    Great video. Have the exact product in this video. What's your consensus on ionizers in general within air purfiers? Are they bad for health ? Would be great to see the video where you disable the ionizer and how you do it.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 13 часов назад

      Great idea for a video about this. I think modern use of ionizers don’t cause ozone as have seen lab reports for devices from Blueair. But some subscribers have said it irritates them so would avoid for those with any medical issues. Ionizers with particle filters do improve cleaning power a little. I personally prefer not to use as mechanical filtration is powerful enough with a high CADR devices so no need for any extras .

    I have learned a lot from you in this 2 months I discovered you. Now I have quite a few Air purifiers according to your recommendations ( I am the guy who lives in a high industry location and repainted house full of VOC). Now I have a Dyson TP09 that also has sensors ( seems accurate by the way). Also I bought 3 Winnix zero pro ( as u recommended me )2 Coway 150, 1 Levoit vital 200, 1 Coway 400 which I will receive tomorrow and also got a Morento air purifier cause it has double filters from the rear and the front ( have to test this yet if u interested I will give u a feedback. Now that I am done ( for now ) with air purifiers I am ongoing into the world of air monitors . Unfortunately I cannot get Airgradient in Spain. I bought for the moment 2 Awair Element second gen just to start with cause it was an offer in Amazon for 125€ each. Was a good choice or QP Pro second gen would be a more accurate product for just 30$ more? Thanks a lot Danny you are doing a great job helping us mate 👍 Pd,,, as I will need several devices do you also think Temtop M10 can be a good choice for me? I basically need PM2.5 ( from external factories) but also VOC and formaldehyde due to recent painting and poor quality flooring.,,, I have leaned from you that u cannot really have accurate VOC levels if not spending thousands of dollars which I don’t have. So, shall I return the 2 Awair element and get 2 GP Pro second gen?

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh День назад

      I would choose the QP Pro 2 as it would likely give you more information and due to the swappable sensor will last a lot longer. Have not tested the Temptop M10 but have heard good things from people on here. Be sure to let me know how you get on with the QP Pro 2. I also wanted to to add something about Morento. I haven't heard of it before but got an email this week that offered me 18% commission to sell air purifiers from this brand which is a lot higher than the 3% I get normally from Amazon which makes me a little suspect. If you did want a device that uses filters on each side, I would look at the Smart Air SA600 - housefresh.com/smart-air-sa600-review/ Glad you have found the channel useful, I got plans for lots more but these words really help to inspire me - so much appreciated :)

    Hello! Thank you again for such a great review. My 2 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Lukemia, I was wondering if the Levoit was good enough for a large space even though it doesn't have a hepa filter. Or do you have any other recommendations?

    • @HouseFresh

      Really sorry to hear abut your daughter. I wouldn't worry about it not being HEPA as we have seen that many non-HEPA grade filters can perform quicker at removing the smallest of particles from the air. @@HouseFresh I think the other poster is referring to Noctua, who do make good fans and were at one point probably the best CPU/PC Case cooling fans around. They are however not necessarily the best nowadays, with lower cost fans from the likes of Montech and others being better and cheaper, depending on the context. Better than Noctua fans at the moment for the purposes of air purification (and PC cooling) are likely the Phanteks T30-120mm fans. You can get a three pack for around $85 in the US. These are high airflow, low noise fans that are thicker than many comparable fans, which means that the fan blades are also thicker, which helps with increased air flow at lower noise levels. The LIAN LI UNI Fan P28's are also good, a little more noise and not quite as good, but comparable in performance and cheaper, at about $50 US for a triple fan pack.

    Just finished building mine. One thing I would suggest is the use of smart plugs to control the Tempest via app. You could have a mesh of Tempest nodes fully controlled via Wi-Fi on your phone.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 6 дней назад

      A good point and something I should have looked at more. Combined with smart sensors these devices could be much smarter than air purifiers with app support and you are also not locked into a specific tech stack. The benefit of these pc fan kits is that they can be controlled via smart plug whilst your standard hepa retail devices need to be switched on from the controls first. Another benefit is during energy black outs as these device will automatically come on vs standard hepa retail that need to switched on manually. Will look at more when I do another video about the tempest as I want to more tests using different fan brands and filters. Hope you’re enjoying your Nukit Tempest!

    We have a Pro and a Mini+. They clean the air, but we are now looking at expanding air purification to some other places so I started digging into how well they were working for the price. They are loud but only when the sensor senses lots of pollutants. Like when we burn a candle in the same room or something. We currently run the small one in the bathroom and I don't think it does a good job of improving the smell. In fact, the tabletop Germ Guardian I got for around $45 did a better job. (We moved that to the laundry room.) We used the Pro, where we previously had a Blueair 211, which again I think did a better job. But we moved the Blueair to our bedroom so whatever. I do like the sensor which will ramp it up when needed but I am always skeptical it's not doing enough when it's on the lower modes. Seems like my skepticism was right.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 6 дней назад

      I still don’t know why they let it get so loud on the top speed as it gets painful. sorry my testing backed up your skepticism. I do want to test the larger Pro but after testing both minis I don’t have much hope it will be good value. Is the Pro as loud as the Mini+?

    Hi what purifier do you recommend for cigar smoking indoors in 100sqft room? I was looking at Winix 5500-2 and/or Leviot core 600s. Thanks for your input in advance.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 7 дней назад

      Out of the two I would pick the core 600s as it has a much higher CADR but it’s unlikely to be enough for cigar smoke indoors. for this use case you might need investing in a device that uses electrostatic filters and have very high cadr and are classed they smoke eaters but they are not cheap staring at $1.6k. The consumer device that offers a similar function would be something like the Bluair classic range like the 605 but if you want to be able to keep a room clean when smoking indoors you will have to likely have to get one of the high cost specialist units. I haven’t tested any of these so can’t offer specifics but hope that is helpful.

    Hear me out gamers, what if instead of clear Windows on our cases, we just throw on furnace filters.

    When will test Winix Zero Pro

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 7 дней назад

      I have tested the Winix Zero Se (its the special version sold in Costco.co.uk) and it did really well in our tests. I am hoping to get this review live in September but it's a very good unit especially for those in the UK who can't access the Winix 5500-2. Will look at getting the Zero pro but I also expect it's good but with extra CADR.

      Interesting, I did read that the Winix sensors detect VOC vs particle but need to do more tests and investigate more to see if that is the case.

    The review actually did pop up on google for me. Liked, subscribed and will buy coffee. Also I need this chap to read bedtime stories! I’m in the USA grew up in UK. So who had this accent on Jackanory or Blue Peter back in the 70s? Very comforting! Love this review!

      I am glad you found this review on Google. Funnily enough our website has actually started to show some signs of life as of Friday evening, so I am patiently hoping that we will get more visibility from Google users for our air purifiers reviews published on HouseFresh.com Your comment made my day - I had to dig into the old BBC archives and have a listen, maybe it was Peter Purves? - he was from Preston which is less than hour away from me so has a similar northern accent. A fun video I found with him featured: ruclips.net/video/ZMcChLsGKWc/видео.html let me know if its the right one :) Thank you for the coffee and hope you keep finding the channel useful and enjoyable and glad to have you as a subscriber. 🙏

    i bought a mistake mini core with csf 35 for a small master bedroom and regret it. It do little to almost nothing! Dont understand why it was best selling on Amazon and when it is only good in a tiny bathroom.. thanks for all the great review videos!

      Don’t worry Amazon pushes it hard and as most people prefer a small device it outsells everything else. Levoit should be more honest about it downsides rather than just chase short term profits!

      I'm not at home at the moment as I would weigh the device, but according to the Amazon listing, it's 5 lbs (2.2 kg). I will be sure to weigh without the packaging when I get back home and including this information when we publish the web version on HouseFresh.com

    Would be great to see a comparison between the Everest and the blueair healthprotect as I’m caught between these two. Many thanks

      This is a great idea, and we will make sure we make this comparison when we review the Blueair Healthprotect. I do have an issue with Blueair's HEPAsilent technology as it uses an ionizer that you can't disable, but this might not be a feature in the latest models, so I will need to check. Which Blueair healthprotect model were you comparing it with?

    Hello! I just really wanted to say thank you for your dedication and commitment to creating these videos... ! They're really educational and needed in a space that should be relatively simple, is so convoluted and difficult to navigate... I love your studio with all of the air purifiers! The little air purifying units on display in the background especially caught my eye, as I've been personally interested in those really compact & travel-friendly units for the past couple months and invested a lot of time to research, and also a decent sum of money into them. I started off with the LG Puricare Mini, but I thought I could do better going the DIY route on sound and performance with Noctua. Maybe I succeeded, but I can't be sure as I don't have anything to measure with besides the particulate sensor on the little LG unit. And I don't really think these compact units can do very well as I think I read that filter surface area, as well as the overall size of the unit so that there's some distance between it and the fan, really matters. This is where you have really shed a lot of light on the topic!! Can't wait for your full review on the AirFanta 4Lite! I'm really sensitive to sound in the bedroom, so I do end up turning my air purifiers down until they are barely audible. My larger unit is a Dyson Pure Cool Me, but I only have it at 2/10 usually, and I'm pretty sure that is not keeping up with pollutants that constantly reintroduced. I would also really like to hear your research and thoughts about air projection as well, seeing as you have the Dyson machines yourself! I feel like Dyson may be a leader in this category and specifically designed their POLAR test to do well here, but I'm not really sure... maybe the air projection only helps the air quality levels reach equilibrium more quickly, but doesn't have the CADR to effectively clean the room to a healthier level. I can't believe you still paid for Nukit Kit and everything with your own funds even though you were offered for free...! Most creators would just take it?! And I think I can really feel how much you believe in what you're doing!! Thanks to you I discovered this DIY kit and after weighing all the options (again, thanks to your videos), I have bought two! I also like the aesthetics, modularity, and potential to use standard HVAC filters... I plan to try using Noctua IPPC fans with controllers to control the fan speed. No idea how it would compare with the recommended Arctic, but maybe I will try building the 2nd to see! Unfortunately I am not sure if manufacturers will necessarily need to or be inclined to follow suit in the next years, or if this will ever catch on given air quality and stuff invisible and the upkeep on filters and electricity and I guess just having to tolerate the noise too... But with your videos and more and more people spreading the word we can all make better more informed decisions for ourselves!! Sorry for the super long comment! I just ended up binge-watching your videos for the past 10 hours... xD Thank you for all of your hard work on these resources! I wish there was some way to support you more!! Cheers!

      Thank you for your awesome comment! The longer, the better, in my view :) I think you are right about the small devices, as the size and fan power just can't compare with larger devices. One of the reasons I try to push people to go bigger if they can - but I also totally understand that this can't work for everyone. To date, the Airfanta 3 pro has been the most impressive for performance to portable ratio, and it also breaks down easily for putting in a backpack/luggage. As you know, we have a few Dyson devices. It's true that performance at lower speeds isn't that great, especially when compared to the PC fan kits. However, the Dyson devices are unique in that they offer fan functionality and do look good! I have been impressed at the performance increases with different generations, so I am hoping Dyson continues to invest and improve with each new model. One of our plans for the site/channel is to give people more opportunities to support us and also get unique benefits. We still have to implement this, but we hope to have something ready by the end of the year! Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. I am on a family vacation this week and next. However, know that your comment made my day, and I hope you stick around for more videos in the future. Thanks again:)

    Why there is 6 fans? Why not 9? More 3 from back site will help for more airflow.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 9 дней назад

      I'm not sure on the decision why Nukit decided to go with 6, but I assume it's just to keep the size not much bigger than a standard PC case. Cleanairkits makes its own PC fan kits, and you can choose from 5, 7, 9 or 10 fans, depending on your needs. I tested the Clean Air Kits XL that uses 7 fans and it was quicker at cleaning our test room but also is quite a bit larger and a little more difficult to move around due to the shape.

    Is there anything wrong with using merv 14 1 inch filtrete filters? These are so much smaller. I'm wondering what the drawbacks would be to justify a much larger filter.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 9 дней назад

      I believe that the filtrate filters from 3M don’t fit the size of the Nukit tempest but if not it would be a great option.

      @HouseFresh I am hoping a 1 inch variant is devised (if) this thinner filter is just as capable.

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 9 дней назад

      I did test with 1 inch filters that I had and performance was similar to the filterbuy 2 inch filters. I have some 2 inch filters from a better filter brand that I am hoping to see will have improved performance over the filterbuy brand ,

    • @HouseFresh
      @HouseFresh 9 дней назад

      the only downside with the 1 inch is that it doesn't look at finished as there is a gap between the filter and the case.
