ESE yes she’s always talking about generosity on the view (that’s how I came to know of her). Her views are pretty consistent. She’s pro immigration and always says the poem on the Statue of Liberty, she’s always there for minorities, she’s done many humanitarian things. She can make me eye roll sometimes with her air headedness that seems to be fake, but I love her ❤️
Kinda funny because I, too, chose NOT to let my childhood circumstances define who I would later become in life. I did not know where I would be but I knew that I would NOT allow myself to live the life for which I was born and raised in. I knew there was something much better ahead for me; and thankfully, my life is NOT what the "system" had in store waiting for me.
Sometimes I feel like a lost cause. I'm coming from a poor city full of fun violence and gangs but I don't act like the people in my city. I keep to myself and just go on about my business. I am going to school for film directing but sometimes I question where am I going to be in the future. All I know is I'm not going to turn to drugs, gangs, and violence. That's a for sure thing. But sometimes I wonder if I'm going to succeed or if I'm going to fail. I don't want to but sometimes I feel like I am. Sometimes I feel like I don't know what to do and that's going to lead me to a life I don't want to live and a disaster. I'm just worried about my future. Life is so rough 😭
Love this ted talk. So inspiring and unique model for life. I love how articulate sunny hostin is. Finding day 3 is hard as it is, thanks for this motivation and empowering.
I’ve been holding off watching this video and I love her so this didn’t make sense (also, I clicked this video a few times and it wouldn’t load lol!!) but watching this today (as I graduate undergrad in a few days and was just worrying about what on earth I am doing) was the reason why I didn’t watch it before.. my ears needed to be where they are right now
I love this video and so Sunny Hostin, I completely understand what she is telling us , I've passed my day 1 and still navigate in midst of the day 2 , but thx God I passed day 1 cuz when u do that, I'm telling u , u will never be the same, or wishing to come back !!!
Sunny is not going to apologize. She has stated many times that she teaches her kids to stand firm in what they believe. She will stand firm in her statement.
I’ve always loved sunny and her day 2 advice is worth diamonds 💎. I’ve been feeling stuck since I became aware of responsibilities and struggles. When you come from a rough and poor background people and you place so much faith in your success that it becomes overwhelming so it’s hard to find what you love and to follow your passion when any mistake feels like the end. I’m going to remember her advice and try to focus on day 2 until I can recognize day 3 which I think comes from experience
Love that, "my purpose is giving voice to other people, speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves, ensuring justice for those being crushed." I hope a lot more people have that as their purpose.
Awsome !!! Awsome!!! Very inspiring What I take from her message is your born you go through ups and down learn from it and be the best version of yourself and doors will open and you will find happiness.😉
By being given an open platform on the View, she has demonstrated her intolerance and her own bigotry. I am sad that TED has given this woman a platform.
If she were a man and had the same attitude and said the same things you never would have said that. I'm not a feminist at all. Im just saying, I didn't see a massive ego at all here.
That's not necessarily true. We're all different. I remember being younger than 6 and realizing that my family was poor and deciding that I definitely was not going to be poor too.
I come from the Philippines and lived in the slums when I was 4-6 years old. In the Philippines, living in the slums mean not having enough food, houses prone to flooding, people are prone to relocation, while some people decide to go back because they just don't have anywhere else to live. I tell you, life teaches you things even at a very young age. Life teaches you difficult things even if you are not ready for it. And those lessons shaped my views and principles in the succeeding years, and until now.
She’s not a journalist. . .and I don’t think she’s ever played air hockey. . .on the plus side, my daughter is surprisingly attractive. . . But I couldn’t make it past 7:00 . . .
she's an amazing speaker. Powerful without forcing it
NOW I KNOW WHY I LOVE HER.

Don't always agree with her politics but I do have great respect for her. And, she's class.

After watching this, I definitely understand how she became so self-righteous.
Sunny is not going to apologize. She has stated many times that she teaches her kids to stand firm in what they believe. She will stand firm in her statement.

Mark Twain screwed up ??? I think that could have been put a little better.
Sunny is a race baiter
She’s hard to listen to, I can’t relate and I loath the view.
This is nonsense, no other way to put it
This woman has a massive ego.
+Flike as she should
If she were a man and had the same attitude and said the same things you never would have said that. I'm not a feminist at all. Im just saying, I didn't see a massive ego at all here.
I didn't see that at all. and what's wrong with that? she's earned it.
Flike this is what a smart beautiful black woman looks like. Your comment offers no insight.
She should n well deserved
I highly doubt that she had the capacity to think that deeply at the age of six.
That's not necessarily true. We're all different. I remember being younger than 6 and realizing that my family was poor and deciding that I definitely was not going to be poor too.

magicsinglez she’s got a journalism degree, and works in television journalism and has for a very long time.
yikes. now I no why I really don't like her
Good. Then you can sew your mouth shut for belittling others.
