- In this talk, Brunson discusses her role and experience in the entertainment industry as well as the way in which advertisements influence the way we perceive ourselves. She challenges us to view our world with a critical eye because the “new and honest perspectives are what build the future.”
Quinta Brunson is a video producer and Development Partner at Buzzfeed Motion Pictures. The Philadelphia native joined Buzzfeed in early 2015 and within a year, she was the first BFMP producer to be signed uner contract to write, direct, star, and produce her own projects within the media company’s studio division. Quinta recently wrapped shooting on her own series “Broke,” a show shw wrote and starred in about three friends who move to Los Angeles with big dreams and empty wallets. Prior to joining Buzzfeed, Quinta released her first viral project in 2014 with “The Girl Who’s Never Been on a Nice Date.” The series went viral on both RUclips and Instagram and was one of the first of its kind to gain a huge, viral fan base across social platforms. Quinta is a Second City Chicago alum and currently lives in Los Angeles.

That's so cool, I didn't realize that! Her shorts with Justin on Buzzfeed were always my favs so it makes sense she still has a working relationship with him on Abbott, that show is awesome!

Thanks, I came here after watched the abbot elementary schools, and I love the stories. I found this TEDx and hooked by the idea. Like our self and confident with our perspective that she said is trully important. 7 years till now, we still strugling with the beauty-image, but yeah somehow the world move to the good side and more appreciate the values.

When I watched Abbott Elementary, I thought Quinta was funny. Watching this, I realize she is so much more. Absolutely phenomenal. I await her appearances at women's conferences as the main speaker. She should be reaching more. I believe she will. Keep your eye on her.

Regularly revisited this while in uni - from presenting in front of my class to meeting people, Quinta's Ted Talk really taught me so much about authenticity. Looking back, I never realised how I needed to hear her perspective and how impactful she is. Can't wait to see more of her vision come to life.
Kinda great how most of the responses to this are positive. Makes you remember that deep down we all really just want to be seen, heard, and valued. Also a supportive argument in favor of the idea that every single word and action you commit echoes forever, whether you want it to or not.

Positive affirmations. I liked the show, In Living Color. I didn’t like myself when I was fifteen because kids told me that I was smart. This kid called me a fuc* up behind my back. I am white, tall, but extremely fair like an Irish descent person. I like myself now, even though I am disabled and people wish Ty I didn’t like myself and that’s sad.
