Hello guys! Wow I did not expect my first video to get so many views😅Sorry it took forever to upload this one, I had some family stuff going on. I will try being consistent in the future though I can't promise anything but I will still try my hardest! Can't wait to react to episode 3!
@@Daoless haha actually I have a channel with my sister where we react to KPOP so I have been doing this for a little while just not by myself so its a little weird😅
34:46 They lifted most of Luffy's personality traits from the manga, but he's not a 1-to-1 adaptation. Manga Luffy, at this point in the story, is more of an idiot and less of a nice guy than live-action Luffy. They smoothed his edges a bit. I like both versions and I think they both fit their respective mediums.
Luffy is not an idiot, he just doesn't have a filter. He says what he thinks and he thinks what he says. He is honest even at the worst of times. His honesty and lack of social graces make him look like an idiot, but he really isn't one. He's reckless, though. His recklessness is both his biggest strength and his biggest weakness.
@@SaucyJack88 He _is_ an idiot, though. He's very intelligent in interpersonal relationships and in reading people, but his sheer lack of common sense knowledge does make him something of an idiot.
While I also think that both Luffy versions fit their respective media well, I disagree on Manga Luffy being an idiot. Manga Luffy is even more pure than LA Luffy and in a way even more inspiring. They made LA Luffy a bit more "normal" and "hero" like because of different target audience. Better overall appeal to most people. But they did stick close enough to source material so I am happy with adaptation.
Buggy isn't really immune to blunt trauma - just very good at rolling with the punches - if someone's head pops off when you hit him, you're unlikely to break his jaw.
Trust me when I say that the manga/anime is really, REALLY good at pulling tears out of someone. Also, a few, fun facts: •One of Oda's og designs for Nami, was for her to have a robot arm, and to wield a giant (and by giant, I mean the blade is basically bigger than her body), battle axe. Of course, this would later be changed to her being fully organic, and using a pole for her fighting style. The getup she had for that design, however did get used in this very adaptation, along with various other outfits from the manga's cover panels. •While prototyping One Piece at the time (being called Romance Dawn at that point), Oda had the idea to have two seperate categories of pirates: Rocs, which were your stereotypical, thieving, violent scallywags, and Peace Mains, pirates who steal only from other pirates, and have a love for adventure and exploration. Its not hard to tell which category Luffy fits under, eh? •Zoro, surprisingly enough, was at one point, suppossed to be a member of Buggy's crew, before being made into the bounty-hunter-turned-pirate.
23:34 it’s the way I also squealed seeing his smile 😭 he has such a beautiful smile and I feel like it actually has more impact that he’s usually more stoic bc the rare moments when we do see his smile ends up hitting different 🥹 also I love how we share the sense of humor bc we laugh at the same scenes 😂
I definitely understand about life getting in the way of posting more frequently as I alluded to in my comment on the reaction to episode one. Glad to see you continuing though. Yes, that is actually Buggy's nose. In the manga and anime, we actually see a flashback of young Buggy and Shanks that gives us part of the reason Buggy is so resentful toward him. The whole thing with Luffy never getting Buggy's name right comes straight from the manga, Interestingly, Boogie (which is one of the mistaken names Luffy uses for him here) was originally going to be the character's name, but Oda Eichiro saw something else that had a clown named Boogie and he didn't want people to draw a comparison so he changed it to Buggy. The ability that Shanks used to chase away the Lord of the Coast (the sea monster) is something that isn't explained in the manga for at least a few hundred chapters (an arc that I suspect will probably end up in the sixth season of the live action series). Mini-Buggy also comes straight from the manga. The manga actually gives us a cover story (a side story told using the cover pages of the regular manga chapters) that follows Mini-Buggy through a series of adventures as he tries to make his way back to his crew and his body, and ultimately teams up with another pirate). This whole side plot with Vice Admiral Garp is mostly original to this live action version. Part of it is based on another cover story that had Garp taking Coby and Helmeppo (Axe-Hand Morgan's son that got the bad haircut from Zoro) as his apprentices, and it's partially combined with events from an arc a couple hundred chapters into the Grand Line, but we actually didn't see Garp during the East Blue Saga in the manga and anime. *Watching you get emotional over Shanks giving Luffy the straw hat* Just wait for everyone else's flashbacks. Oh, and Luffy's flashbacks here were ten years before the current story. Yeah, Shanks is all right . . . mostly because his left was taken by the Lord of the Coast. Original orchestral music on a film would generally be called the score, yes. Luffy in the manga and anime initially comes off as uncaring and brash, even a little unlikable, but you quickly learn that he acts that way to push people he likes into being better versions of themselves. His early interactions with Coby are a perfect example of this. Loving your reactions to this so far! You seem so genuine that I can't help but smile. I'll definitely be watching through the rest of your reactions to this series, and if you decide to go on and watch the anime tp see the differences and/or see more of the story (since it will probably be a MINIMUM of two years before the live action gets its second season), I will absolutely join you for every step of the journey!
The powder burns on Yassop's shirt were a nice touch during the Red Hair fight. The more I watch these episodes, the more small details I notice. Having come into this completely ignorant of the IP I was blown away. Haven't had a show get me this invested this quickly in a while. Think The Expanse was the last one. But even went out and bought the first couple of seasons of the anime to start making my way through it while I wait for season 2.
Yours is one of my favorite reactions you are really entertaining can’t wait for future reactions. And also don’t worry about shanks at all he’s the last person you should be worried about in the show 👀
Great reactions! I've been looking for non-one piece anime watchers to see their reactions and you really vocolized your thoughts well. It's really cool to see that Luffy is inspiring in the live action as well! Since I'm an up to date manga reader and have seen much of the anime I wasn't sure if I was being biased when I was watching. Reactions like yours make me really happy because it's awesome to see more people loving Luffy's free spirit. I'm glad you're enjoying the show!
the best part of small buggy is that its actually canon that it happened lol
That it is alltho the fight is different buggy adventures as small man was funnier then in the live actions plot line

You did well for a first vid. Thought you did it for a while before realizing 😂
One Piece did like Sonic and broke another curse with live-actions adaptations.

I didn't even notice that at first 😂😂😂
Yes...I love the soundtrack of this series....
Buggy is awesome
yeah that is Buggy real nose, that's why he dressed as a clown so that people won't focus on his nose too much...
