long time, however for the film, the drama was brilliant

mad respect for Niki. the fact that he got back to racing so quickly after the accident is extraordinary. the 4th at Monza was the best part.

@@elsden722 one of them "babies" crashed his car into a barrier at such a high speed with an incredible amount of force, causing the car to burst into flames, he then climbs out of the wreck and walks to his ambulance to let people know he's OK, and later this month he's going racing again five months later.

2:25 an underrated moment for me with Hint saying they need to cancel the race, showing just how much he’s changed from Germany where he really didn’t care as much. I know it’s probably just over exaggerated for The movie, but still a very poignant moment for me.

I can't believe how uderrated this movie is, compared on how popular it SHOULD be.
The adrenaline, the drama, the tension, the feels... all encompassed by one of (IMO) Hans Zimmer's most outstanding works
I remember when it came out in theaters, I watched it with my then girlfriend. During this whole last race sequence, we were clinging to each other's hands so hard, both at the edge of our seats unable to look away from the screen. When finally Hunt managed to win the championship, we actually cheered and jumped.

It’s important to remember that in real life, only 1 driver was willing to race that day (Jacky Ickx), and Lauda was one of 4 drivers, alongside Emerson Fittipaldi, Carlos Pace, and Larry Perkins, to retire perfectly healthy cars due to not being willing to take the risks involved.
That’s how bad the conditions were that day.
Hunt achieved a World Champion title, Niki achieved his own life with more Champion titles.
There is no loser between two rival.
They won their own life.
That's the spirit of racer.
The cinematography in the movie was amazing
His director of fotography is the same one who won the Oscar for "Slumdog Millionaire"

Nice that they included both TV and radio commentary from both Andrew Marriott and Simon Taylor (who is the main English F1 commentator in this film) who in fact commentated on this exact race back in 1976 on BBC Radio!

This movie is a beautiful piece of motor sports history, a little dramatized, but still a great piece of eye candy. Those CGI in this movie a perfect example of how CGI done right is not visible at all.

A sole reason I'm glad F1 transitioned to the Hybrid era. Racing under dangerous conditions isn't as difficult as before because of safety precautions and upgrades.

Not true at all. The current cars cause more spray and the hybrid power units have nothing to do with safety.

Masterpiece of all time,watched this movie several times,forgotten then numbers that how much time i have watched it.but i enjoy it every time.
The beginning of this race is one of the best scenes of all time. The tension, the emotion, no talk yet so much said, the color, slo-mo, god i cried there.🔥

Lauda wasnt a coward for retiring/quitting, The conditions of that race, like many others were horrendously bad. Ive seen the race footage of this race, it was absolutely madness. It wouldnt happen today. After what he endured it was perfectly acceptable what he did. Hats off to those drivers who stayed out and finished, though...
