I would LOVE that! Then it starts a quest chain where you can either try to seek a cure for yourself and maybe astarion as well if he wants it. Or choose to accept it and embrace your nature. ❤
@@Xxsorafan nah, as he says in the video, only true vampires can turn others by not just drinking from them but letting them drink from themselves too and since the only problem is his master controlling him, I could see the party going for a trip to take his masters blood by force ;)
I'm curious how he feels about birds. He mentions that he'll hunt deer, boar, even kobalds. Later he eats a bear and he tells us he doesn't like fish. So we know that he will bite reptilians but we're not so certain about avians. I will be interested to find out if he will die on fowl. 👀
Do you know how much blood is in a bird? Like, its barely a snack. They probably taste somewhere in between mammals and reptiles right? I hear some reptiles are kind of chicken like in texture and flavour, but avians are warm blooded. So who knows
the part that he kill you after sucking your blood, is that you just became his fist person to suck blood on, and for a fist timer he cannot control himself and that abissal hunger that he had, you need to try to stop him in the second time that he's sucking you off... >:3 if you manage to do that he will be satisfied and you don't die, if you want to me a little passive agressive, you can make he only drink your blood.
Astarion: You can trust me. Also Astarion: *kills you if don't stop him when he's drinking your blood* I just can't with Astarion. I mean, he's cute. But a man who can't control himself in my personal space? I'm happy I usually piss him off enough he's not interested anyway.
The thing about him not having control is that he's never bitten a person before, and the rush of it is something that he doesn't know how to deal with. When all you've been getting are putrid rats and flies for 200 years, biting into the neck of a person and feeling the rush of blood that has so much more energy in it than it's like snorting cocaine for the first time, you're not going to know what to do with that amount of energy either. And he does apologize if he does kill you, and when he says it won't happen again it doesn't. He is a man of his word. And I get where you're coming from, but for him it's a slow build of trust for both sides and yeah he might mess up at the beginning but he does make up for it as time goes on.
I think your comment shows perfectly how different people react to the characters from Baldurs Gate. (No judgment here) I see him as someone who’s „starving“ for at least 200 years. What he really is is probably up to us. And how we treat them
Well, he's the kind of guy to try his luck and ask even after he gave you a scare. Bold of him, to be sure. It's more than implied you are making a mistake if you agree to it, apart from his "you were my first" moment. You are a tool for him if you are so willing to a accomodate him, he is notably cocky in the morning if you give him your blood. That said, his actions are actually pretty predictable.
@@svoba4af For sure! In the beginning he's definitely manipulating you and trying to see how far he can go, what he wants and needs at this point is protection and if he can get that from you then that's satisfying enough. Anything that happens afterwards though will be both characters earning each other's trust, and over time he slowly starts to show his vulnerabilities to your character as a result. After being isolated for two centuries and living in constant fear he really does want to make a connection.
@@MizuMing Yeah, it is a rocky start with him and it's interesting to see how people are offended he treats their character like a stranger in ruthless world at the start. BTW I was surprised he actually means it that this won't happen again :D His self-control is pretty good, actually, the result of Cazador's teaching again.
The sad thing is... Based on everybody gameplay so far, Astarion is not that powerful or needed. He's really in it just for the plot. He needed Tav more than Tav needed Astarion. Heck, you could've just killed him easily in your first meeting. And that was just about it.
He is useful as a rogue and contributes a lot of interesting plot. But sure, mechanically optional, but that goes for most of the companions. He happens to be my favorite (charm, very easy on the eye, obviously non-good alignment, so no alignment conflict with my PC). Some less obvious reasons too.
@@radiantblog From what I've heard, people either adore it or absolutely hate it. It has way too many side quests, so it may not be your cup of tea, but I personally enjoyed it.

Astarion: drinks you basically to death
Also him: Oh no what happened
Your profile pic suits the scene so perfectly 😂
REALLY hoping that this can kick off a chain of events in acts 2/3 when the game is released in full where the player can become a vampire themselves.

@@radiantblog Maybe. He does refer to the Owlbear as a 'little snack'. Still, I'd like to hear about it from his own lips. 👍
