You mention the Best Lists out there are just best sellers in terms of commissions. Tbh, they're not even that anymore, it's just blogspam SEO'd to death nonsense. Thank you for an actual list, and a great video compilation of modern devices based on performance.
Sadly I think you are closer to truth especially for searches in the UK. The second ranked page was just a paid advertorial for Molekule which makes no sense when people are searching for "best air purifier." I know Google is meant to be working on improving this in future but it needs to happen quicker. Thanks for the kind words about the video - very much appreciated.
@@JayJayYUP We seriously need RUclips to create a search result filter to exclude AI videos, the same way we can filter for video age, etc…. These AI review videos will devalue the platform if they don’t nip it in the bud.

Love the channel! Nice to see reviews that are not based on marketing nonsense. Still, I find it incredible hard to compare different air purifiers due to the different relevant factors. For instance, max CADR is important. However, a high CADR at 60+dba is useless in most home surroundings. It might be worth considering combining metrics, e.g. CADR/dba or CADR/W. Another interesting aspect I discovered recently is the possibility of using multiple filters in commercial air purifiers, similar to the corsi-rosenthal design. It seems to increase CADR vastly while keeping the dba at a low level. Obviously the filter cost / size increases. CADR/$€(Filter) or CADR/cm²(Filter) might be helpful in that regard. The German company Trotec sells a dual-filter device at 190€ which is supposed to deliver 384m³/h (226 CFM) to 740m³/h (435 CFM) CADR. Unlike most manufacturers they do disclose dba for every level separetely: Level 1 - 16.8 dB(A), Level 2 - 26.1 dB(A), Level 3 - 35.3 dB(A), Level 4 - 41.6 dB(A) at 1 m distance. Considering the intriguing CADR/dba ratio, I am interested in the unit. Haven't bought one yet due to the high filter cost (50€ per filter, 2 required - no 3rd party available). The unit is called Trotec Airgoclean 250E. A bigger one called 350E going up to 1000m/h at 55dba is available at 300€. Haven't tested the latter either. Maybe you can get hold of one of these units?
Thanks for the feedback and I am looking for ways to improve so will look at doing something with combined metrics like you propose. Is the Trotec model this one: uk.trotec.com/shop/design-air-cleaner-airgoclean-250-e.html Have to say its a breath of fresh air (sorry pun) to see a manufacturer be so open about performance and sound. It seems to be readily available here in the UK and the numbers look promising so will add to the list to look at after the next batch - thanks for making me aware of it!
Hi there. For a house with pet that has lots of fur. Which one would you recommend, Smartair Blast Mini or Levoit Everest? I am using Winix 360 but it's not enough especially for the odor control and fur management. Thank you ĺ☺️
Would depend on the size of your place. The Blast Mini and Levoit Everestair are good for large rooms but they also don't have tons of carbon for odors. A good odor device is the IQAir Healthpro plus as its has over 5lbs of carbon as well as effective particle removal.
Thanks for the video! As always, more information about the effectiveness at lower (sound) levels is always appreciated. Do you have a minutes-to-clean-your-test-room to CADR conversion?
Right now, I can benchmark results against other devices that have been tested by AHAM/EnergyStar. For example, the AirFanta 3Pro at 6.54v had a similar performance in our test to the Levoit Core 400S at full speed which has a dust CADR of 247 cfm, but this would be a rough estimate. I am working on a better way, having received some good advice from David Elfstrom, but I just need to get my head around it. Let me know if there is a device at a lower speed for which you need an estimated CADR, and I can try to provide it.
Have you tested putting activated carbon pellets with a mesh inside or outside a CR-Box? do you think it's worth it when I can't ventilate odors/gases?
I'm working on a guide to the best for UK at the moment should be out in a week or two. You are right though that the with the HVAC filter costs its hard to make a case for DIY for the UK. I have heard rumours that the Euro Nukit Tempest is going to be arrive before the end of the year that will use Ikea filters and PC fans. Right now, the best option is the AirFanta 3Pro as you get the power of PC fans but it uses OEM filters from AirFanta.
@@HouseFresh is it due to cost of MERV 13 filters? I've just learned about standards used in Europe ISO16890 ePM1 and older one EN779:2012 F7. Would DIY filters using them be cheaper?
Was hoping to start writing the script this week so might not be for a few weeks. Feel free to email me: danny@housefresh.com and I can share privately what I think at this point.
Good for Adam Wong and his AirFanta 3Pro making best budget large room purifier on your list.
Big fan of Adam and the AirFanta 3Pro - It is excellent to see lower cost devices that still have large CADR

I wish there was something that used home filters with a PC fan kit. Those are easy to get and affordable. Maybe I missed a review? Love the videos!
Best options would be the clean air stars luggable for the US market and northbox systems for Canada.
Have you tested putting activated carbon pellets with a mesh inside or outside a CR-Box? do you think it's worth it when I can't ventilate odors/gases?
Not tried but assume it would work but will reduce particle removal speed.
Wow, Smart Air Filters' air purifier is number one!
A great device for large spaces!
love to see it - chapters on the video please :)
Will do!
Are there any cheap UK DIY solutions? The ones I looked at seemed comparable to just buying a unit
