This song is a metaphor for getting downgraded from being someone significant to a person (having a name) to being someone unimportant (just a number).
This song is from the album Love Yourself: Tear and the album was written and recorded in a time where the members were questioning whether they made the right choices and were also honestly expressing shifts in their relationships and dynamics (Suga recently told the story in a Vlive) so this song is really opened to interpretation: could be a metaphor for a romantic relationship, for a friendship or even for a fan-artist relationship.
As always, with BTS, nothing is as simple as it seems.

Ok you figure out Pluto. RM feels strongly about everything he does. When he isn’t writing songs dancing or singing he is reading. This is why BTS are not the artist of 14 yos like the media likes to say. Rm is deep, much of his stuff goes over the kids heads of the kids. He loves word play. For example, old town road he did with little nas x. In his verse he wrote you’ll get your money with my homey in your back yard. Here in the hip hop world a homey is your friend in Korea it’s a garden trowel. Rm IQ is 148 he is a genus he is in the top 0.1% of the world. If that’s not enough he tested 900 in English for international communication and the boy taught himself English while watching friends.

@@naddaditv3287 So basically Pluto was the 9th planet of our solar system. But due to its small size and a huge revolution course around the sun, it was exempted from our solar system and given the number 134340. Now even if it's not considered as a planet it is still revolving around the sun. So in the song BTS is personifying themselves as Pluto (like they have done with a previous song of theirs - Whalien 52). So consider the person they are talking to is the Sun, then the lyrics will make more sense.
Like in RMs verse it says you(sun) might not love me anymore but I still orbit around you (talking about a failed relationship and the members still lingering in that past relationship).
Then he talks about "you" liking Eris more (which btw is another dwarf planet slightly bigger than Pluto). So basically talking about the "you" finding someone better than the members and moving on while they are still stuck in the past.
Read the lyrics properly and you will understand the song much better. Rap line really showed that they could literally personify any entity and make it into a song talking about their feelings. I hope I helped in making you understand this song a little bit.

Lol :D One of my fave BTS songs for sure - I love the whole vibe, esp the jazzy flute - I think it's a Tae kind of song!

Yes i love hearing taehyungs voice singing this live because of the thickness in his voice it sounds so good when he does it and honestly sound better live then in the recorded version. I like their voices better live in general though. 💜

A lot of the stuff going on in this song is symbolic. The “far” vocals represent how far Pluto is. These guys are true artists.

134340 is the number given to pluto by NASA I guess after it was demoted from the status of the planet. It's actually pretty smart. BTS never chooses a bizarre song name. Every song name has a deep meaning. This song is from pluto's perspective.

Suga’s normal speaking voice has that vocal fry. He just usually talks like that😂 And if you look at the lyrics he’s “talking to someone” so he is using his normal speech to rap, hence you hear the vocal fry

since training days, BTS' attitude in everything they do especially in their performance have been more than professional... it's their passion and sincerity that gives them the drive and determination to practice with more time than resting and sleeping to be able to give the perfection they want to present to thwir ARMYs that's why everything now becomes effortless to them when performing! for me, no one could sing their songs perfectly than themselves! despite having the voices of an angel of the vocal line... V has the deepest most soulful voice in KPop, Jungkook has the most soothing voice, Jimin has the most impactful voice while Jin has the most powerful voice hitting those high notes! BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!

RM actually have a whole mixtape called Mono with all chill alternative laid back rap and it's so good
Suga used a lot of numbers for his first mixtape (small trivia). This album was released during 2018, when they had it hard (the start of it specifically), doubting if they should disband (i guess because of all the pressure and different life style that came fastly with their fame, which is talked about it in "Interlude: Shadow" or even "Sea") but after thinking a lot, they ended up signing another 7 years contract with the same company and came back stronger: 3 albums during a year time, and 2 more.
Now we have On, Louder Than Bombs and We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal where they talk about not being afraid of the pain anymore
