    If you haven't realized yet, Luffy has a natural instinct when it comes to choosing his friends/crewmates, he sees the good in them.

    That moment at the end hit like 10x harder in the anime and yet they still managed to make it really good. There's a lot more going on here at this point in the anime, there's more depth to it and things make more sense. Really happy with what they managed to pull off tho 💪💪
    Loving your reactions! Sad there's only one more episode. Thankfully it's a good one :D

    I love that you are able to see that there's something deeper with Nami even before seeing her flashback. Most of the reactions I've watched (with only one or two exceptions) seem to take her at face value.
    Coco Village (or Cocoyashi Village in the manga and anime) is where Nami is from. The name of the village was shown in the first flashback, but I guess you overlooked it or just forgot by the time Arlong told Nami to go collect the tribute there.
    Nami's sister's name is Nojiko. I had trouble remembering it at first too, so don't feel bad.
    No, Luffy wasn't scared at all when Nojiko burst out with the rifle in his face. Remember that bullets bounce off of him.
    I don't recall if the Shark Attack was shown in the earlier scenes of Arlong Park, but there is a reason that the place is set up like an amusement park. I won't go into details so as to avoid spoilers, but it involves something from when he was young.
    Captain Nezumi is either mouse or rat themed. His name is a Japanese word that could be translated as either one. I tend to think of him mostly as a rat, but I guess he could be considered a weak little mouse compared to all of the powerful characters around him in this arc.
    Between reading the manga, watching the anime, watching the live action, and watching reactions, I've probably seen Belle-mere's death at least 100 times, and I still cry every time. Own those tears!
    We do end up learning about one of Luffy's parents in the series, but we haven't heard anything about the other (at least not yet by chapter 1097 of the manga). I could, of course, tell you which one we meet and how long it we be, but where's the fun in that? Better to let you wonder!
    I think Nami said Belle-mere's name during the earlier flashback's, but I'm not 100% sure of that. But yes, that is Delle-mere's grave where Nami dug up her hidden treasures.
    Nami's "Help me" scene is another one that makes me cry every time. This series has a lot of scenes that always bring me to tears. I have to say that the aesthetics of the "Help me" scene came straight from the manga, from the dialogue and camera angles, right down to the positions of all five characters. Even the split screen as Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp simultaneously shouted "RIGHT" when Luffy told them "Let's go!" reflects the panel positions from the manga. That scene was masterfully adapted. The only difference from the manga is that, in the manga, Nami's hand was bandaged because of something that happened earlier which was left out of the live action version. That scene is the one where most One Piece fans realized they had fallen in love with the series.
    I THINK the first flashback said it was "Coco Village, 8 years ago," but I'm not 100% on that either, though I am sure about how long ago it happened. What I do know is that Nami is supposed to be 18 at the beginning of the series, meaning she was ten when Belle-mere was murdered and she joined the Arlong Pirates.
    Yes, Arlong Park is located right near Cocoyashi Village.
    I think it was mentioned on here once or twice, but the manga made a big point of really driving home that Arlong doesn't lie about money matters, so when he said that he promised that Nami could buy back Cocoyashi Village for 100,000,000 berries, Nami had no reason to doubt him (in fact, any time she asked to make sure he still meant to follow through, he got offended at the lack of trust).
    Well, I still love seeing your authentic emotions as you go through this. I'm still really hoping that you'll go on to react to the anime next. Most reactors will react to anywhere from two to five episodes per video, but if you decide to react to them individually, at about 22 minutes for each one, it might be easier for you to find the time to do it more often . . . if you'd even want to. Honestly, there's enough of One Piece that you could specifically make this a One Piece reaction channel. When you catch up, You could go on to do fan theories and all that other stuff that most other One Piece RUclipsrs do. Or you could start a separate One Piece channel; I would definitely subscribe! The only thing they have that you don't is knowledge of the next thousand or so chapters of the manga, and you have something that most of them don't have: you're beautiful and you're fun to watch! Anyways, I can't wait to see you react to the season finale and to see what you'll do after that! Can't wait!

    Garp is Luffy's paternal grandfather. His full name is Monkey D. Garp. The family name is Monkey. As for Luffy's parents, we still don't have the details on Luffy's mom, and it is likely to be a very large plot point near the end of the story. As for Luffy's father, well, we do know about him, and that is spoiler territory.

    Nami was technically enslaved by Arlong for 8 years. The show skipped the gory details, but the money was actually stained with Nami's blood.. And I hope you know what Luffy giving Nami his hat symbolises. The hat is his treasure & so is Nami.
    Anyway, i like the sincerity in your reactions. Some reactors talked & joke around too much, so they missed a lot of stuff. Also, if you want to keep up with all the details, i suggest you prepare a notepad and briefly write down the details that seem important. See you on the last episode~

    • @Mrsuperdestroyer

      The money was stained because of all the hardship she went through getting it, not because of Arlong's treatment of her. Arlong did enslave her though, she was chained in the map room but they showed than in the life action.

      There's not really anything to confirm that. We would need to see the price in berries for something that has a real world equivalent, like I can get a large can of stewed tomatoes for about $3, so if we ever saw Sanji go buy a can of stewed tomatoes, then I could figure out the approximate exchange rate between berries and USD, but at this point there's not anything to base that on. You MIGHT be right, but you could also be completely wrong.

    I mean Arlong didn't break his promise.
    He promised to let Coco Village go if Nami brings him the money by sunrise, which she did not.
    This is mor like a monkey paw situation, where you have to consider every loop whole in the deal you make.

    • @y.m.7300
      @y.m.7300 Год назад +1

      Oh I didn’t think of that. So if she had managed to bring it by sunrise do you think he maybe would have actually let her go and made the village free?

    • @l3nsman
      @l3nsman Год назад +3

      @@y.m.7300Yeah, one of the things Nami mentions in the episode is that Arlong's crew takes money and deals *very* seriously, so they never break money contracts whether written or verbal.
      In the original manga and anime, there is a scene where Arlong is getting depressed because Nami is close to raising the money agreed. The shark states that he regrets the deal, because Nami became too valuable to him as a map maker and navigator to just let her go.
      So he comes up with tipping off the rat guy and sharing a percentage of the money with him. This allows him to technically keep his word, keep a significant proportion of the money and keep Nami in his crew

      @@y.m.7300 At least there is nothing to make you think otherwise. He is never shown to walk back on a promise. He struck a deal with the marines and has no problem paying his usual share to Nezumi. He only gets bothered when Nezumi gets greedy.
