I watched at my grandma's house too. They've all passed as have my parents and even--far too young--a number of my beloved friends. I cherish my memories and I'm sure you do also. Thank you for posting your beautiful comment. I hope you'll get to see my reply. May God shower you with a cornucopia of blessings.
Thank You So Much For Posting This Episode. I enjoyed seeing it very much. My DVD kept freezing making it difficult to watch, so I was very happy to see that you posted it here. Growing Up, THE PATTY DUKE SHOW was my very favorite television show. Thank You Again. Sincerely, Jay
Patty played a young girl in high school; dating, fighting with her brother, buying the latest records, getting in trouble, hanging out with her high school friends…. But she was really 19 years old! She actually got married the year of her show’s second season!
What ended the show was Lost In Space. That was opposite this on CBS. Then, the next year, Batman went up against Lost in Space. It damaged the ratings but Lost held out. Batman was on twice a week. It’s other showing was up against the Munsters. It hurt their rating and the Munsters were not renewed! Then, Batman was on opposite the Monkees on NBC. The Monkees ratings were never that big. But it did hurt Batman! The Monkees could have gone another season but the band decided to end the show after only two seasons and only about 50 shows! Peter quit and the Monkees fame ended abruptly! Lost in Space was a huge hit but it was canceled in 1968. So was Batman. NBC offered to buy the show but when they were told that the big expensive bat cave set had been mostly torn they decided not to pursue it. So even though they were huge hits, you only have two seasons of Patty, the Munsters and the Monkees . And three of Lost in Space! In reruns they have high ratings and are on to this day! Gilligan’s Island, a huge hit, was canceled after three season only because CBS couldn’t fit it in their schedule! It too reruns to this day!
It seems like all the boys from that time wore glasses. I was under five years old when this was on so I have no memories of the fifties shows. But what I seen of the reruns it was more like what adults thought of the ways kids acted and not based in reality at all.
I think she wore a wig all the time. Wearing a wig back in the sixties on a tv show was in, Lots of tv and movie stars wore wigs back then instead of showing their own hair. Hairpieces where use a lot back then to give the women actress volume but also to protect their own hair from being perm process on all the time.
@@tajeproductions8907 - Though Patty wore wigs for a quick change to Cathy or Patty, she had naturally thick, beautiful hair. Just look at her pics into her 40s....
I caught that right away too, it's so blatant, I mean they could have come up with so many other lines for the song, that would have maintained a sweet and innocent tone, like "..whose favorite snack's a jelly roll..."for instance

In havent seen this show for over 55 years yet I still remember the theme song!
Thank you for bringing this show to RUclips. It helps to keep them alive .
WOW!! Patti said how THEY were fickle.... OKAY
Well, at least there was ONE episode so far when Pattie was unselfish!
I was a young teen when this was on prime time. I watched it every week and never questioned the concept of “identical cousins.”
😄

What became of Cathy?
@@maxalberts2003 The show went off the air (of course). Patty Duke died of sepsis in 2016 at age 69.
I love Ross offering his arm to Patty at the end. How cute!
3RCPro-life-semper1 M Thanks for spoiling the episode for those that haven’t seen it.
. 😐 so . . . did you saw it ?
For only two seasons they shot 72 shows! Amazing!
3 seasons and 104 episodes altogether
Such a great show.

Mine too!!! Thanks for posting. May God bless you!
I wonder how Sean and Mckenzie feel when theft see these old episodes of their mom? May Anna Marie rest in peace
Brings back memories😊

*WOWZERS!* 👀
She is beautiful girl
Yes. She was remarkably beautiful. May she rest in peace. If there's an afterlife, I'll bet she's Heaven's top entertainer.

What ended this show, in reality, were the conversion costs from black and white to color.
Such a wholesome era of tv
I like when Richard reaches up to help Patty get what she's reaching high for in her locker. That was kind of him. :)
That's what tall people are for. Reaching up and fetching things for us normally-sized people!

Did they switch to wigs this season? Her (their) hair is completely different.

Why did the men all stand up when Nat stood up?
It was considered good manners for a man to stand when a lady rose from sitting.

Jeff is more Patty's age than Richard.
So women want strong men who will dominate them? That had me on the floor laughing.
A hot dog makes her lose control... Pretty risqué for the 60’s
