The ancient bloodstained barflands of Nemetocena. Warriors from all across the world gather here to witness Ares and Wotan themselves micro their cavalry away from precursor javelins.
Victory for the Land of the Bow! Also, Heir pretty sure those Kushite archers have stalk and snipe, so Parthia might not have been able to see them the whole time making it hard for the foot archers to return fire. Then again it is hard to see the little eye markers showing hidden on Sol's units with the chaos of a battle, so I don't know if it really played a role.
I really enjoy the pacing of Rome 2. I think it's hard to quantify exactly but the timing between skirmishing, damage, routing, etc just feels right to me. It isn't over too fast but it also doesn't feel grindy.
Yeah Parthia as such a skirmish-heavy faction definitely need to get value out of their skirmishers (and shock cav), but for a Barbarian faction which is at a clear missile disadvantage is it not best to rush?? The Iceni battle vs Carthage from the other day is the one I have in mind. In that instance I was one of those wondering why Iceni would take such unfavourable skirmish engagements as losing out early just has a negative compounding effect. The image of a Chosen Sword being wrecked and shattered at the beginning while it stood idle is burnt into my memory :(
the parthian army has one huge mistake, it has no melee cover for the cataphract. My usual pick would have at least 2 median cav as emergency backup for the cataphracts.
I am surprised at the beginning of the battle that the parthians did not try to get a charge on some of those kush archers. Still a great battle from both players!
This reminds me that Parthia had a terribly OP build that had about 4-6 skirmisher units and the rest Calvary and elephants as Parthia. I used it extensively and beat pike lines, Hoplite armies, steppe hordes, and even Rome and the barbarians. I have so many old replays of victories buried somewhere im going to have to dig it up and recreate it.
Parthia had no chance of winning this battle: 1 - Army composition was way off. 2 - No strategy for exhaustion. 3 - Hurried engagements. Salutes from Brazil from a Parthian player! 🇧🇷🔰🇧🇷
I have a question, am I the only one who has troubles with units in skirmish mode? They should avoid combat as much as possible (and you can definitely tell that they do when the AI has a light unit in that mode, it will always escape at the very last second, leaving your chasing unit exhausted and decimated). It happens to me many times that my horse archers just bug and don't escape ridiculously slow infantry charges. I mean, I understand that they can get a volley of precursor javelin if your not careful enough, but you can't get tackled by spearmen (or heavier/slower cavalry) while I'm not watching if you are in skirmish mode. Do anyone know how to fix this?

These fields have become the halls of vallhala or elysium
Never gets old listening to you commentate MP battles.

@1:56 bro, now THAT is nostalgia. The old cataphract mace attack! Ah, Rome 1...the simpler times. Sweet cast Heir 😃👍

I have a bad experience with Kush in this game, every time I smoke I end up getting distracted and hungry.
Parthia completely threw that game with the horse archers doing nothing after depleting their ammo. Could have charged them against the kush archers.
Been really enjoying the Rome 2 content lately. Happy holidays Heir

Love the rome 2 content!
Did you have a good time off with the family?
Why dont you never play DEI? It is so much better than vanilla, both for online battles and campaigns..
rarely anyone play pvp with DEI and I mean it.
@@TheBikeOnTheMoon PVP?
I'm playing a campaign with parthia and parthian swords are pretty much thorax swords but worse
Lol, like whoever plays Kush
Sick vid
kush and carthage were always my 2 favorite factions because not only are they african but they are africans with strong militaries i love it
The history of Kush is really interesting, they were allied with Eastern Rome at one point.
@@TR-ru7wl they were also their enemies at 1 point and at another they ruled egypt
Nice
I'm sorry but dont take Parthia if you dont know what your are doing. Lopsided battle
Hey Heir, if I have a particularly epic battle with the ai, how would I submit that replay to you? if possible.
cool
